I think those numbers are vastly over stated. Greed is mostly the factor that leads people to pass up good profit opportunities in favor of the promise of higher profits. The same people who fail in the pinks, more than likely would've failed in large cap stocks as well.
I do not have specific statistics, but for every dollar created for a common investor purchasing shares in a pink sheet company, I am sure there are 10 to 20 dollars lost or stolen because of dilution in the companies.
