Ho Hum! ANOTHER price target increase. We'll see if this one bodes better for us than the last two (which were to $11 & $12, respectively).
Citigroup maintains Prosensa (NASDAQ: RNA) with a Neutral and raises the price target from $4.00 to $7.40.
ob..RNA looking good in PM this morning!
If anyone is still out there and cares...
As of this post, "IF" volume comes in right here/now (currently at $6.75 with 60k volume on the day, need about 400k+ total volume) and closes above $6.75...it "should" trigger a breakout trade to $8.29. Technicals ALL currently showing very strong upward trend!
TYPICAL!
In typical fashion, this POS spends most of the day trending upwards and then settling between $6.60-$6.70 (for almost 3 hours) on the majority of the days volume...before a little volume comes in and pushes it right back down in the last hour and a half. Up 5% with 90 minutes remaining...and ends the day in the red! Absolutely Mind-Numbing.
Today's action once again confirms the ceiling at $6.60...and while things started off looking very positive for an upwards breakout...it now appears to be nothing more than a headfake. I'm not sure what it is going to take at this point to break this ceiling of resistance (or if it can even break it)?
Anyway, if anybody is even listening or cares...given the action today, I fully anticipate this thing getting crushed tomorrow......
Nice action today, lots of heavy buying between 2:30-3:30 pm Eastern which is when it popped up. Someone tried to push it lower in the last 5 minutes of trading on weak volume...typical.
Now, SOMETHING has to give in a big way next week looking at the chart...
http://scharts.co/1c7Cmsl
Bollinger Bands have contracted towards each other and high band/low band is only 83 cents apart (we actually touched the top band today). This is the tightest margin ever looking at the chart. When this type of contraction occurs, it is typically followed by a radical price movement (aka, breakout) in either direction to get the bands to move away from each other again.
POSITIVES: If you draw a trend line from Nov 13 low of $3.43 straight through the lowest closing/opening prices on Dec 11/12 and Jan 13/14...it is still ascending upward AND we held/touched that trend line today at about $6.02. In addition, we are above most all major MA's as support (SMA 10, 25, 50, 100).
NEGATIVES: Money Flow was in the negative the last 2 days even with the positive price action. Stochastics somehow turned downward today.
In a nutshell, there are more positives outweighing the negatives. Should the trend line and MA's all hold...that would result in the breakout being to the upside (especially if it can bust through $6.60 on volume and hold). However, if we breach and close below the trend line and MA's...it will get very ugly, very fast!
Here's to hoping for the prior rather than the latter! Definitely makes for an interesting week after a long weekend! Good Luck all (and of course, JMHO).
Another Sch13 filed today...someone taking another 6.2 million share position. The second of its kind in 2 weeks.
I wish that would translate to the share price...

OB...it has become something of a POS is what it has become. It cannot hold ANY momentum or positive news, ever!
I said the same thing as you a few weeks ago regarding needing just a few up days in a row...but as I stated then, I think that is impossible for this stock. Two analyst upgrades with price target raises to $11 & $12 respectively in the last month and the PPS still sits exactly the same. Just doesn't make any sense.
Until this thing can break AND HOLD the $6.60 ceiling...this pig is sunk! So frustrating! Even more frustrating the up on big volume and down on low volume pattern. Takes so much to move it higher, but so little to crush it back down!
If we just could get two or three up days in a row, we might be able to establish some momentum. But unfortunately for the longer-term holders, this has become something of a trader's stock.
Analyst Upgrade...
Wedbush upgrades Prosensa (NASDAQ: RNA) from Neutral to Outperform and raises the price target from $7.00 to $12.00.
Well, OB...
I guess we're getting the volume today that was missing. Too bad it's in the wrong direction! If it breaks below this $5.63-$5.65 level of support...it's gonna get ugly again!!
Just don't get this stock...
Not nearly enough volume the last 2 days though...almost anemic in that regard.
I would love to see $15/share...but we need to first break through and hold $6.50 for an extended period of time for that to even be a possibility. Then the $7.00-$8.00 range is a really strong level of resistance that it just can't seem to break.
Looking decent today. They're going to be at four investor conferences in February; a buyout is always possible on any given day, but truthfully I'm expecting a more gradual climb back to a reasonable valuation that reflects their pipeline--$15 or so.
Encouraging action today...
Dropped down to $5.65 support again and bounced higher to close near the newly created intraday highs. Hopefully a continuation tomorrow.
Yep, I'm going to listen to the patient webinar later on.
After my last post I looked more closely and realized that today's presentation was just to OK a new board member.
The replay is available now. You must have blinked and missed it was only 8 minutes . I didn't listen yet to the Patient Webinar from the other day that may be more substantive.
Trying to access the webcast but having no luck. Anyone know if it's been canceled?
Funny...but true!
The action in the first 2 minutes this morning is indicative of the trading in this stock. Opens at $5.80...pops to $6.04...and then immediately gets slammed by taking out all the trailing stop losses within 6% to $5.65.
Outside of having one in on Thursday last week (which in hindsight would have been a wise move)...trailing stop losses on this stock are a certain way to lose money!
The most informative, no-nonsense biotech board around is Biotech Values. The moderator, DewDiligence, has as his motto:
“The efficient-market hypothesis may be the foremost piece of B.S. ever promulgated in any area of human knowledge!”
I feel ya OB.
I just can't even comprehend the action that has taken place on this stock in the last 3 weeks. It has gone from below $5 to $6.60 (on no news), to back down $4.31 (on announcement regarding GSK), to up to $8.29 (on company announcement), to back down to $5.80 (on no news WITH an analyst upgrade to $11). Silliness!!
Let's take a vote:
Is this possibly the WORST stock you've ever owned???
I've owned a lot of turds over the years...but this one is making a strong case for it!!!
I cannot believe this stock was over $8/share on Thursday afternoon...and now trades below $6 again. This is maddening.
Seems pretty obvious that noone is buying what the company is selling in their "updates". Considering it has essentially lost all of its gains from prior to the announcement on Thursday. Down over 27% from HOD on Thursday...PATHETIC!
Overall disappointing day following yesterday. I'm watching closely on Tuesday (assuming market is closed on Monday)...as this is starting to look like another ride down which I'm not sure I'm willing to do again (still slightly in the positive in average cost).
Ridiculous that we've already reversed on the P&F chart in half a days session from yesterday! Also reflects Money Flow turning negative the last 2 days. Stock needs to show some follow-through strength next session.

Honestly though, I'm starting to wonder if it is even possible for this stock to have a win streak that lasts more than 3-4 days. I realize it was up 25% yesterday and giving back 8% of that may seem minimal...but in reality it has given back over 23% from the HOD yesterday. That is NOT good. Was really hoping it held and closed at least above the previous high close of $6.55.
Yes, SRPT was also down a good clip today...but they only gave back 4% after gaining 40% yesterday. Sigh.......
No offense...but good riddance to all of you daytraders trying to time this stock without any idea how it trades on a daily basis. This is one of the most thinly traded stocks I've seen in a long time.
You put a stop-loss out within 6% of your buy...it will get wiped out EVERY time and pop back up. That's the action I'm seeing today...a bunch of people trying to time it with buys and stop-losses that are losing bad.
I took a small loss this morning I'm out -300
I sold pre-market above $7 didn't like what I was seeing
GL
Well tommer...i rode to my target at $8...GLTA...
That's funny nice paint job and congrats!
n.- Very glad to hear that, great trade, good for you.
I tend to take a large position in a stock that I've thoroughly researched and believe will eventually payoff, and then just hold. Though I greatly admire pure daytraders, I just don't have the stomach for it.
Still looking for at least $10 from RNA. Best of luck.
Gary
ob..your faith in RNA has helped me keep believing in it all this while, been following your RNA posts for a long time now.Being unable to closely watch the market during the day,I usually have Limit orders on my stocks in the event they have a huge spike.Given the recent GSK news, not in my wildest dreams did I think my $8 sell would hit today.Half my position got sold, but when I realized during my lunch break, I bought them back much cheaper(got lucky on that). So I'm back with my position(nowhere close to your position though), hoping for double digits.
Thanks for your RNA input all along & best of luck to us all.

Why Sarepta Therapeutics, Rentrak, and Prosensa Are Today's 3 Best Stocks

Finally, skipping from one Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) rival to the next, Prosensa (NASDAQ: RNA ) advanced 24.4% after also presenting at the JPMorgan Healthcare Conference, and issuing a press release outlining additional clinical studies of drisapersen, its DMD drug, which failed miserably in late-stage studies in September. According to Prosensa, after further review of its clinical studies, it believes that earlier treatment of the disease, and therefore a longer period of treatment, could delay disease progression. Furthermore, Prosensa intends to consult with clinical experts and regulators to determine the next move for drisapersen. As I stated earlier today, I wouldn't get too excited about these initial findings, with the experimental drug delivering such unimpressive results in its phase 3 study. In addition, Prosensa no longer has a partner -- GlaxoSmithKline ended its pact with the company earlier this week...

All in all...a much more encouraging close than it initially appeared to be. Wish it would have held $7.00. Oh well, tomorrow's another day. This should trade upwards tomorrow for further confirmation of move. GLTA.
I think you spoke too soon.....Nice rebound.
WB I am with you but it is still a little early

Huge dam ask 20k at 6.99
Crazy big ask
might be MM stop gap
Too many shorts for just 7....
EOD spike should be like rocket fuel
who knows in this whacka doodle market
Well, regardless of anything...it HAS to hold the prior high from last week of $6.60. Otherwise from a technical standpoint...today was a bad day and could lead to further selling. JMHO.
I will take a close over your WAG.
