Matthew 18
At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? 2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, 3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. 6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! 8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. 9 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. 10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. 11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? 13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. 14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
Happy, Thank you for your daily Positive Words.
I believe that the Word of God is positive for us. God told us to be positive, e.g. "give thanks to all things". How can we be thankful when bad things happen to us. God told us to be thankful for "ALL" things whatever happen to us. This is a message of "thinking positive". So, I force myself to be positive, to create positive thoughts in my mind, to be thankful to God, to find something to be thankful for, and to live daily with positive thoughts.
It is quite simple to create the world peace. When everyone can focus on the fruit of Spirit, we will live in peace since there will not be a war or hate. Instead of arguing over doctrinal differences, we can focus on being friends and helpful for others. When we practice two teachings of God, this world will live in peace.
God bless

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord's_Prayer
"Our Father, which art in Heaven"
The opening pronoun of Matthew's version of the prayer—our—is plural, which is viewed by many as a strong indication that the prayer was intended for communal, rather than private, worship. Together, the first two words—Our Father—are a title used elsewhere in the New Testament, and other Jewish literature, to refer to God. This is most likely the intent of the prayer.
[edit] "Hallowed be thy Name"
Having opened, the prayer begins in the same manner as the Kaddish, hallowing the name of God, and then going on to express hope that God's will and kingdom will happen. In Judaism the name of God is of extreme importance, and honouring the name central to piety. In that era names were not simply labels, but were seen as true reflections of objects' nature. Therefore, when the prayer seeks to hallow God's name, it was seen as equivalent to actually hallowing God. Hallowed is the passive voice and future tense, which to some makes it unclear how this hallowing is meant to occur. One interpretation is that this is a call for all believers to honour God's name. Those who see the prayer as primarily eschatological understand the prayer to be an expression of desire for end times when God's name, in the eyes of those carrying out the prayer, would be universally honoured.
[edit] "Thy kingdom come"
The request for God's kingdom to come is usually interpreted as a reference to the belief, common at the time, that a Messiah figure would bring about a Kingdom of God. Some scholars have argued that this prayer is pre-Christian and was not designed for specifically Christian interpretation. Many evangelicals see it as quite the opposite—a command to spread Christianity.
[edit] "Thy will be done, in earth as it is in Heaven"
The prayer follows with an expression of hope for God's will to be done. This expressing of hope can be interpreted in different ways. Some see it as an addendum to assert a request for Earth to be under direct and manifest divine command. Others see it as a call on people to submit to God and his teachings. In the Gospels, these requests have the added clarification in earth, as it is in Heaven, an ambiguous phrase in Greek which can either be a simile (i.e., make earth like Heaven), or a couple (i.e., both in Heaven and earth), though simile is the most common interpretation.
[edit] "Give us this day our daily bread"
The more personal requests break from the similarity to the Kaddish. The first concerns daily bread. What this means is slightly obscure, since the word that is normally translated as daily—ἐπιούσιος epiousios—is almost a hapax legomenon, occurring only in Luke and Matthew's versions of the Lord's Prayer, and in an Egyptian accounting book, with no other surviving written citations. Daily bread appears to be a reference to the way God provided manna to the Israelites each day while they were in the wilderness, as in Exodus 16:15–21. Since they could not keep any manna overnight, they had to depend on God to provide anew each morning. Etymologically epiousios seems to be related to the Greek word ousia, meaning substance. Early heterodox writers connected this to Eucharistic transubstantiation. Modern scholars tend to reject this connection on the presumption that Eucharistic practise and the doctrine of transubstantiation both developed later than Matthew was written. Protestants concur since they reject belief in transubstantiation. Epiousios can also be understood as existence, i.e., bread that was fundamental to survival. In the era, bread was the most important food for survival. However, scholars of linguistics consider this rendering unlikely since it would violate standard rules of word formation. Koine Greek had several far more common terms for the same idea. The usage of epiousios in the Egyptian papyrus is in the sense of for tomorrow. That is more clearly stated in the wording used by the Gospel of the Nazoraeans for the prayer. Therefore, the common translation is daily, a translation conveniently close in meaning to the other two possibilities as well. Those Christians who read the Lord's Prayer as eschatological view epiousios as referring to the second coming—reading for tomorrow (and bread) in a metaphorical sense. Most scholars disagree, particularly since Jesus is portrayed throughout Luke and Matthew as caring for everyday needs for his followers, particularly in the bread-related miracles that are recounted.
[edit] "And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us"
After the request for bread, Matthew and Luke diverge slightly. Matthew continues with a request for debts to be forgiven in the same manner as people forgive those who have debts against them. Luke, on the other hand, makes a similar request about sins being forgiven in the manner of debts being forgiven between people. According to literal translation of the Greek, the debts are financial debts. However, in Aramaic, the word for debt can also mean sin. The difference between Luke and Matthew's wording could be explained by the prayer about which they were writing was originally written in Aramaic. It is generally accepted that the request is talking about forgiveness of sin, rather than merely loans. This is the traditional interpretation, although some groups read it literally as a condemnation of all forms of lending. Asking for forgiveness from God was a staple of Jewish prayers. It was also considered proper for individuals to be forgiving of others, thus requiring the sentiment expressed in the prayer would have been a common one of the time.
[edit] "And lead us not into temptation"
Interpretations of the penultimate petition of the prayer—not to be led by God into peirasmos—vary considerably. Peirasmos can mean temptation, or just test of character. Traditionally it has been translated temptation. Since this would seem to imply that God leads people to sin, individuals uncomfortable with that implication read it as test of character. There are generally two arguments for this reading. First, it may be an eschatological appeal against unfavourable last judgement, though nowhere in literature of the time, not even in the New Testament, is the term peirasmos connected to such an event. The other argument is that it acts as a plea against hard tests described elsewhere in scripture, such as those of Job. Yet, this would depart heavily from Jewish practice of the time when pleas were typically made, during prayer, to be put through such tests.
[edit] "But deliver us from evil"
Translations and scholars are divided over whether the evil mentioned in the final petition refers to evil in general or the devil in particular. The original Greek is quite vague. In earlier parts of the Sermon on the Mount, in which Matthew's version of the prayer appears, the term is used to refer to general evil. Later parts of Matthew refer to the devil when discussing similar issues. However, the devil is never referred to as the evil in any Aramaic sources. While John Calvin accepted the vagueness of the term's meaning, he considered there to be little real difference between the two interpretations, and therefore of no real consequence.
[edit] "For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen"
The doxology of the prayer is not contained in Luke's version, nor is it present in the earliest manuscripts of Matthew. The first known use of the doxology (in a less lengthy form) as a conclusion for the Lord's Prayer is in the Didache. In it are at least ten different versions among the early manuscripts before it seems to have standardised. Jewish prayers at the time had doxological endings. The doxology may have been originally appended for use during congregational worship. If so, it could be based on 1 Chronicles 29:11. Most scholars and many modern translations do not include the doxology except in footnotes. Nevertheless, it remains in use liturgically in Eastern Christianity and among Protestants. A minority, generally fundamentalists, posit that the doxology was so important that early editions neglected it due to its obviousness, though several other quite obvious things are mentioned in the Gospels.
Thanks, Happy, the fruit of Spirit can certainly lead us to have a happy and blessed day as we rely on the Spirit who dwells in us.

28: And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29: And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30: And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

"In everything give thanks." -I Thessalonians 5:18
Carl Sandburg tells the story about Abe Lincoln at the age of seven. One evening, Abe walked over to his cabin door and opened it. He looked up into the face of the full moon and said, "Mr. Moon, what do you see from way up there?"
Mr. Moon answered, "Abe, I see a calendar and it says 1816. I see eight million people in the United States of America. I see 16,000 covered wagons plodding slowly across the Midwestern plains toward California. And, Abe, I see far to the west a wagon in the desert between two ridges of the Rocky Mountains. The wagon is broken, weeds are crawling in the spokes and there is an old dusty skeleton nearby with a pair of empty moccasins and some dry bones. I also see a sign that says, "The cowards never started!"
Troubles? Give God thanks! The very fact that you are facing troubles is a compliment to you-you had the courage to stick your neck out and try something. When you have this attitude toward troubles, they generally turn into blessings, compliments, or tributes. When trouble blocks the road and forces you to take a detour which, in turn, spares you from an accident, then trouble becomes a blessing.
When suffering forces you to unload excess baggage in your life which you have not had the courage to get rid of before, then trouble is a blessing in disguise! Give God thanks when you face a problem!
I do not always understand what is happening in my life, but I can thank God always for He is with me!

Proverbs Day 128 (KJV):
Proverbs 16:1(KJV):
1 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.
2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.
3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
http://www.bible.com/devotional-detail.php?juli=2454229&dtype=Proverbs
Proverbs 16:1(Amp):
1 The plans of the mind and orderly thinking belong to man, but from the Lord comes the (wise) answer of the tongue.
2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirits -- the thoughts and intents of the heart.
3 Roll your works upon the Lord -- commit and trust them wholly to Him; (He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and) so shall your plans be established and succeed.
Thoughts for the Day
The book of Proverbs reveals the source of true wisdom which comes from the Lord, as He establishes the thoughts of those who commit their works unto Him. Verse 1 tells us that when a man has the heart of the Father, he will prepare his speech and answers to reflect the Lord's advice which comes by the Holy Spirit. As God's children, we should prepare our hearts to receive from the Lord, by keeping a submitted and committed attitude before Him. The other preparation that we should make is to fill our minds and hearts with the Word of God. As we read the Bible, God's Holy Word, it will renew our minds and our thinking so that we change our carnal thinking to think the thoughts of God.
Ephesians 5:26-27: "That he might sanctify and cleanse it (the church) with the washing of water by the word,
That he might present it (the church) to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish."
We are cleansed by the Word of God. It is like water washing away the dirt from our minds. We must not only receive it in our minds, but ask the Lord to help us to apply it to our lives by faith. As we line up with the Word of God, our lives will be changed so that we can walk in victory over sin in our lives. The Word of God is full of power and it is able to change us, when we call on God in faith to help us to walk in the commandments of God.
Hebrews 4:12: "For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power -- making it active, operative, energizing and effective; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the "breath of life (soul) and (the immortal) spirit, and of joints and marrow (that is, of the deepest parts of our nature) exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart."
Verse 2 of Proverbs 16 in our devotional tells us that men think that they are pure in their own sight. Without God's light, men do not realize they are deceived by the devil in the things they choose to do, so they do not perceive their doings as wrong. The Lord weighs the spirits of men. He reveals Himself to those who are searching for the truth, because He sees the thoughts and intents of men's hearts. Those without God walk in a way that seems right to them; however, it will lead to death unless they give their lives to God and follow Him.
Proverbs 14:12: "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."
Proverbs 16:3 tells us to give our works to the Lord and to commit and trust them wholly to Him. As we do this, He will cause our thoughts to become agreeable to His will. When we obey and do the will of God, our plans will be established and succeed, because they are the plans of God. When I am in doubt about what I should do in a certain situation, I ask the Lord, if what I am thinking and feeling is from Him, to put it stronger in my spirit. However, if those thoughts are not of Him, I ask Him to remove them from my mind and let me have His thoughts and plans. We must not be led by circumstances, nor should we be led by our minds or emotions without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. If our minds and emotions have not been cleansed from carnal thinking, the devil can deceive us, causing us to miss the will of God. The Bible says that as the sons of God, we should be led by the Spirit of God. Our circumstances, thinking and emotions should then line up with what the Spirit of God has revealed to us. He leads, they follow.
Romans 8:12-14:
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
When we allow the Holy Spirit to guide us, we are promised that whatever we do will be successful. Our Father in heaven is all wise and He will not allow us, as His sons and daughters to be defeated. If we follow the ways of the Lord and strive to please Him, we will not live to please our flesh.
Prayer for the Day
Dear Heavenly Father,thank You, for your promise of wisdom and guidance. Lord, help me to overcome my carnal desires and live to glorify and please You in all of my ways. Fill me with the Holy Spirit daily, so that I can walk in Your power to overcome those things that the devil uses to try and defeat me. Lord, cleanse my heart and mind of the things that do not agree with Your Word. Lord, bless Your people every where and meet their needs this day. Lord, bless each brother and sister in all the countries of the world. Meet their needs, as well as ours, so that we all can share the gospel with others who need You. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
HAPPY, it sure is better to have you!
God bless

Hi 1Best and all. I am new to this board, Positive Thinking. I thought I would post some scripture this morning to help us think positive through the day. I love the Lord and his word. Thank God for salvation through Jesus Christ.
Psalms 27
1: The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2: When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
3: Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
4: One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.
5: For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
6: And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.
7: Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8: When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
9: Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
10: When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
11: Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
12: Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
13: I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
14: Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
it wasnt a debate it was pointing out a FACT! lol
ironically your poem itself contains a lot of dogma, despite the first like saying "shun dogma"
We pray to the great Spiritual Power in which
we live and move and have our being.
We pray that we may at all times
keep our minds open to new ideas and shun dogma;
that we may grow in our understanding of the nature of all living beings
and our connectedness with the natural world;
that we may become ever more filled with
generosity of spirit and true compassion and love for all life;
that we may strive to heal the hurts that we have inflicted on nature
and control our greed for material things, knowing that
our actions are harming our natural world and the future of our children;
that we may value each and every human being
for who he is, for who she is,
reaching to the spirit that is within,
knowing the power of each individual to change the world.
We pray for social justice,
for the alleviation of the crippling poverty
that condemns millions of people around the world
to lives of misery - hungry, sick, and utterly without hope.
We pray for the children who are starving,
who are condemned to homelessness, slave labor, and prostitution,
and especially for those forced to fight, to kill and torture
even members of their own family.
We pray for the victims of violence and war,
for those wounded in body and for those wounded in mind.
We pray for the multitudes of refugees, forced from their homes to alien places
through war or through the utter destruction of their environment.
We pray for suffering animals everywhere,
for an end to the pain caused by scientific experimentation,
intensive farming, fur farming, shooting, trapping,
training for entertainment, abusive pet owners,
and all other forms of exploitation
such as overloading and overworking pack animals,
bull fighting, badger baiting, dog and cock fighting and so many more.
We pray for an end to cruelty,
whether to humans or other animals,
for an end to bullying, and torture in all its forms.
We pray that we may learn the peace that comes with forgiving
and the strength we gain in loving;
that we may learn to take nothing for granted in this life;
that we may learn to see and understand with our hearts;
that we may learn to rejoice in our being.
We pray for these things with humility;
We pray because of the hope that is within us,
and because of a faith in the ultimate triumph of the human spirit;
We pray because of our love for Creation, and because of our trust in God.
We pray, above all, for peace throughout the world.

The Adventure
When I was about 7, I was in the car with my mom and two sisters when my mother pulled over to the side of the road to study the map. “Are we lost, Mom?” I was worried.
“Oh, no,” she replied cheerfully, quickly folding up the map. “We’re on an adventure.” My sisters and I exchanged doubtful glances as one of them whispered knowingly, “We’re lost.”
Adventures can be fun—and scary. They usually involve a bit of the unknown. As we walk in fellowship with God, it’s likely that our lives will have many unique adventures—opportunities to serve Him. If we’re reluctant or scared and we turn down an opportunity, we miss out. Will God still get the job done? Of course. But someone else will receive the blessing.
In Esther 4, Mordecai encouraged the young queen Esther to help rescue her people. He cautioned: “If you remain completely silent . . . deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (v.14).
Esther was naturally frightened to take this assignment. But God used her courage and faith to deliver her people. Trust God to show you the way. Adventure ahead! —Cindy Hess Kasper
For life’s adventure, Lord, I ask
Courage and faith for every task;
A heart kept clean by high desire,
A conscience purged by holy fire. —McDermand

Good morning, Tina Marie
This is going to be a great day as we promote "Peaceful" and "Friendly Loving" spirit around us!
OK, Tina Marie, Enjoy the vacation. It sounds like it will be a nice vacation.
btw, if you will, could you tell me whether you love your board lay-out showing Evil pictures? You said that you are not evil and I do not think that you are, so far, you are a friendly, cheerful lady. However, it seems that the appearance does influence us; so, I prefer to see calm and peaceful appearance rather than evil and provocative appearance.

Is it possible that you could make, "HOUSE of Angels" board with inspirational, holy angel pictures and messages?
no no my family is in Annapolis
I use to go to OC every summer when I was younger (pre moving to NC in 92)
That will be a good visit since you grew up in O.C. and you might still have your family in O.C. as well?
Happy, she is a talented girl for sure. Thanks for the link.

Thinking of taking the kids to Ocean City in July since we're also going to Baltimore to see the Yankees play.
I haven't been there for YEARS!
Here is more information on that precious girl. If you google her name, there is more on the internet about her.

OK, as long as those debates do not bother you, but it is a big waste of my time and energy to debate on doctrine so I flee from doing so.
Simply, "AGREE to disagree" and GOD will lead us to His Way in the End.
Praise God!
RC is really okay. Like I said, several of us have known each other for a long time. We just have different points of view and I respect his right to his opinion.
He doesn't upset me at all.
I do appreciate your concern for me.
Happy,
we don't need to deal with negative people using the Words of God to drain other Christians or people. Instead of showing friendship and support to see the works of God which is ultimately loving God and others.
The worst thing can happen to a person is to know God's words but not showing a care for others.

WoW, thank you, HAPPY!
What a beautiful Child of God! The paintings which she presents are truly reflecting the works of God speaking through her.
It is amazing how God speaks to us through different people, ways, and events.
Thanks again for sharing inspirational thoughts with us.

Prayer for the National Day of Prayer 2007
Written by Dr. Charles R. Swindoll
"Almighty God, we pause to reflect on Your character as we seek wisdom for such a time as this. In these unsafe days, You remain all- powerful and able to protect; In these uncertain times, You remain all-knowing, leading us aright; In the unprecedented events we're facing, You remain absolutely sovereign. Our times are in Your hands. Therefore our dependence on You, is total, not partial, our need for Your forgiveness is constant, our gratitude for Your grace is profound, our love for You is deep. We ask that You guard and guide our President and all who serve the people of these United States."

Proverbs Day 127 (KJV):
Proverbs 15:30-33(KJV):
30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.
31 The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.
32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.
33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
Proverbs 15:30-33(Amp):
30 The light in the eyes (of him whose heart is joyful) rejoices the heart of others, and good news nourishes the bones.
31 The ear that listens to the reproof that leads to or gives life will remain among the wise.
32 He who refuses and ignores instruction and correction despises himself, but he who heeds reproof gets understanding.
33 The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord brings instruction in Wisdom, and humility comes before honor.
Thoughts for the Day
The book of Proverbs records many observations dealing with life. Among those observations, we are told in verse 30 that those who have a rejoicing heart will have light in their eyes. Another way to say this, would be that a person who has the joy of the Lord in their hearts will have a twinkle in their eyes and will be aglow with the spirit of the Lord. We can tell what is in a person's heart by their countenance as the face most of the time reflects the attitude of the soul. People who are joyful bring joy to others. Also, the one who brings a good report and shares good news, will also benefit by experiencing a health benefit. When the scriptures talk about making the bones fat or speaks of health in the marrow of the bones, it is referring to a healthy immune system that produces healthy blood. The Bible also says that the life is in the blood. Therefore, when we keep a joyful and positive attitude it helps to keep us healthy.
Proverbs 3:7-8: "Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones."
Leviticus 17:11a: "For the life of the flesh is in the blood..."
Verse 31 of Proverbs 15 tells us one of the ways to obtain wisdom is to yield to reproof that comes from the spirit of the Lord. When we allow the Holy Spirit to show us the areas of our lives that need correction, and we yield to that correction, we will grow in the wisdom of the Lord. A stubborn and rebellious attitude will cost us dearly. If we are to remain in the company of the wise, we must yield to the advice of the wise. Verse 32 tells us that the person who refuses and ignores instruction and correction actually despises himself, as he will suffer for it. On the other hand, the person who heeds reproof will gain understanding.
Verse 33 tells us that those who have a reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord will gain instruction in God's wisdom. When we approach God with an humble attitude, He will honor us for it. He will give us His grace and mercy in any situation we may find ourselves.
James 4:6-8: "But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded."
These verses are about our attitude. When we keep a proper attitude, we will find ourselves receiving God's favor and grace. We will also be a blessing to others as we maintain an attitude of joyfulness.
Prayer for the Day
Dear Heavenly Father, I am grateful for Your loving kindness toward me. I do appreciate Your grace and mercy in my life. When I come to You asking for forgiveness of my sins, I can feel Your mighty power cleansing me. I do want You to correct me when I need it, as I do not want to get off of the path of holiness. Lord, use me to reach out to those around me with the same love You have shown me. Guide me today in the things that I should do. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with so many things to do. I am trusting You to show me the things that are priority and give me the grace and strength to do them. May I be an instrument of Your love today. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
