At this point we don't have good visibility as to why the bonus and RSU grant were awarded. Based on how things often work in tech companies, we could speculate it is one of the following:

+ performance bonus
+ retention bonus
+ compensation for extraordinary duties
+ grants ahead of a uptick in revenue/profitability

In terms of performance bonus, the company has made solid progress on controlling costs and managing cashflow, but that seems a bit generous for that scenario.

Retention bonus is a solid possibility -- job market is heating up and Holt has some real achievements under his belt. He'd be able to move to a similar position with better pay pretty easily. With all that is going on with MVIS and his participation, it very well could make sense to offer the bonus to retain him.

Extraordinary effort -- working on a M&A deal chews up a ton of time and effort from the accounting department. Very possible a deal is all but done and they are rewarding his efforts on getting it done.

Improved Prospects currently seems like the most likely scenario. Company is on much better footing with the prospects of real revenue starting to flow in by the end of the year. Setting up those contracts and everything to support those deals is not insignificant. Also likely a recognition that Holt had been below market for the past however long due to the company not doing particularly well and they are making up for it now that they can.

Honestly, with their focus on financial controls, the fact they feel they can splash this kind of bonus tells me they are confident in the direction the company is going.

You need to understand Business, before you complain. Lots of companies have REVENUE, but no profit. There are things such as Research, Development, salaries, rent, utilities, interest expenses, and the list goes on. Depreciation is a BIG ITEM. Depreciation is a non cash event, but... it lets ANY company use it to lower their net income. (for MVIS, they have Revenue with NO Expense to GET the Revenue...Royalty income)

You like to shout that the company has no profit, but for how many years did Amazon not even PLAN for a profit? Too many years!!! and today? Lots of profit. Think about the sales they would need, the personnel they would need, the cost to bring $500,000 to the Gross Profit Line!! But instead, they let another company spend all that money, and they receive Gross Profit for free !!! Lots of People get paychecks for working, spending 40 hours a week, plus drive time, just to get a paycheck that disappears paying bills. Now the same people are getting a check for NOT WORKING...and they are paying their bills, but not making Extra money, so you can say the same thing... they are not making any money. Right?

Get off your high horse, look again at the company and what they do make, how much money they bring in, and why do they bring in the money? Their products actually WORK!

$14.20's support held once again with a strong bounce -- 4th time with conviction. Not expecting anything crazy real soon, but any sort of good news could send this back up into the $20s.

It does look like some short positions were covered on the way down, but most of the shares went back out. I think someone didn't get the memo and is going to have a very bad day in the near future.

And here we see a drawback of fund buying after Russell 2000 inclusion: almost 18million shares were purchased by funds/institutions at close on the 25th and once everything settled on the 29th became available for borrowing by the shorts.

Institutional buying picked up as we approached $15 last few times we tested the support floor, and became particularly strong as we tested the $14.50 range giving us what appeared to be a hard floor.

My expectation is we will see continued downward pressure toward this hard support level while large short positions are quietly closed and converted to long positions. Another push to drive us through that floor of support is probable, but will most likely fail as institutional buying kicks in and will end up trapping shorts that don't learn from history and set us up for a nice run up as PR hits for the different catalysts coming up this summer.

I have to disagree with you on this one Howard.

Sharma definitely has his flaws, but overall he has done well.

+stabilized company finances
+stabilized/bolstered company value/share price
+oversaw completion of development of this most commercially promising product line ever
+has been a lot more forthcoming with investors on where the company is at and what they are working on

Tell me how the previous couple CEOs did better.

As for no product, I call complete BS on that claim and you know it. Display engine in HL2 has been proven and acknowledged. IVAS is built on the HL2 platform and Army has commended Microsoft for taking control of the supply chain immediately after we sold a production line to the April 2017 customer, so we are very confident IVAS is using the MVIS display engine also.

Long Range LiDAR (automotive LiDAR) development has been completed and is being evaluated by automakers. MVIS is in a position to be first to market with a Level 3-5 suitable product. I would much rather see us win business based on actual performance rather than talking about non-binding agreements like some of the other LiDAR companies are doing. When it comes right down to it, what good is an agreement if there are no sales associated with it?

As for share price, what do you expect the share price to do before people come to their senses? The trading range for the past month has been $14-22.50 with most of that activity in the $17-21 range. We are still $3.50 above where we were a month ago. When people realize that these are not new authorized shares, but shares that have already been authorized and priced in almost a year ago what do you think will happen? When they realize that these shares are going to institutional investors and not flooding the retail market, what do you think will happen? When they realize this is going to be LESS THAN 8 MILLION shares what do you think will happen?

I am disappointed Howard, in the past you have been a bit critical, but at least displayed the ability to process and understand the available information and make informed comments. Now you are just tossing out the same tired talking points of the paid bashers. I miss the old Howard who at least contributed to the conversation.

Seems some people can't stand news! Lets look at this logically. Company may need money to buy material for a large order (where you deposit money first, before they manufacture your merchandise)

Big order? Wow, that would be great! Maybe they sell a few shares.. at $17~18~$19 a share.. how many to get to 140 million? Just 8 million shares at $17 if they were to sell the TOTAL amount, which they have never done.

They might sell a few million shares...won't hurt any shareholders..and who would be buying these shares? Not retail investors, but INSTITUTIONAL buyers.... people with Millions of $$$ to invest.

So the individual investor has nothing to worry about. Now the Short Sellers, and the Pessimists always find a reason to try and scare people. Remember.. revenues from Royalties up 25% in the 1st Quarter..I wonder how much they will increase in the 2nd Quarter, which is still happening as I type, and you are reading. If you look for the bad news, you can scare people. If you look for the silver lining, you can ALWAYS find good things happening. (Some 2017 customer got a big 1.9 BILLION $$ order from the Army, and they pay Royalties to Microvision for the Chip) Wonder if they increase production???

Hard to take Investorplace or SeekingAlpha pieces seriously -- they will publish just about anything without so much as a fact check it seems. Not uncommon for them to have multiple pump and hit pieces on the same stock in a single week.

Something else they try and gloss over by saying MVIS is a MEME stock or Reddit darling is that we went from sub-$1 to stable $5+ range before our first mention on WallStreetBets. All we have really gained from WSB is volatility and the nervousness associated with wild swings.

The steady stepping up in value has come from company moving their product development forward, stabilizing their financial situation and laying out a clear path for the company.

All that info tells us that MVIS has adjusted the trading and consolidation range upwards from where it was and established stability. Repeated testing of lower support limits have held and there is a favorable set up forming.

With Russell 2000 inclusion coming on 6/25, along with other near term catalysts $20 buy doesn't look bad right now, but doesn't have quite the certainty and upside potential as when we were saying $14 buy a month or so ago.

The shorts really tried this morning. They borrowed another 1.3 million shares and managed to push it down a bit. Looks like a few covered before it bounced right back. That should terrify anyone sitting with a short position.

Monthly options expiring this Friday.

Inclusion in Russell 2000 on the 25th.

Production for initial IVAS shipments are gearing up.

We have practical deadlines approaching rapidly for auto makers to decide what features go into the 2024 vehicles (hint: advanced driver assist will become more of a standard feature, and LiDAR makes those systems more accurate, responsive and reliable).


Should be interesting over the next few weeks.

Also based on comments from Sharma we believe the display engines going into the IVAS version of the product will probably be covered under a different, more lucrative agreement. His statement was something along the lines of 'the April 2017 customer has licensed a specific part for a specific product.' There appears to be data supporting that the version of the display engine in the IVAS platform is slightly different than that being used in HoloLens2.

Unfortunately it appears that the royalties from HL2 parts is not as lucrative as we would have hoped, but I am still somewhat optimistic that overall deal will be good for MVIS.
