But CAD is a thing from the 70s... Next generation technologies (metaverse) will make converting CAD to 3D models pointless - which can already be done anyways using various free software

Interesting but this is not what Nextech’s software does. Nextech’s converts CAD files to interactive 3D images that can be used in AR contexts. CAD files are basically digitalized mechanical drawings from manufacturers.

This patent isn't actually anything new as Sony filed it on June 23, 2021, however, the patent office took issue with some of its claims requiring the tech giant to rework some details and resubmit. It would seem that, as of yesterday, Sony and the patent office have begun moving forward with the process following updates and revisions by Sony.

existing NEXCF customers barely even use the tech.. poor/no integration with other techs. contracts probably wont be renewed. useless.

ie: small contract to trial the product, thus no real risk for the larger companies - while smaller companies would never pay this much for the same thing
