$NQ BIG NEWS OUT!
Perhaps, but the volatility is where the money can be made, but you have to be careful.
The Bitcoin/Blockchain hype has created quite an opportunity. Too early to go long....in my opinion. Get in and get out.
Another BS trying to introduce blockchain and bring the price up. I’d stay away on this propaganda
Definately a nice week, and nice it's holding up, though the big pot of cash is still in question...

NQ Mobile Soars On Potential $708 Million Asset Sale -- Barron's Blog
6 hours 10 minutes ago - DJNF
By Shuli Ren
Troubled China mobile security provider NQ Mobile ( NQ) jumped 45% in after-hours trading after announcing two deals that will give the company much needed cash and credibility.
NQ Mobile is selling its online game publishing unit to one of Tsinghua Holding's investment unit, in a deal valued at a minimum of 4 billion yuan ($626 million). Tsinghua has famously expressed its interest to buy U.S.-based Micron (MU).
But here is the caveat: the final sale price will be determined by an independent valuer, said NQ, so this deal is nowhere close to the finishing line yet.
Separately, NQ Mobile said it had reached an agreement to sell Beijing NationSky Network Technology Co. to NationSky's founder and Chief Executive Hou Shuli for $80 million in cash. This deal is more immediate.
As of Wednesday's market close, NQ Mobile had only $271 million market cap.
NQ Mobile has lost over 85% of its market value since short seller Muddy Waters launched an attack slightly less than two years ago.

LOAD THE BOAT!!!
*cough*
Awesome!!!
VLDI, KNDI and LIVE. These are all speculation plays (not shells). However I would wait for a pullback before getting your feet wet. As always....do you own DD. And of course diversity...don't put all of your eggs in one basket. I'd study there products, current events and strategic missions/objectives. .
Good move...Nothing wrong with taking a profit if you can. A ton of shorts covered today. I don't see too many new people getting short positions now that don't already have them. I believe that this is the start of a run. I could be wrong and have been known to be wrong before but... We will see.
Where the other opportunities? Can you pls suggest some stocks?
Their profits are declining and for a reason that was not explained by the company and their guidance did not address this issue. So from a risk mgmt perspective you probably did the right thing. I may cut my position in half. There are other opportunities that look better IMO.
I don't have time to wait, I dumped already at 4.20
I'm not looking at this report thru rose-colored glasses but NQ had to do a lot of cleaning house to get their financials and their reporting in order to be trusted by Western investors. I believe that is why the 4x or 19.9 million loss is an effort to come clean and gain some trust back from investors. The company is making money. I see it as a one time thing rather than a systemic issue. at any rate the company's valuation as it stands right now, very under valued. This is an 8 dollar stock. I think they are taking the right steps to get to where they need to be and I believe that this first qrt report will come quicker than people think. I think it was planned that they would one-two punch those reports to give the stockholders a boost plus with the buy-backs, feels like a good attempt at settling the issue over any questionable financial standing. IMHO.
I don't see the recent news that great. Gross profits fell and the loss is 4X what they lost in the same quarter one year ago. Future guidance seemed week as well... no forecasted metrics (sales, etc.). So i was a little disappointed in what appears to be a downward trend in P&L.
Also...WHY was the loss 4X what it was a year earlier. Why no explanation of that from the CEO and whether or not the factors behind that negative trend and whether those factors will continue to play a role going forward? I only have 850 shares of this but I'm sitting on a 1K paper loss thus far.
Even though we didn't get the huge bounce, I think the stock has turned the corner. $5 will come over time in the near future. There couldn't be better news but people are skittish for some reason. IDK. NQ is doing everything on their end though to right the ship and get right with investors. PPS should climb over the next few months.
MODS, Solid board, thanks for the DD.-reconranger
Great earning and great conference call. Looking good. I'm long on NQ and ELTP and X. Have a good day and happy trading.
I absolutely agree my friend
What will it take for NQ to become a $20 stock again. Their business sheets looks great. Great quarterly revenue.
Everything depends on what type of volume at the opening. NQ averages something like 19% shorts. The pps is 1 dollar off its 52week low of 3.22. This stock is still cheap. If there is any significant volume tomorrow, a significant number of those shorts will go ahead and cover. AH volume around 200k is nothing to sneeze at and up nearly 9%. They will cover first thing and take a small loss, rather than test what will happen later on if they were to wait. I hope if NQ moves, it is a good move. It is about time.
News!!!!!!
Record Quarterly Net Revenues of $89.7 million, a 32.2% increase year-over-year from $67.9 million in the same period in 2013.
Gross profit for the fourth quarter of 2014 was $26.5 million, a 19.9% decrease from $33.1 million in the same period in 2013.
Shorts are going to GET Killed Thursday trying to cover. Thanks. And have a great day.

Our Industry
In the past decade, advances in wireless technologies and increasingly sophisticated yet affordable mobile devices have led to robust demand for mobile Internet services. Mobile entertainment and other functionalities have enabled mobile phones to symbolize a lifestyle and to no longer serve as a mere means of communication. As of December 31, 2011, there were 6.0 billion mobile subscribers worldwide, and the number of mobile subscribers worldwide is expected to reach 8.4 billion by the end of 2016.
Early mobile services were primarily based on short message service, or SMS, technology and were largely focused on other simple applications. Advancements in mobile technology and devices have led to the development of a new generation of advanced services, which address the need for more effective and efficient use of mobile devices. The increasing variety and complexity of applications and services available, including image-sharing, location-based services, emails, social network and personal information management, have integrated mobile devices usage as a part of our lives. Also, the advent of cloud platforms has further accelerated the demand and usage of mobile internet services.
Developers have created a large universe of mobile applications to meet growing user requirements. The applications developed started by addressing the needs of consumers and later extended to serving enterprises. The mass adoption of applications makes mobile devices increasingly susceptible to security threats due to the increasing mobile data traffic associated with mobile device usage. According to Cisco's VNI Mobile Forecast, global mobile data traffic was 597 Petabytes per month in 2011, the equivalent of 149 million DVDs each month or 1,646 million text messages each second, and is expected to grow approximately 18-fold from 2011 to 2016, reaching 10.8 Exabytes per month in 2016. The average smartphone generated 150 megabytes of mobile data traffic per month in 2011 and is expected to grow approximately 50-fold from 2011 to 2016, at a compound growth rate of 119% and representing 48% of total mobile data traffic in 2016. The proliferation of applications on mobile devices has led users to process and store more personal data on mobile devices, and has created the need for third-party mobile services to help users protect privacy, manage their personal data and privacy protection more efficiently, and optimize the performance, security and privacy of their mobile devices in a secure environment.
Our Competitive Strengths
We believe the following strengths enable us to proactively identify the trends of the mobile industry and develop innovative services to address user needs, thus making us a pioneer of the fast-growing mobile security, privacy and productivity services industry:

Our goal is to further expand and monetize our large and rapidly growing user base and become a global leader in the mobile security, privacy and productivity services industry. Our mobile phones have become mini-computers that we customize with apps to make our lives easier and more fun. However, because not all apps are safe and secure, mobile security is an absolute must.
