Companies like Vanguard, Credit Suisse (First Boston), and Bank of New York Mellon Group don't buy into stocks they expect to lose money on. Buying PRWT sub-$1 is a no-brainer...........
Very few regional banks meet FDIC capital ratios the way PRWT now does ("well capitalized"), after the private placement investments last quarter. While profitability is still negative, you can see the steady improvement they've made quarter on quarter recently. If not profitable with their Q2 fins in July, then certainly they will be in the 2nd half. JMHO
I just flip for free shares. Some of these banks will make it, and this is looking like one that will.
Im just in it for a swing trade... wont hold these things more than 5 days. but best of luck to you with your long term position, I think it will do well
im holding for 2's. I saw it with PCBC and CPF. If your willing to wait there is money to be made here. dont worry about the day to day.
game on tomorrow.... sweet candle today
Be patient young grasshopper.
Im in with 50k shares - WTF is going on here???
Not too bad at all.
Institutional interest ain't lookin' too shabby either.

To be honest I have no idea, but the banks ratios are outstanding and insider buys are looking good as well. This isnt going to be an overnight thing but if your willing to wait this is a guaranteed 2-3 bagger.
Agreed. You think we will fill the gaps at .55, .73, and .80?
This will be a 2-3.00 stock in 6 months. Very oversold right now and their latest financials show that this they took the steps necessary to stay alive. News announcements from PCBC/STSA have taken this sector down. This is a great long term play. GLTA
PRWT opened strong but sellers quickly came into the market. People have enjoyed good profits in this stock since April 6, when I first started talking about it. People used the pullback to $0.70 to average up in our position and people have now taken our profits and are looking for new trading opportunities.
PRWT continues to make gains and Friday’s price action was a strong indication that people will see another rise in the stock’s price. PRWT started the day off weak but a drop below $0.90 created a strong buy opportunity. It traded more than 10 million shares and closed at the high of the day. So far the stock has generated gains of more than 54% since we recommended buying it at $0.70.
PRWT people are excited about the gains that are making in it. I mentioned earlier in the week that $0.70 looked like a good entry point and people were not disappointed. At the open on Thursday the stock managed to rally to a high of 1.06, which is a gain of 51%. The stock continues to trade with very strong volume and I think prices could continue to move higher in the next few weeks.
PRWT made some very strong gains on Wednesday with very high volume. As I said in Tuesday’s premarket analysis, a strong open would be a signal for us to buy and people received that signal. With more than 17 million shares traded on Wednesday, I think people could see another strong move today.
First target 1.00 reached. Sold 50%. Remember that they need to trade above 1.00 to continue trading at Nasdaq
First target 1.00 reached. Sold 50%. Remember that they need to trade above 1.00 to continue trading at Nasdaq
Off to a great start...hit .91!
;)
CNBC was pushing smaller banks yesterday, recommending them over the big guys.
PRWT is held support at around $0.70 and provided a good buy area for investors. On Tuesday the stock gapped significantly higher and managed to rally to a high of $0.80. Over 4.7 million shares were traded on Tuesday, which is a good indication that volume supports higher prices.
You spoke too soon. This and one other have been two of my best plays all year. I think this one will surprise you. Patience.
Same story everyday......should day trade this, pops in the am drops back down at close. Hopefully it will turn the corner here.
PRWT is trading above support at $0.70 and people are just waiting for its current consolidation period to end. There are signs that the selling pressure is starting to ease investors now want to see a positive close to signal a reversal of this pullback.
PRWT there are some signs of strength in it and people could see another push towards the March high of $0.95. The stock found some strong support at $0.70 and managed to close just below its opening price. PRWT just needs a little boost in volume and then people should see higher prices.
Regional bank Commerce Bancshares Inc. Q1 profit jumped 43 percent, driven by fewer loan losses. CBSH
Lets see if UBS bearish call for Q3 or Q4 on Regional Banks is right.

Return of the Banking Bull Market
By Jim Cramer
RealMoney Columnist

The derivative battle currently going on in Washington is being viewed as make or break for the likes of JP Morgan (JPM - commentary - Trade Now) and the Goldman Sachs (GS - commentary - Trade Now) by the media pundits, most of whom can't get negative enough about the banks.
I look at the stocks. They are saying (1) that this group is in the midst of a major turn and (2) that the derivative battle will not be lost by the banks, no more than the credit-card battles were "lost."
In fact, we are back in rolling bull-market mode for a group that took a definitive breather for some time before re-launching, something that was confirmed by JP Morgan's numbers.
Yet, there are still plenty of bargains out there, bargains based on the endless drumbeat from various bean counters about home foreclosures -- numbers, by the way, that are completely meaningless at this point, because we are at the cusp of a surge in employment and a housing shortage in 2011. Don' take my word for it, check out a great piece of research on it by JP Morgan from last week.
That means there's still much to buy, including Bank of America (BAC - commentary - Trade Now), which should finally see some of the benefits of the Merrill Lynch acquisition, as well as some sense of a bottom in real estate, although the bank does not have the reserves it needs à la JP Morgan.
I also think the time to buy First Horizon (FHN - commentary - Trade Now) is still at hand and don't get why it is down despite the excellent Raymond James initiation today.
And last, but not least, Citigroup (C - commentary - Trade Now). I like the way it trades in this assault on $5. It is not taking gobs of cents and then just taking more. It is all backing and filling on the way up. It is a thoughtful ramp, not a crazy one.
No, I am not saying you should stop worrying about Washington. Some of the proposals are simply confiscation proposals, like some sort of old 1896 populist joke. But others are thoughtful and will make people are less worried about banking failures. They won't change earnings per share one whit, though, despite the relentless attempts by the media to say otherwise.
The bull market in this group is on.
Don't sweat the program.
At the time of publication, Cramer was long GS, BAC and JPM.
Profit taking from who bout @0.44 offering price, most important
is that Insiders and Directors isn't selling and will hold for higher price. Remember that we had 1 public offering.
We have completed our previously announced rights offering to shareholders and standby purchasers. We issued 42,486,822 shares of common stock, and received approximately $18.7 million of new capital, before expenses, in the rights offering. We are now offering up to 39,260,540 shares of our common stock to the public, which represent unsubscribed shares in our rights offering, at $0.44 per share on a best efforts basis by our executive officers and directors.

PRWT people are seeing some more profit taking in it, which is not surprising. The stock made impressive moves on Monday and Tuesday. After a little breather, I would expect this stock to continue its trek upwards.
PRWT is slowly adding to its recent gains. On Monday the stock managed to push higher and followed up that move on Tuesday with a strong open. Investors drove the stock to a high of $0.89 before taking some of their profits off the table.
A new and quite hefty 13G was filed on 4/13/10, and more insiders were buying on 4/7/10.

Wow.
;)
It's just taking a little rest.
;)
PRWT make another move higher. A late afternoon rally helped to push this stock to $0.80. I am expecting PRWT to break through that level in the very near term – the volume definitely supports higher prices.
How are more people not on this stock right now?
I'm surprised this board is so quiet. Almost up 100% in the last week!
PRWT was the third big winner last week and people still see potential in this stock. On Thursday and Friday the stock sold off but I do not think this is a reversal of its trend. Volume remains relatively low, which is an indication that this is just a short term pullback. I do see some support at $0.65. A drop down to this level might create a strong buy signal.

PremierWest Bancorp (PRWT) on its Way Back to Recovery
Last Updated: April 09, 2010 - 9:32am EST
(NEW YORK) – Regional bank, PremierWest Bancorp (NASD:PRWT), may have cleared one of their last hurdles to help bring them back from the brink.
http://www.wallstreetnewscast.com/news/2...
PRWT continues to hold on to its gains and I am not too concerned about the selling pressure because the volume is low. If the price does drop investors will probably use it as a buying opportunity and drive the stock back up.
Whatever it is, it's being stringently traded/manipulated.

I'd say dumping. I saw a lot of unloading this morning on E-Trade Power.
You think dumping, or possibly short covering?
certainly is looking that way...I like how this is moving, after all that dumping this morning.
looks like it. nice grab
in @ .67 vinny
volume picking up maybe a cover ?
nice shake. might go green here.
