Spam attacks have been so numerous lately that there has been a board created just for the purpose of reporting it!
http://www.investorshub.com/beta/board.asp?board_id=516
The following message came from Matt, with the creation of the new board I have taken the liberty of changing the reporting method.
All Chairs / How Chairmen are to handle Spam
Spam definition - http://www.investorshub.com/beta/Terms.asp
1. Remove the message via Chairman Tools
2. If it's a really bad spammer by looking at his profile, send a note to the SPAM board with a link to his profile:
http://www.investorshub.com/beta/profile.asp?user=2744
http://www.investorshub.com/beta/profile.asp?user=5343
3. They will delete all of his posts @ click of a button.
4. It's important for Chairman to do this, because they are helping the whole community by pointing this out. Don't just say "Hey, keep your spamming to yourself!" Delete that sucker and let the Admin know.
Since you will find this posted on several boards I'll address the issue of me spamming here and now! Yes, I'm spamming against spam, report this to Bob right away!
muel
Do you really think it is still effective to spam all the boards!

Long term short MOT using JUNE 15 puts at .75 cents. Going to keep my fingers cross and short CFLO again at the open at 9.20. (this very late then again who cares what this blond thinks):)
Close out short at 9.12
Shorted a little CFLO at 9.52. Hopefully, I am going to play hit and run or is that run and hit.
This crazy market isn't sure which direction it wants to go. I am back to a 100% cash in my trading account as of a few minutes ago. Over all it has been a good week for me. I am waiting to see how the market response toward closing today. Should give us a good indication for next week. If people are willing to hold their long positions going into the weekend it will be a real bullish sign! I am still a little worried that the NASDAQ has another test of its low coming. Any bull run next week may be short lived. But I am willing to go with the flow.<g>

Thanks Bera and yes I did cover.
What is your feelings on shorting GOTO at these levels. I went ahead today and shorted it @ 20. Did I see that you covered GOTO at 17.50 or was that just a long sell?

I would like to thank you for sharing your idea on shorting JNPR.
check out JNPR
today annouced "No Visibility" at H&Q Conf today while riding coattails of CSCO BSanalyst news.
Also Est. earnings for the year is off-- and needs readjustments--
1stQ (real) .17
2nd Q (est) .24 (23 analyst
3rd Q (est) .23 (23 analy
4th Q (est) .23 (23 analy
(from first call)
well if you add them up its .87 instead of .96 (26 analysts) as listed and used for forward PE of something too high ( I forgot 67 <- I looked it up instead of 112)
and CSCO won a good contract with GX which used JNPR before-
I am short at 66.80 and 63.17 and 59.00
its already down this PM to 64.3 from its close of 65.11
--- I believe this should go down to mid 50's unless MM'sjerk it around
I hit my negative stop loss. Looks like I will have to look at the mistakes i made on this one.
Yes and I need all the help I can get.
You're very welcome, would you care to discuss further trading strategies? I'm very interested in learning to short stocks and am novice to it. Also, have experience with buying stocks that are going up, but not down!
Shorted AMCC again at 24.75. I think every 100 lot share that came across the time and sales at 24.75 was sold by me.
AMCC hit my positive stop loss at 24.50
I would like to thank you for the subjection.
Shorted QQQ at 46.
Closed out QQQ short at 45.75.
Three point stop isn't bad unles you able to buy thousands of shares. My preferrence would have been to move the stop a little closer to the buy price, say less than 5% difference. Or if I bought at 26 put the stop at 27.30, just a thought.
I shorted AMCC at 26+ with my three point stop loss placed. I got this short idea from here
http://www.siliconinvestor.com/stocktalk/msg.gsp?msgid=15734434
Just hit a stoploss on GOTO at 17.5 ish.
Yes I am and getting too close for me on my GOTO and AMAT shorts.
lol Morning Shannon, hope you're using stop loss orders!
muel
Shorted QQQ at 47.25. If somebody is actually reading this please do not follow my trades. Following this blond female may lead to a smaller trading account. vbg
Well that makes two of us, lol I have traded successfully in a bull market, but have yet to buy short. Since I see advantage to doing this I think I should be learning how! I'm a little fearfull of buying short because I know nothing of it! Something I'll have to overcome. Talk later, going to bed now.
muel
The only idiot on this thread is me and I need all the help I can get.
Hi Shannon,
I finally remembered my password so this is my actual Nick. I'll give you backround on myself. I was heavily into shorting during the internet run-up. I would short momentum plays that would run 50-100% in 1-3 days. I would just short the running for the exits. Anyways, showing my inexperience, I put all my eggs into one basket and finally was burned last year. I lost about 6 months of hefty profits in one trade. I felt so terrible I didn't trade since. But now, I've educated myself as per protecting gains and consistency. My first day trading again will be tomorrow. I've done some minor paper trading in the process. I like to play the momentum which ever way it might be so that means I'm willing to play a long position although I find it easier to call a short. I've crawled the internet searching for resources pertaining to shorting. There are not really any active forums or educational resources so it's great to see yourself and a couple of others using this board. I look forward to contributing on a daily basis. I don't want to interrupt your board though as you have mentioned that you use this board as a scrapbook. I finished reading your 25 points and couldn't agree with you more as per most of them. Unfortunately I'm still getting on my feet so I can't divvy up my money into 10 parts. I look forward to your input and would love to hear how you got into shorting.
RevGslick
Hello Shannon,
Would mind trying to teach an idiot how to short stocks? lol
muel
Hello ReverendShort,
I would like to thank you for posting on this thread and feel free to give us some of your ideas. The reason I started this thread is I thought it would be a good quiet place to start a trading jouneral to see where I make mistakes and make sure I do not make the same mistake again.
HI Shannon and Mr. Zone,
I'd like to introduce myself. Are you all willing to posting here more often? If so, I am also willing to contribute. This could be an excellent place to share ideas. I'm curious as to how into shorting you both are. I look forward to your responses.
Close this position at 9.50. I wish I have coverd early in the day. Going to take a small short position in GOTO above 15.
