Strong day here, finally recouping my $$
I think it was the 3% rise in oil that brought this up, but I hope it still rises, im down a bit
I was alerted over the weekend to buy yesterday.

The difficulty I see is the debt over hang
coupled with depreciating assets
Hedge funds took control after RS and ran it up
so they are likely Hedged? Just my guess.
Volatility could become even more extreme at these levels
and
If the pipeline deal goes away via market and oil conditions
NES could zero out quickly as this oil predicament could drag out
longer than capital can with stand. Hard to see who would throw more money in
with massive debt over hang.
Interesting times
Floor dropped out again, I should of got out @ 5.70-5.80 range, dont know if I should avg down now or just wait
Nice gains today , holding till over $6
OPEC has declared economic war on the US, attempting to put many American energy companies out of business. The Obama administration is unlikely to respond to this threat given that Obama is already on video as literally and shamelessly genuflecting to the Saudi oil sheiks.
The correct response to OPEC's act of war is to fight back even harder, making moves to put them out of business, permanently. That would involve subsidies to companies developing oil in America, increased funding of Israel's defense industry, and cutting off any defense sales to any OPEC nation and any funding to any OPEC nation or any of their subsidiaries or political pawns, like the Palestinians. Remember, it wasn't all that long ago that Iraq, under Saddam Hussein, threatened to wipe out the Saudi kingdom--and they would have succeeded if not for George H.W. Bush's intervention, costing so many American lives and the loss of billions upon billions of dollars. Just think of what the world would be like today if the US had done the right thing back then and let the Saudis get wiped out before stepping in, and if those billions and billions of dollars had been spent on helping America to become not only energy independent, but a great exporter as well.
Hopefully, one day soon, Americans will wise up and demand that their government leaders take actions to advance, support, and strengthen American businesses against American's enemies.
Most of the volume associated with the recent 25% rise from $7.98 on Nov. 19 to $10.07 on Nov. 26 (with an interim high of $12.78 on Nov. 25) appears to be from longs, rather than from any short covering. Short interest declined by about 11% or about 663,500 shares during this period, but the total volume for this period was more than 4 million shares. Thus the total short position is largely intact even with the recent contract with XTO Energy, the XOM subsidiary. This data indicates that NES reacts positively and strongly to good news--quite apart from any short covering.
I also note that there's some banter that Mark Johnsrud may have done improper insider trading by picking up shares a second time when NES's price fell below $8, purportedly because he had knowledge of ongoing discussions with XTO. Such an accusation seems silly given the timing. This second set of CEO purchases looks to me like a pre-programmed purchase, given the timing of the trades. In other words, another buy action took place triggered by the drop below $8. And this could happen yet again if NES should fall back to below $8 again (though I doubt that will happen anytime soon). But I'm sure the shorts will be filing a complaint with the SEC just because. They are always looking for an angle to support their cause. So when the usual "heavy debt load" mantra wears thin, they come up with a new scenario that "NES is artificially pumping up the price to hammer investors with a secondary."
But with one more solid piece of good news like the XTO deal, and the smarter shorts will begin to run for cover.
Nice to see the CEO buying some stock!
Today was one of the better days in a long time for NES. Hopefully it is the first of many more to come
$NES Roth Capital Maintains Buy On Nuverra Environmental, Sees 112% Upside http://www.smarteranalyst.com/2014/11/07/roth-capital-maintains-buy-on-nuverra-environmental-sees-112-upside/
I have no idea if NES is going up or down in the near future. There are no experts, only educated guessers.
In general, I was pleased with the results today. They signaled to me the beginning of a turnaround.
There are still a lot of issues in terms of debt. This makes me concerned about cash flow flexibility and the ability to grow.
I was encouraged that we finally saw a quarter with a significant increase in revenue, and a stronger forecast for the immediate future. It was also nice to hear some big financial firms asking poignant questions on the conference call, instead of concerned individual stock holders.
Big money is what makes stock prices move. It will only takes one of them to start moving into NES to send the price up quickly. The recipe for a quick rise in stock price is there with a low float and high short interest that will need to cover.
With that said, I would not be shocked to see it go down to $5 in the near future. For the first time in the longtime, however, I think things are pointed in the right direction.
Financial results were significantly better than expected. And as I suggested in a previous post, management is not indicating that future results are weakening, based on the pipeline of activities. Just the opposite.
On the downside, as one analyst put it, Jay Parkinson's departure "raises questions." But I believe that the significant fumble with the planned TFI sale must have played a part, and I'm sure that Jay was disappointed in himself that he didn't help make that happen. But a conference call is not a place to air these issues. I don't see any negative in Jay's departure, however, because all signs indicate that NES is doing the proper accounting, as evidenced by the write-down in goodwill this quarter. The risk of bad accounting just isn't there, which should neutralize negative perceptions ordinarily associated with a CFO leaving. It's not an abrupt departure--but one of transition, so all appears to be on friendly terms. In any event, many investors, in fact, have been calling for Jay to leave even before the TFI fumble because he's been looked at as a "Heckmann guy," and thought that Mark ought to clean house because, let's face it, Heckmann has made a lot of blunders and fumbles. But the smartest thing he did was to bring in Mark. So Mark should make the choice of NES's CFO.
I just finished listening to the conference call. I think NES has began to turn the corner. More positive than negative.
I think we have the beginning of the turnaround. I suspect some shorters will cover tomorrow. Let's see where we are at three months from now.
I think the theme of tomorrow's conference call will be that the price of oil is not so far down, nor expected to be so low, that US energy growth will be adversely affected, nor Nuverra's prospects dampened. Management may even say they've seen no indicators of a slowdown in development.
As for what specific results to expect, I note one significant change from the past pattern. In the last previous 6 quarters, the stock price has always gradually increased over the week preceding the financial reporting date--only to sell off when management disappointed the market. This is the first quarter in some time when that didn't happen, and, in fact, the opposite has occurred, as NES has fallen lower and lower as we approach the day before the announcement. Why is this significant? It means that investors following NES no longer have positive expectations, have already priced-in a weak report, and many have thrown in the towel. If NES reports results at least close to expectations, the market is likely to react by rallying the stock. Also, because of the huge short interest, if there's even a flat to only slight up response, some covering is likely to take place.
Anyone have reason to believe that we will be pleasantly surprised with some good news tomorrow instead of a bunch of excuses with more promises for the future?
Why does this stock suck so bad!!!!! Biggest waste of money in my life!!!! Fu nes

A few NES insider buys plus Stifel Nicolaus picking up coverage with $20 PT certainly helps. About 30 more days like this and I'll break even!
Solid upside move today....up 12%
Good news and bad news. Bad news first. TFI sale will not be resolved by end of August as originally planned. Sounds like VeroLube wants to reduce cash payment by $30 million and increase stock payment by some unstated amount. If NES goes with this new plan, the new close would be the end of September. Alternatively, NES may have another interested party, as they aren't bound to a sale with VeroLube after the end of August.
Good news is that the Company's business is improving in the Shale Solutions Segment, particularly in the Bakken Shale area.
-----------------------------------------------
Nuverra Environmental Solutions (NES) (“Nuverra” or “the Company”) today provided an update on the status of its previously announced agreement to divest Thermo Fluids, Inc. (“TFI”), as well as an interim update on key initiatives.
TFI Sale Update
Nuverra has been informed by representatives of VeroLube USA, Inc. (“VeroLube”) and its financial advisor that VeroLube is proposing a reduction in the purchase price for TFI from the previously agreed total of $175 million to a revised total purchase price of $145 million. Nuverra was further informed that the proposed revised purchase price of $145 million would include a stock component that may be greater than the previously agreed upon $10 million. VeroLube has proposed a revised transaction closing date of September 30, 2014.
VeroLube and its financial advisor informed Nuverra that they have finalized the debt component of their financing strategy, and believe they could finalize the equity component in the next several weeks.
Nuverra is currently evaluating the revised VeroLube proposal. The exclusivity period with VeroLube, which prohibits Nuverra from negotiating with other interested parties, ends on August 29, 2014.
Interim Update
Nuverra also provided mid-quarter business commentary and an update on certain strategic initiatives. As previously disclosed, the Company undertook an initiative in the second quarter of 2014 to rationalize revenue, which resulted in some lost revenue in the second quarter with the anticipation that revenue growth would re-commence as the effect of price increases, stronger customer relationships in certain basins, and a revised business mix took effect.
Based on actual unaudited July results and preliminary unaudited interim results in August, the Company has seen an increase in activity in its core Shale Solutions Segment sequentially relative to the second quarter. Revenues in the Shale Solutions Segment in July increased in excess of 10% relative to average monthly revenue in the second quarter, with a more pronounced increase in the Bakken Shale area. The Company has also continued to see strong growth in disposal volumes, and a gradual improvement in rental activity following late second quarter weakness in the Bakken Shale area.
The Company has advanced contractual discussions on the pipeline project discussed in its second quarter earnings release, and remains on track to open its solid treatment facility in the Bakken Shale in the fourth quarter of 2014.
The Company’s TFI segment, which had been impacted this year by a fire which shut down the re-refinery that is one of TFI’s largest contracted offtake partners, has seen business improve, as the re-refinery re-opened in July and is currently forecasted to operate at full capacity in September. While seasonality can impact the business, Adjusted EBITDA for the segment in the month of July reached its best levels of the year, supported by strong collection volumes as well as improved margins due to the sale of more product to the newly re-opened re-refinery.
The mid-quarter information provided herin is based upon preliminary, unaudited financial results and is not indicative of future performance for the remainder of the fiscal quarter. The Company undertakes no obligation to publicly update or revise the mid-quarter information provided herein.
This stock is dead money for at least 2 quarters. You can already bet that Q4 and Q1 of 2015 will disappoint due to weather issues.
The big downers were that the H20 Forward program being put on hold and that they walked away from business due to profit targets not being met. I'm worried because they only have 3 million of cash on hand and are talking about building a pipeline.
The only good thing I was able to take away from the CC was that their margins improved, but only slightly. When will this company turn a profit?
Horrible, horrible...just wish someone would take them out of their misery and buy them out...at $13?
I think it will be positive and show NES has finally turned the corner. Will they make a profit, probably not. Guidance will be huge for me. Interested to see how HAL partnership doing, thermal treatment center, treatment center in Eagle ford and TFI update.
Q3 could be the big one where this PPS gets some good recovery.
short term 20 plus, imo
I'm expecting that next weeks quarterly results will be generally positive, but still will fall short of turning a profit because of the 5.5 million one time lawsuit payout. This will send the stock to low 20's, but any significant re-bound is still 3-6 months away when an actual profit is recorded. What are your expectations?
It seems to do this every Q. About 3 weeks out from reporting fins it takes dip then about 1 week before it reports it climbs again. It all depends on what they report and selling TFI and then this will start dropping the short interest
Well, We'll see. HAL is a leader in the industry, NES....not so much. If NES can break above 22....and head upwards and stay over $25, that would a good thing. It's been in a trading pattern between 15-21, so, we will see if it breaks above a resistance of 21 or whether this is headed back down to 15.
HAL stock has been on a tear...taking NES with it. The big shorts are out right now. This is an accelerated growth story. My cost is $23...and it's been a painful wait...hoping it will get to $40++
unfortunately, people bought this in the $40s when Heckmann was basically selling a bunch of lies.
So what do think? was that some covering today or what
I am on record that once Dick Heckmann was out of the picture, this company would do well. I AM RIGHT!
I told all you haters this stock was going up. Bought in at 14.44.
buy/ sell ratio about even. Who knows why. But I have a feeling we see this 17-19 range for next few months.
Enjoying the upward trend, but not sure why. Does anybody have any insight.
Tornadoes in the Bakken oil field can not be good.
Short covering....real reason why stock was up sharply. Shorts will come back, especially if there are any problems on the sale. PS - I think I heard the excuse "weather" at least 20 times!
Closing TFI is critical. If we close in the next 2 months, I'm betting we can look forward to the positives found in the CC & analysts' comments.
Really? I thought the CC was tremendous.. They had issues in the 1q but still managed a revenue beat (which is all that matter in a growth company). Hell, they only missed EPS by .01.. They are projecting strong revenue growth throughout the year and unlike The last time the data on permits, rig count, E&P capex also suggest strong growth in drilling. Also upgrade by analyst today and up 15% so far suggests that everyone else is as IMPRESSED as I am! They also talked about growth prospects which includes pipelines, new treatment facility, more sign ups for Halliburton joint venture, new treatment facility being built, strong demand for the landfill. Don't forget the sale of TFI which will reduce debt.
Went through the CC transcript. Very uninspiring. A bunch of talk about the bad weather causing a big problem again but instead of saying there will be a rebound to normal levels (with good weather) we have this:
"We're not forecasting a rapid acceleration in Q2, but rather we're thinking Q2 as a transition into a stronger second half."
I really didn't hear anything particularly good. Usually I'd hear things and think there was a problem but they're on the verge of doing well. I didn't get that feeling. I'll be staying out of the stock. Maybe it will do well some day but from the start of Heckman to now the concept, the execution and of course the stock have not worked. I have no reason to think it's changed.
bailed recently. Finished getting out on the recent strength. I have some biotechs I love that got destroyed in this great rotation and didn't want to take a chance on a margin call.
I lost my confidence in NES a while ago when I began to be concerned the problem may have become the competition may be hurting them and squeezing margins. Wanted out before earnings anyway, I have too many stocks that blew up lately let alone the general biotech massacre.
DWO=death warmed over! Hearing some real bad news about quarter. Let's see if my source is right!!!!
