market cap's around 40m on this one. even the perception of growth can send this one up nicely
I bought in today a bit. I will likely put through a few more buys as I see the stock trend stabilize. An OS of 8M is peanuts and I like them peanuts.
Thanks. Not many shares in this one trying to accumulate quickly.
Great. Thanks for the link.
Here is another one that alsot confirms a significant position being held by institutions.
http://data.cnbc.com/quotes/PZZI/tab/8
How did you come about that info? Just curious.
Institutions are accumulating this little gem 40% if I remember correctly. FYI
Would love some market volatility to help me snag more of this.. This looks like a trend from hell in here.. We'll see
Been accumulating this for a few weeks now. With the tiny OS I can't help but think this might be another Chipotle in the making.
Solid company here.
PZZI 7-Nov-11 Earnings announcement
Also a play on Dominos:: DPZ ..which is also stronger than most, and posted good earnings, so PZZI should get play off it as well.
Expansion in China -- can't go wrong with that. The Chinese will be as fat as us Americans some day soon
I've never seen this volume on this stock. Keeping an eye on it.

Pizza Inn Says Benvenuto! to 3 NEW Italian Pizzas
Pizza Inn Goes Back to Pizza's Roots With Three Rustic Italian Offerings for a Limited Time Only
THE COLONY, Texas, Apr 30, 2010 (PZZI 2.00, +0.00, +0.01%) , is shaking up summer with three new mouthwatering Rustic Italian pizzas! They're heading back to the birthplace of pizza for inspiration by offering customers true Italian flavor and a chance to win the trip of a lifetime to Italy!
From April 26th through July 26th, Pizza Inn is offering a true taste of Italy. Start with the Tuscan pizza that features a blend of fresh roasted vegetables including red, green and yellow peppers and onions. The Roman pizza, an assortment of crisp bacon, yellow onions, diced tomatoes and a hint of spice. Finally, the Italian favorite, Meatball pizza which has a generous portion of Pizza Inn's marinated Italian meatballs accompanied by chopped green peppers. To top it off, all three pizza crusts are lightly brushed with a rosemary and garlic infused oil, then topped with mozzarella cheese. As the Italians would say…DELIZIOSO!
"We're offering our customers true Italian flavor right at home and then letting them experience it for themselves in Italy," said Charlie Morrison, CEO of Pizza Inn, Inc. "When you combine the three new pizzas with rustic Italian taste and an incredible trip to Italy, it all adds up to one of our greatest summer promotions ever."
A large Rustic pizza is available for only $9.99 during the promotion period or customers can sample them on their famous pizza buffet. They make a perfect meal when paired with Pizza Inn's bountiful salad bar and tasty pizzerts! While visiting the store, customers can receive one scratch ticket per day to see if they have won instant prizes and also receive an online code to register for the trip to Italy at www.pizzainn.com by August 5, 2010. The trip to Italy is for two to Rome for six nights and seven days and includes hotel and travel accommodations and $1,500 in spending money.
For more than 50 years, Pizza Inn has provided consumers with a variety of specialty and traditional handcrafted pizzas, pastas, salads and desserts in a dine-in buffet format with delivery and carryout. The company popularized a unique thin crackery crust that is made from scratch everyday and has since become the signature product offering. Over the years the menu has expanded, but the company's commitment to the highest quality ingredients, the friendliest service and affordable pricing have remained unchanged.

Had some Pizza Inn pizza on Saturday. Traveling through a small town in central texas. One of their express stores. Girl working was very friendly and she just put out fresh pizza. Typically they sell small size ready made pizzas in those settings.
I really like the taste and feel it is in the same class as the big boys. There are many local small pizza places that just do not stand up to a Pizza Hut or Dominos, but Pizza Inn certainly does.
Nice news flow as of late. I still need word of another company owned buffet opening to feel comfortable we could see a run of another dollar or two.
Pizza Inn, Inc. Reports Results for Second Quarter Fiscal Year 2010
http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articles/globenewswire/183973.htm
Feb 9, 2010 19:23:44 (ET)
THE COLONY, Texas, Feb 9, 2010 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) -- Pizza Inn, Inc. (PZZI, Trade ) today reported net income of $0.4 million, or $0.05 per share, for the fiscal quarter ended December 27, 2009, versus net income of $0.1 million, or $0.02 per share, for the same quarter of the prior fiscal year. Total revenue for the second fiscal quarter of 2010 declined to $10.4 million from $11.3 million in the same period of fiscal 2009.
Highlights for the second quarter of fiscal year 2010 included:
-- Sales from Company-owned restaurants increased 34%, or $0.2 million, in
the second quarter of fiscal 2010 compared to the same quarter of the
prior fiscal year, primarily due to the opening of a new buffet location
in Ft. Worth, Texas in September, 2009.
-- Comparable domestic buffet restaurant sales decreased 6.3% for the
second quarter of fiscal 2010 compared to the same quarter of the prior
fiscal year.
-- Chain-wide comparable domestic restaurant sales decreased 7.0% for the
second quarter of fiscal 2010 compared to the same quarter of the prior
fiscal year.
-- Franchise revenue for the second quarter of fiscal 2010 was relatively
flat to the same quarter of the prior fiscal year at $1.0 million
despite the decline in same store sales due to the recognition of
franchise fees from six new international openings during the current
fiscal quarter compared to one new opening in the same quarter of the
prior fiscal year.
-- For the second consecutive fiscal quarter, there was positive net
restaurant growth.
-- Subsequent to quarter end, the Company entered into a Loan Agreement
with Amegy National Bank that provides for a $2.0 million revolving
facility and a $1.0 million term loan facility that provides growth
capital for new company-owned restaurant expansion. The Company
terminated the previous credit facility with CIT.
Charlie Morrison, President and CEO, commented, "Very few companies are exempt from pressures felt in the current economic environment. However, we remain encouraged by the positive net growth in the number of restaurants in the chain year-to-date and expect more openings in the coming months that will continue that trend. At the end of the second quarter, we have a pipeline of over 100 signed development agreements for new restaurants to be opened in both domestic and international markets over the coming years which we believe will further this developing trend of positive unit count growth."

Sorry offline for a few days.
They weathered the storm in 2008 and 2009. With the new incentives for franchisers, you could see new opens hitting alot more frequently. So at 13m market cap, I see huge potential.
Another few corporate owned stores will also increase revenue. Like how they own the distributer, so they get alot of that revenue from each franchise.
Okey then no talk here, was trying to get some info, im a bartender in fl, have a little $ from life and like to do the stocks, wont to maybe put some $ here:)
Hi...i see your new to the boards, like to get some info on this...looks good:)What r ur feelings here?
not ot mention that those that were established over a year ago should be starting to pay now. I'm still looking for the payoff on the international sales.
Quite a few new stores opened since last Q numbers. The lower franchise fees seem to be luring in new operators.

Pizza Inn, headquartered in the Dallas area, operates more than 310 restaurants domestically and internationally, with several new stores scheduled to open in the next year.
Our History:
Pizza Inn has offered consumers affordable, quality pizza since 1958, when the first Pizza Inn restaurant opened in Dallas, Texas. We awarded our first franchise in 1963 and opened our first buffet restaurant in 1969. We began franchising the Pizza Inn brand internationally in the late 1970s. In 1993, our stock began trading on the NASDAQ Stock Market, and presently trades on the NASDAQ SmallCap Market under the ticker symbol “PZZI”.
Pizza Inn, Inc. and its subsidiaries (collectively referred to as the “Company”, “Pizza Inn” or in the first person notations of “we”, “us” and “our”) operate and franchise pizza buffet, delivery/carry-out and express restaurants domestically and internationally under the trademark “Pizza Inn.” Through our Norco Restaurant Services Company (“Norco”) division, and through agreements with third party distributors, we provide or facilitate food, equipment and supply distribution to our domestic and international system of restaurants.
On September 20, 2006, the Pizza Inn system consisted of 369 restaurants, including three Company-owned restaurants, and 366 franchised restaurants. The domestic restaurants are comprised of 175 buffet restaurants, 48 delivery/carry-out restaurants and 70 express restaurants. The international franchised restaurants are comprised of 18 buffet restaurants, 48 delivery/carry-out restaurants and 10 express restaurants. Domestic restaurants are located predominantly in the southern half of the United States, with Texas, North Carolina, and Arkansas accounting for approximately 35%, 14%, and 8%, respectively, of the total number of domestic restaurants.
Our Concepts:
We offer three concepts: buffet, delivery/carry-out and express. Each is designed to enhance the smooth flow of food ordering, preparation and service, and we believe that the overall configuration of each results in simplified operations, lower training and labor costs, increased efficiency and improved consistency and quality of our food products. Our restaurants may be configured to adapt to a variety of building shapes and sizes, offering the flexibility necessary for our concepts to be operated at any number of otherwise suitable locations.
Our focused menu is designed to present an appealing variety of high quality pizza and side items to our customers. Our basic buffet restaurant menu offers three main crusts (Original Thin Crust, New York Pan and Italian), with standard toppings and special combinations of toppings. Buffet restaurants also offer pasta, salad, sandwiches, appetizers, desserts and beverages, including beer and wine in some locations, in an informal, family-oriented atmosphere. We occasionally offer other items on a limited promotional basis. Delivery/carryout restaurants usually offer the three main crusts and some combination of side items. We believe that our focus on three main crust types creates a better brand identity among customers, improves operating efficiency and maintains food quality and consistency.
Our buffet and delivery/carry-out concepts feature crusts that are hand-made from dough made fresh in the restaurant each day. We do not use a centralized commissary for mass production of dough and our dough is never frozen (with the exception of certain dough products used in the express concept for pizza, discussed below). Pizza Inn pizzas are made from a proprietary all-in-one flour mixture, real mozzarella cheese and a proprietary mix of classic pizza spices. Domestically, all ingredients and toppings can be purchased from Norco, which makes deliveries to each domestic restaurant in our system at least once per week. Beginning in November 2006, two authorized third party distributors, each of which has delivery responsibilities for different geographical regions of our system, will provide certain of the warehousing and delivery services that were previously provided by Norco. In international markets, the menu mix of toppings and side items is occasionally adapted to local tastes.
