Hi Ecomike
Can you provide a link to the NM dividend report?
Thanks!
LOL, one day or a steady uptrend? I saw a nice dividend report on NM recently, looked huge??? Time to check under the rug here again???
BDI on a tear. Up 6.46 percent
The good news is that inflation looks to be in check for many years now, giving room to raise wages and raise demand from the lower and middle classes world wide. That could make for one more run away stock market rally or for some stocks to rally. That makes it a stock pickers market now!!! Also makes DD king!!!!
Seems like the BKs / mergers are already happening as I noticed GNK is gone. FREE looks next. SBLK making new nows. FRO appears to be the only solid one out there? Think I will stay away...
I doubt it, but I am watching long term for effects of the mega China silk road project initiative to have positive and negative effects on the BDI. Positive short term as they import coal and iron ore to build it all (good for NM if it can overcome the drop and slowdown in other China building), and bad long term when completed as it will be a land route that competes with ocean shipping?
But the land route is to Africa and Europe.
And not to Australia or South America or the US where NM does their business, so who knows. If Alibaba can pull off massive US exports to Asia (there new growth plan per the CEO this week) and fill the empty cargo ships returning to Asia that are usually empty it might help other cargo container shipping stocks, but ti do not think NM has those ships???.
Right now I suspect there will be waves of BKs in shipping stocks on the next down turn, so it is hard to say if any bounce is possible for years. Dilution, and bad for stock holders mergers is my biggest fear here. The Greeks could hurt the sector bad if they leave the Euro zone or default and spill over into NM.
Has the BDI finally bottomed out?
Then I may need to watch NM and Nmm for a bottom this year to load up div paying shares
Y, I believe 6 cents
Wow, nothing like a consensus rating there, LOL. And all too funny how they say the earnings was a miss, LOL.
I am putting NM and NMM on watch this year as well as the BDI index and oil prices.....
Is NM still paying a dividend?

FWIW,,,the BDI is about to turn up!
The problem is we're getting into the inclement weather time of year for shipping and the Chinese New Year,,,,always a slow down.
US Dollar inverse?
Get ready,,,NM is under accumulation!
Amazing buying opportunity. $15.00 in 3 years.
Can't find a specific reason - I think its the industry, not the company.

Numbers not bad but dividend cut. They will host an investors forum in NYC...They cant lie can they?
Impressive data on IHUB if correct.
EPS P/E
1.40 3.80
The dividend % is way down, due the stock price rally. I wonder what the entire current story is on the P/E long term.

I was in NM and it's sister GP NMM, but got out when the BDI tanked again and never trusted the incestuous financial deals between NM and NMM that inflates their ship asset book values at 3-4 times market prices!!!
Why alpha author is long on NM?

Life is a living contradiction, embrace that, and stick with the best run company in the world, NAVIOS
Cape ship rate in the BDI way up 10% today! Cape rate is nearly double the other 2 rates, Panamax was down some. We are definetly getting conflicting signals world wide!
OMG don't be on the wrong side of this trade please.....
Luckily Angeliki addressed this issue in the recent teleconference that I listened to in it's entirety UGHH!.
To paraphrase, "we don't negotiate fees already contracted out. This would fall to our insurance carrier if they choose to. We are fully insured for that rate."
not at all, in fact i added substantially at $3.60 Im just trying to fly low key for a while, under the radar if you know what i mean...
IW. I see that you removed NM as a board mark. Are you out? I know you were a large shareholder at one point.
Maybe it's a angel investor! Angeliki we know it's you :) Thank you for giving us confidence!
Luckily for us someone or some entity has definitely taken a liking to NM. Look at last weeks trading. Early last week someone took out all the stock under $3.50. If you looked at the chart it looked exactly as the chart today when someone took out all available stock under 3.70. They take it to a level and buy all available at that level. We may see a little pullback back I don't expect much if at all. I see a 6-10 million investment from a hedge fund buying on the open market or the company continuing or completing it's previously announced open market buyback program. All in my honest but humble opinion.
I've got my orders in. Can you explain the area of the conference call where NM was assigned a value of only .20 a share? Was that based on the book values of NNA and NMM on a per share valuation and it's worth to NM? I think the value of NNA plus NMM combined to NM was $2.93?
