sold nice one OBTC
anybody buying this is begging for a haircut!!---tmonkey
It’s newly available to public now(not just accredited investors). High demand, people thinking it should be equal to or greater than the price GBTC ($50) which has a lower percentage of BTC per share but higher number of bitcoins in trust. It will correct itself at some point. Gbtc traded at a 40% premium forever until split happened 3 years ago.
If your are swing trading you might be safe getting in and out but jf you are seriously
Long term then you mag see this correct to a value closer to its NAV.
Other crypto stock suffer the same plight. Initially very high price to nav but a correction occurs.
But somehow OBTC does not correlate with BTC price at this point. I can’t understand how it is going up.
It’s 0.00034142 bitcoin per share.
That puts it at around $17 today (bitcoin $50k). See link below.
https://ospreyfunds.io/products/
OBTC $16.50 fair value (IMO). Not sure how long the lock up period is. Be careful if insiders sell OBTC, will need to hit $105k btc for the value to get back up to $32. Anyone who above $50 that is rough. Going to be a while to make money back. I think you will eventually get there though.
1,417 Bitcoin total. Outstanding shares 4.7 million.
1,417/4,700,000 = 0.00030149 bitcoin per OBTC share.
So bitcoin $55,000 x 0.0003 = $16.50 per OBTC share...
HS dropout so I may be wrong lol.
Thank you for posting this info
I can't find any information how much bitcoin per OBTC share. GBTC 1 share equals 0.00094898.
anybody that followed my trade in last mail is fat cattin it now!!--i couldnt follow my own trade as my walklet never opened up!!!-what a dog this has been but the writing was on the wall from day 1------tmonkey
$OBTC Osprey Bitcoin Trust Begins Trading as “OBTC” With Industry-Low Management Fee
Press Release | 02/16/2021
Osprey Funds, LLC announced today that its inaugural offering – The Osprey Bitcoin Trust (OBTC) – has commenced trading publicly via the OTC market. The fund is now accessible to all U.S. investors through traditional brokerage and IRA accounts.
Seeking to track the CMBI Bitcoin Index, OBTC provides better access to digital assets with secure, transparent, and low-cost exposure. It has an annual management fee of just 0.49%, making it the lowest-priced publicly traded bitcoin fund in the world.
“As a fiduciary-minded organization, we believe bitcoin deserves a place in every investment portfolio, but at a reasonable price,” said Greg King, CEO of Osprey. “Not only does bitcoin have immense long-term appreciation potential, it also provides portfolio diversification given its low correlation to equities. By bringing OBTC to the market, we are delivering value to advisors and investors by broadening their access to bitcoin but priced more like an ETF, rather than a hedge fund.”
OBTC is backed by experts at Osprey who have invested in bitcoin since 2013 and who have launched over 100 exchange-traded products (ETFs and ETNs) throughout their careers. Members of the management team built their experience at firms such as Barclays, Credit Suisse, Citi, Global X Funds, J.P. Morgan, and PIMCO. OBTC is further supported by best-in-class service providers, including Fidelity Digital Assets as custodian, Grant Thornton as auditor, and Coin Metrics as index provider.

OBTC the thing is tomorrow they could file they added 5k BTCs then what?
the trade would be to buy a coin or part of one and short the same amount of this ticker---couldnt loose??--tmonkey
better to get a piece of a coin istead of paying over-price here--tmonkey
NAV is under $17.00, I get it has lower fees than $GBTC, but that premium is way too high!
