PC- how's the full time trading working out for you?
Glad to here you won't be eating turkey alone then this year and will have lots of stories of newfound wealth. :)
Nope. My trading in this method mostly ceased when I had to stop trading because of compliance issues at work in August. Quit that job and have been trading full time for about 5 weeks now, and holding a stock for 3-5 days for a 5% gain won't pay the bills. I still run my program each day and many friends and family have done well following it.
Thanks for your obviously genuine question though...
Is your $3,000 now $100,000 yet? Just curious. I've heard of success stories in similar attempts.
Well I'm glad you enjoy it. Your a nice guy and deserve the best. As for me well, I don't think I will ever be able to be a pro trader. I lack the skill and I like to only risk a few hundred on each stock. Hard to strike it rich that way.
Best of luck PCola.
It is a ton of fun. Instead of leaving for work at 7:30 and getting home at 6:00, I basically work from 9:30-4:00. SO that's 4 extra hours a day I get to spend with my family, which was my main motivation.
I hope you get to try it some day (and of course be successful)!
Great to hear. Man in this market it has to be a real challenge. I am jealous thought because I really think it would be a lot of fun.
Best of luck.
Going very well so far, thanks. I have a thread on Allstocks where I post my trades as often as I can if you're interested in following along.
How are things going for you?
Pcola your trading full time now right? How's that going for you?
New one from Friday that I forgot to post here was RNOW. It got close to the 5% target but I didn't quite hit it.
There are 2 new signals for today. KCI and CVH. Of the two, I'd probably go with CVH. Good luck if you decide to get in eaither.
Oh, and especially for you, TEX (the stock, not you) is one that hit most of my criteria, but fell just short.
Actually, I tried to edit my response. What I intended was, I never took your reports as suggesting anyone should take a position.
oh, yeah--I would never suggest someone take a position, so I understand.
Okay, to be totally honest it was more "nervousness" to suggest others to get in it. I've been making enough with my other strategies that until I have enough money in my account that using multiple strategies doesn't spread my funds too thin, I probably won't be playing many of these myself. But I still plan to run them and keep track of the results.
no...
I disagree: You were "nervous." That's *not* a good state from which to trade.
thick face, black heart
Well, there was one for today, but I totally forgot to post it here. It was SWK, and I didn't buy because I was nervous about the overall market, but of course it hit the 5% target already, so I should have bought.
Well, I finally bit the bullet and decided to try trading full time. I've left my job (though I will be working about 1 day a week in a consultant role to help transition some things), and starting Monday, October 20, 2008, I will be trading again.
I just ran my program and over the last two weeks there would have been 3 signals, and all 3 would have hit the 5% target, so it's good to see that the program still seems to be working.
During the time I was away, a friend of mine developed another algorithm that he paper traded for a few months and went live with it last week. It had incredible returns during his paper trading, so as much as I can, I will try to post his picks here as well. While my original algorithm was one I could post pre-market and post a sell point immediately, his program is more based on price action, so it won't be as easy to follow.
Hopefully this board gets back to being at least semi-active again. I had fun running it earlier this year.
ZOLT is one for today. Still not sure yet if I'll keep it going much longer. We'll see.
No problem PCola..........
I fully understand how you feel. I'd probably be a bit miffed as well about the situation if others were making money on something I had developed, but couldn't play.
Either way...if you return or not, thank you for sharing....and good luck on your endeavors.

Thanks, but you should probably read my post before this one if you haven't yet...
Maybe something will change, and I hope so, because a buddy of mine is in the process of testing another technical trading method that has returned almost 50% on paper in the last month or so, but I fear he'll be reaping the profits without me.
If I do get to start trading again at some point, I'll add his picks to this board as well, but I probably won't do it unless I can trade them too. Sorry to be selfish, but it'd make me too mad if I couldn't take advantage of them while others were.
Bad news folks (for me anyway).
Last week my company decided that my department is no longer exempt from compliance requirements, effective at the end of this week. What this means is that I am now required to clear all trades through our compliance department before making any trades. While that rule by itself would severely hamper my trading, there is also a rule that you can not sell a stock within 60 days of purchase. Obviously that rule eliminates my program as a viable trading strategy.
Chances are, this is the end of my trading, so I don't know how often I'll be posting or reading here after this week. I think it would just make me mad to read about trades that others are making that I can't, so I'll probably just try to stay away.
Good luck to you all.
Thank you PCola
I have a fascination with automated systems and always figure that anyone with a working system will keep it quiet. I was rather surprised and pleased to run across this board (I found you on the bounce board. I love bounce plays.) and your willingness to post your results for all to see is very much appreciated. And yes, I have been playing along with real $$ and made some dough.
Once again..thank you. Here's to your (our! lol) continued success.

There are 4 new ones for today, and honestly I don't know which, if any, I will buy. I wanted to put them out there though, in case any of them interest any of you.
BPFH, DOW, ININ, and MSA
Good luck if you get in any of them.
In VCLK at 10.83
VCLK is a new one for today. Based on pre-market it looks to be opening higher, but I'll probably get in at the open if it doesn't open too much above yesterday's close, probably anything around 10.90 and I'll try to get in.
Good luck if you get in.
Opened at 21.41, closed yesterday at 21.51, and the high of 22.59 just hit, which means it already hit 5% if you got in under 21.52.
BEAV is a new one for today. I will most likely buy unless it opens over $22 or so.
CVH was 30.06 when I posted about it on anotehr board, and INT was 21.65. CVH is now at 32.75, so it easily passed 5%, and INT is about flat.
Two new ones for today INT & CVH. I won't be buying either as I am still in SBGI, but both seem to have pros and cons so I'm not comfortable recommending one over the other.
Good call on this one Pcola. Didnt have the funds to play it, still holding sbgi. Went up a little today so maybe it will rise up to a good price before the divy.
Wow, went nuts today, topping out so far at +17%. Too bad I got out at 6.41 with my 5%.
Another new one for today. FSNM
Insiders keep buying SBGI, and they pay a .20 dividend next week, so I will hold for a bit, but I am also going to buy FSNM at the open.
In SBGI at 8.00 for 1100 shares.
After a long lull in the action (and yes, I have still been runnning my program each day, and just had no recent hits), SBGI is a new one for today. I will try to get in somewhere around $8 most likely.
Good luck if you get in.
It's up now. Was up and down today, I noticed.
Pcola, is A/S down? I cant access it.
I see 2 recent buys, but a TON of sells, for a lot more money. Like $50million worth of sales just in april, vs under $50,000 in buys. I'll keep an eye on it though.
PCola, did LNG come up on your scan. There has been some buys going on and the chart is turning up. Its up big today but it has been beaten down from the 30s to the 6s. Just a heads up.
Its all good. The stock gods really stuck me on this one. its up almost 30 cents since I sold. lol. Oh well, It will get better.
Sorry man. The stock gods sure know how to get in your head, huh? that's why i try to stick with the plan, despite seeing things like FTEK and MTG...
Well, I didnt do worth a squat with WCBO. I held it to long and couldnt get out last week so I got out at 11.66 for 12% loss. Down 13% so far on two trades. I held it due to one reason. FTEK and MTG both dipped hard then ran well. I figured this one would do the same but ooops I was wrong. lol.
Whoops, should have gotten out of WCBO at the close yesterday. Didn't realize it had already been 5 days. Will get out at close today since it's trading about the same place anyway.
Got WCBO at 13.34 at 200 shares. Should have bought in on the dip but meetings take precedence sometimes. lol.
Looks like I never "closed" MTG. It ended the 5th day at 10.77, so I took a 7.5% loss on that one.
