You are probably right that he could do it, but remember, it won't be him that's doing it. Federal Judges in State's with legal marijuana are the one's empowered to take on such cases, or not. I believe these Judge's know they have to work with those in the State and I frankly don't believe any of them will take on the State unless ordered from someone above them.
Frankly, I almost wish a case were brought somewhere. Why? Because I believe such action might bring this to a head in Congress and force the issue. Session's actions by themselves may do this, but if they don't, or if what Congress does is insufficient to stop Justice from acting in State's where it's legal, Congress I believe will act to do more.
The Democrat's and the Republican's may not agree on many things, but when the majority of the public are agreeing on an issue, they normally find a way to get together. The use of marijuana for at least certain medical applications is clearly being accepted by the greater majority of American's, the recreational use may not be as great a majority, but I believe it's at the point of being a small majority. Neither party wants to take a stance against something the American public wants.
Of course all I'm saying is based on what Justice may do, the real question might be, what will Trump try to tell them they must do. I really wish I knew if all that Session's was saying was coming from Session's, or was he getting his orders from a higher authority, not G-d.
