Quote: Positive thoughts (joy, happiness, fulfillment, achievement, worthiness) have positive results (enthusiasm, calm, well-being, ease, energy, love). Negative thoughts (judgement, unworthiness, mistrust, resentment, fear) produce negative results (tension, anxiety, alienation, anger, fatigue).

Some Quotes from Albert Einstein:
I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.
To me it is enough to wonder at the secrets.
Look deep, deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.
If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things.
Feeling and longing are the motive forces behind all human endeavor and human creations.
Imagination is more important than knowledge.
Concern for man himself and his fate must always be the chief interest of all technical endeavors... In order that the creations of our mind shall be a blessing and not a curse to mankind. Never forget this in the midst of your diagrams and equations.
The years of searching in the dark for a truth that one feels but cannot express, the intense desire and the alternations of confidence and misgiving until one breaks through to clarity and understanding, are known only to him who has experienced them himself.
The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity.
Curiosity is a delicate little plant which, aside from stimulation, stands mainly in need of freedom.
The fairest thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true science. He who does not know it and can no longer wonder, no longer feel amazement, is as good as dead, a snuffed-out candle.
A human being is part of the whole called by us 'universe,' a part limited in time and space. We experience ourselves, our thoughts, and feelings as something separate from the rest -- a kind of optical delusion of consciousness.
"Thinking BIG, but acting and feeling small, is the same as thinking small"
"You are the biggest obstacle to your success"
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Wisdom Quote from Nelson Mandela:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
Money is better than poverty, if only for financial reasons
Winners compare their achievements with their goals, while losers compare their achievements with those of other people. -Nido Qubein
Social Psychology Experiment - Survey:
For the most part, most people want to have more prosperity in their lives; this is certainly no secret. If you walked up to someone and asked them if they wished they could more money in their lives, 99% of the time the answer will be "Yes". Many people dream of riches so they can have greater control of their lives, help their loved ones and enjoy things like luxury vacations, a nice home and more freedom. However, most of us hold a lot of negative thoughts about wealth and money at the unconscious/subconscious level. This is due to social conditioning, cultural environment and family upbringing. For example, some people feel that money is evil or that rich people are corrupt or greedy.
Research has shown that there are often 2 parts to financial success. One is the 'know how' part. A person has to do something to make money: such as start a business, invest in the stock markets, become an expert in a certain field, marry a rich person, be ambitions enough to move up to a very high level in a corporation, etc. This part is generally accepted. However, there is a second part that is often neglected. That part is their beliefs about wealth and success. What sort of internal beliefs do they hold about money at their innermost 'core' level. This often explains why you can have 2 people in an almost identical situation, and one of them succeeds big time and the other one fails miserably. This survey/experiment will focus on the belief aspect.
Say the following phrase to yourself -
"I deserve to have millions of dollars and enjoy the things that this money can buy"
Does this phrase invoke any negative thoughts or feelings at the unconscious (ie: gut) level? Its really important to contemplate and to be honest in your answer here (for you own sake). Some possible examples are:
-Money is evil/immoral. Since I consider myself a good person I dont want to associate myself with evil things like that.
-Is it right for me to desire millions when so many people are starving to death in the world?
-What if millions of dollars makes me greedy.
-How will I keep that money to myself - what if friends come after me - what kind of problems will that cause in my life?
-Others may deserve such good fortune, but certainly not me, I have never had such luck.
-I am certainly intelligent enough to make money, but maybe it just wasn't my 'destiny' to become rich.
************************
Survey Questions. Please answer the following 7 questions to the best of your ability.
1. Think about the phrase above and write down some of the negative thoughts/feelings that are invoked at the unconscious level? It can be the same or different as some of the examples listed above - just try to be honest instead of trying to 'look good' or be socially correct:
2. Do you desire to have greater prosperity in your life right now?
3. Which of the following phrases feels the most comfortable for you:
A. "I deserve to be super rich and have TONS of money in the bank and be able to buy any luxury item I want"
B. "I deserve to have wealth and prosperity in my life to do the things I want"
C. "I deserve to have plenty of financial abundance and in my life to live a happy and peaceful life"
4. Which of the following phrases most accurately describes how you feel about yourself:
A. Although I am not perfect, I am a moral person with good values.
B. I am an unethical person who holds corrupt values inside my heart.
5. If you made millions in the stock market, do you think you are they type of person that can handle that sort of money intelligently and responsibly?
6.(optional) What is your gender: Male or Female
7.(optional)When you were a kid growing up, what was the socio-economic class of your family:
A. poor
B. middle class
C. wealthy
**********************************
You can reply public or via PM if you want to keep the answers private. Also, even if you dont want to answer the questions to anyone, it can be an interesting exercise to answer these questions to yourself. However, it must be honest otherwise you cannot uncover your limiting beliefs and subsequently modify then.
This is a non-scientific study. However, there will be some analysis done on the collective answers and a short report will be posted (no posters names will be mentioned).
Thanks for participating!
Best Regards,
Cosmo
PS: This type of 'pop psychology' might not be for everyone (I acknowledge that). In that case, please accept my apologies and ignore this survey.
False Positive Thinking:
Some have discussed with me that they try to think positive but it makes no difference in their life or level of happiness. That is becuase they have fallen into the 'trap' of false positive thinking.
Let me explain. There are some people who are naturally positive thinkers. Positive thoughts are part of their unconscious thinking process. They have genuine self-respect and self-love and relish good feelings of success and fullfillment. They feel the deserve happiness. Because they have an inner sense of security they treat others well also. This is a very healthy type of optimism.
Then there are the false positive thinkers. They consciously repeat positive phrases in an attempt to mask or override the negative feelings inside. This only causes internal conflict and further distress in ones heart. The key is to genuiely like yourself more, have greater self respect and honor your desires. In this way, your unconscious thoughts will naturally become more positive. This change is not easy and will require some initial effort. But once it reaches the unconscious competence level it becomes second nature. Sort of like when you become an experienced driver, you no longer consciously think about what you are doing, you just do it almost unconsciously.
Quote of the Day:
"Thinking big but acting small, is the same as thinking small."
WOW, excellent find kateric! Thanks for sharing. eom
I just came across this PR....A station dedicated soley to the law of attraction? Very interesting read.....
http://biz.yahoo.com/iw/070510/0250952.html
The world looks like a constant stream of energy begging to be picked up by those who desire it.
It is a wonderful Friday here in Salt Lake City. Temp is expected to hit 90 with a little cool down tomorrow for The Race For The Cure! I am looking forward to the race and feeling the energy from over 10,000 people tomorrow morning.
Peace all and let's cure breast cancer for women...
What does the world look like today?
"The road to both Heaven and Hell run parallel."
"Dont look for failure, look for success"
I really enjoyed reading that cintrix (especially on a Monday morning).
This helps prove that it is ok to take a look at your life and notice what you want to change. Letting go is really the second or third step in the desire to change something in your life. You must first recognize the issue/problem...Do your best to let it go...then work on changing it.
Good luck!
Got this and thought it was nice:
A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked,
"How heavy is this glass of water?"
Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.
The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter
It depends on how long you try to hold it.
If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem.
If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm.
If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance.
In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."
He continued, And that's the way it is with stress management.
If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on. "
As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again.
When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden."
"So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow.
Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can"
So, my friend, why not take a while to just simply RELAX.
Put down anything that may be a burden to you right now.
Don't pick it up again until after you've rested a while.
Life is short. Enjoy it!
Here are some great ways of dealing with the burdens of life:
* Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.
* Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.
* Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.
* Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their maker.
* If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.
* If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it
* It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
* Never buy a car you can't push.
* Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.
* Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.
* Never rush headlong into anything, remember the second mouse gets the cheese.
* When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.
* Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.
* You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.
* Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
* We could learn a lot from crayons... Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.
*A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.
lmao that is the second time that ticker has come up for me today in conversation. Yep, I was one of those.
aim, action is indeed necessary and this is one area where the Secret DVD was weak. I think what they meant was the action you take should be something you love to do so much and are so passionate about that it almost feels effortless becuase you LOVE to do it.
Thanks cintrix and right back at you! May this Friday bring happiness to you that will carry through the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!
Your alais looks every familar to me...did you happen to be invested in QBID/QSCAM?
Like most simplistic formulations, The Secret contains truth, but not the entire truth. Worry and negative thoughts can be useful, that's why we have that capability. Should one not wear seat belts in a car, after all, they are not going to have an accident if their thoughts don't attract one? Would a Secret devotee walk alone, unarmed through an inner city neighborhood wearing expensive jewelry? Worry is useful only when it allows one to avoid some potentially adverse situation. 99% of what we worry about is wasted negative mental work, but you still need to retain that ability to perform the 1% necessary worry.
Another thing I have seen on these forums is displeasure at the notion that action may be necessary to achieve thought manisfestation. I know The Secret says it is not. However, I don't believe one can sit in a cave and intensely visualize wealth and an attractive mate, and poof, they manifest themselves without effort. You need to at least meet the universe halfway, get out of the cave, and look for opportunities to fulfill your dreams. If you want to be a best selling author, you have to write a book. If your aspiration is to be a famous actor, you have to at least audition for the part. If you want to win the lottery, you have to at least buy a lottery ticket. I suspect that every 'teacher' on The Secret DVD did quite a bit more than this in achieving their successes.
That said, I do believe that man can achieve what the mind can conceive.
Well, however it worked for you, more power to you. Not too many people are that happy with their current work situations. Good luck with that new job.
Bingo cintrix..."some people worry and obsess more than others."
Maybe my choice of words wasnt completley accurate.....All I know is that I wanted the laptop and great hours bad enough to attract them right back to me (even if it was subconsiously). I was more concerned with landing a solid job to keep the money comming in. Those two items are honestly only a sliver of the benefits I received from this new job. They were more like sprinkles on the icing of the cake :) - The icing was the location, pay and benefits.
Stay positive!
Yeah, well that is what I found contradictory in the whole approach. Nothing wrong with being positive, but realistically, who can be positive about everything? Worry is a form of human nature - some people worry and obsess more than others.
cintrix, you are correct, but your positive thoughts shouldnt be a 'smokescreen' to supress the negative. That is not real positive thoughts, its more denial and inner conflict. I know "The Secret" focused on it that way, but they did emphasize that your positive thoughts and emotions should be 'real'. Sometimes in order to be positive , we must release the negative first. But I understand your point.
I don't think they are against the law of attraction...as cosmo states, one must be aware of the negative thoughts and want to change them. Even though I wasn't completely aware of the thoughts, I obviously desired to atrract them back to me. Also, those two thoughts came before I even found The Secret.
Hey, The Utah Jazz won last night!!!! LOL
Have you read The Secret?
Happy Friday!!!
lol sometimes we use negativity as a defense mechanism. Like "I know I will not get that job" so that you prepare yourself for the worse. Everyone does that now and then.
That's exactly how I read it and since I am the most negative person I know, the law of attraction would never work for me
Right, But we are talking about the law of attraction - from what I remember they tell you in The Secret that you can't think thoughts like "I don't want such and such to happen" because it can't differentiate between negative and positive. So, instead of worrying that the new job was NOT going to give you a laptop, or that the new job was not going to have good hours, you need put a positive spin and think "this new job will most definitely give me the laptop and hours that my other job offered". No?
cintrix, one has to be aware of negatives in order to release it. its very dangerous to supress negatives.
Aren't these two points against the law of attraction?
I was very upset that I lost the laptop I had at the job I got laid off from.
I was worried that my new job would require me to work a standard 8-5 and I would miss the oportunity to continue going to the gym with my friend at the only time of the day he is able to go.
kateric, now THAT is the type of post I like to read - its those more subtle things that we dont pay attention to that often matter the most!
So I posted a few days ago how I used the law of attraction to land myself an excellent job after being laid off (see post #134). As I was typing that post, I left out a few items that I attracted. I was very upset that I lost the laptop I had at the job I got laid off from...I really enjoyed not being tied down to a desktop computer especially when I am at home. Well guess what...???? My new job gave me a laptop! It actually took me quite awhile to put the two together!!!!! Is this proof of the unconcious and concious mind working together? I think so...
Another point I neglected to mention...I was worried that my new job would require me to work a standard 8-5 and I would miss the oportunity to continue going to the gym with my friend at the only time of the day he is able to go. Of course, I get to work my own hours!!!
These points along with the location, benefits, and increase in pay allowed me to take a huge step back and realize that I really did attract this new job! I was amazed that I was able to pull off another significant raise. I will never forget the first day I actually closed my eyes and pictured myself in this job.
The law of attraction really works! Now if I could just use it on the Utah Jazz game tonight?!?!?!?!?!?! LOL
Excellent analogy. I sent that along to a few others. Thanks!!! I also noticed the Positive Thinking board!! The law is spreading....
Thanks for sharing
MOUSE TRAP STORY:
A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package.
What food might this contain? The mouse wondered - he was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.
Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning:
There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!
The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Mr.Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me."" I cannot be bothered by it."
The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The pig sympathized, but said, I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray.
"Be assured you are in my prayers."
The mouse turned to the cow and said "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The cow said, "Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off my nose."
So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mousetrap alone.
That very night a sound was heard throughout the house -- like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey.
The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught.
The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital , and she returned home with a fever.
Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient.
But his wife's sickness continued, so friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig.
The farmer's wife did not get well; she died.
So many people came for her funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them.
The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness.
So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it doesn't concern you, remember -- when one of us is threatened, we are all at risk.
We are all involved in this journey called life.
10 Habits of a Healthy Mind and Attitude
by Dr. Archbald
1. See the good in others
2. Give yourself permission to fail
3. Keep your conscience clear
4. Don't punish yourself
5. Value life's little blessings
6. Accentuate the positive
7. Be the right sort of optimist
8. Accept yourself for who you are
9. Stay with reality
10. Cherish God's love and wisdom
Here's another one:
The first step to attract what you want and working with the
Law Of Attraction is to change or shift your energy.
Everything in this world is made up of energy including us.
Other people pick up on your energy. If it's positive you'll
attract positive people into your life. If you have negative
energy, you'll always attract negative people and negative
situations into your life.
If you find that you are getting exactly what you don't want
or if you find that you are not getting what you want then
there's a very good chance that you're simply sending out
the wrong energy.
In the end you'll attract what corresponds to your energy.
Negative energy attracts negative situations.
Positive energy attracts positive situations. It's really
that simple.
So if you're not getting what you want - you're likely
sending out the wrong energy.
Change your energy - and you'll likely start getting what
you want.
Here is one:
"Step into it" and experience it as though it was or is. However, dont wish for it - that signifies lack. Just step into it.
Like I stated a little earlier on this board, I really enjoy self help reading. I am the kind of person that is open to constant change and I love to feel others energy. I have been told that the energy I put out is so strong that I can walk into a room and turn heads. LOL
The law of attraction is by far the powerful bit of knowledge to hit my brain in a long time. I just want to continue to improve how I use it.
PS - I keep a small clear marble in my pocket every single day to remind myself that I am what I think.
hi kat lovely story... thanks for sharing it doll...
Outstanding - now that is what I LOVE to hear!!! :)
Contagious it is! I have been applying the law of attraction in my life for about a month and a half. It is amazing what I have attracted. For example, a little over 2 months ago I was laid off of my dream job and was devistated. I found The Secrect shortly after and read it in a couple of days. This not only lifted my spirits, but I also used the law of attraction to land a wonderful job. I continually closed my eyes and saw myself at this new job that was very close to my home, excellent pay with kicks ass benefits......
Well, I landed it!!! My job is 4.4 miles from my driveway, I got another significant raise, and the benefits here are almost unheard of. I landed everything I wanted and more.....
And that is just one example of the power of attraction in my life.
Unity...
I do agree with you tictac...
~ The excitement in Rhonda's discovery for her own walk in life is refreshing.
~ And the positive energy she is projecting is no doubt contagious!
i did hun .. loved it .. read some of the book as well..
my favorite was the Book on tape.. i have listened to all of it.
Very powerful postive message.. although it's not a new message, it was delived very well in Rhonda's research and presentation.
Would recommend highly
Will try to blend in more here later..
~ I was on business this weekend and will be in and out most of this week
