To:tsoprano-1 I do not engage in ad hominem, however, you do come across as "all knowing" & YOUR opinion, in your mind anyway, seems to be the only one that carries the day. You even try to double down & suggest that Sprott may be wrong & assume as to the reasons why, but of course, you're not wrong, I guess you've been to Metanor & done an exhaustive analysis, just as Sprott did. The other factor is your whining, as I previously stated, the market does not care at all & your opinion does not bring anything new to the table, that everyone else already knew. So why don't you just sell the stock & spare the rest of us with your misery index, it would be a much happier outcome for all.
Appreciate the long insult. Could have done it in so many less words. While you may have "hundreds" of shares I simply have a shade under a quarter million. And while I understand the value goes up and down with the POG, I am simply stating that MEAOF has underperformed magnificently. Since you just got started with them, maybe in your eyes they are an undiscovered gem. To those that know the track record, it is undiscovered for a reason. Poor management. As I said before, they should have much lower all in costs. As you can see by today's announcement few people care anymore. There are gold producers that can make money at these prices and that is where smart money is going. Why Sprott got involved is hard to say. I suspect he might have been averaging down from his investment a few years ago. It was during an interview that he mentioned Metanor and there multiple gold areas. Unfortunately, gold was going down and the stock price with it. Maybe he got fooled by there overly hyped PRs. Don't care. He makes mistakes like everyone else. If you feel compelled to respond with another long winded insult, please don't. You are not going to change my view. Only results will do that.
T
To:tsoprano-1 The {bottom line} problem with your diminished expectations & bewildered frustration, is that you're looking @ MEAOF through the myopic lens of "segregated isolation". If you carefully look back @ the last 3-5 years you claim that you have been around MEAOF, you should also have been paying close attention to the price of gold & the drubbing that the miners have had to suffer through{including the majors in the space},so WHAT were you expecting when miners lost as much as 90% of their value?? It's always helpful when looking @ value, to keep it in CONTEXT of what the overall space has & is doing, without it, you end up where you're @, frustrated, misguided & ultimately arriving @ eroneous conclussions, whilst selling too early for meager or no returns at all. The bull market is just starting, this will make THE SECTOR extremely attractive for takeovers, JV's, expansion, etc. The $$$ have already started flowing, with major well known investors{ie. Soros, Druckenmiller, Sprott, et al} piling into the gold/mining sector, therefore, over the next 1-4Yrs. the pain once experienced, will turn into the profits once longed for. If you think that you've "suffered" due to the PM/miners correction, let me state that the marketplace does not care, most everyone in that space has taken a direct hit. The question that you have to ask yourself however, is: "Am I smarter & more well informed about MEAOF than Sprott is, who had boots on the ground & hence purchased about 7+ Million Shares?" By the way, how many hundreds of shares do you own?
Read my post again. I have been around this company 3-5 years. No impatience here. Closer to being accused of falling in love with a stock. Lots of unexplainable disappointments. After loan paid off no improvement on bottom line. Two PPs and poor results drilling. But, as I said I am staying around.
T
I know that when management is unresponsive to apparent opportunities in the advancement of the Co., in some people's minds they see a red flag. Unfortunately, since we are not part of the "team", it's impossible to extapolate whatever is going into a picure that reflects complete accuracy. There are many reasons why a Co. may want to keep its shares down such as: Management enrichment through discounted options based on the SP, the lower, the cheaper it is to accumulate. Another would be that a low valuation makes it much more interesting to possible suitors & bargain hunting investors, once the news is out, the SP makes a large jump, taking into account the fact they are producing 10's of thousands of gold ounces per anum{This is NOT a start-up}. I would also point out that when sprott bought the # of shares he did, there must have been a very good reason for it, not to mention that he probably got a seat or two on the board, as gold is currently entering a bull market, this tide WILL lift all boats. Sprott is considered the #1 guru when it comes to mining shares and hitching your wagon to success is a proven winning strategy. In conclussion: Making decisions based on impatience, fear, greed, incomplete/absent or self-prejudiced "facts", will only lead to dissapointment. "Sell in haste, repent in leisure" GLTA
Shaark, as much as I love a conspiracy theory, I can't see it here. I am stuck and have decided to go down with the ship, if necessary. But, realistically, it would be hard to find worse management. Look at the last few quarters all in cost. I thought once they paid off the loan and had 1/2 mil+ per month extra a month they would be profitable. I had no clue how bad they were managed. Right when things should have started to turn they instead did a PP. inconceivable. They came out later with news deemed worthy of a halt in the stock. Then results were late and when announced, were no great shakes. Then another PP but with Sprott. Then Sprott buying in the open market. Again, fooled. There are literally dozens of producing companies that are better investments. If these guys have the goods, management will screw it up, IMO. Not sure how Sprott figures into this but it is the only reason to stay. Maybe if the mill and NOLs are really worth something to someone, they could get bought. I used to think all this drilling was to shore up reserves, but not so sure since it hasn't lead to anything so far. As I said, I am sticking with this until it goes down or hits .15, whichever comes first.
T
The Co. is a PRODUCER, therefore it has value, there are many, many times where a SP does not reflect or correlate with the undelying worth{ie. silver as priced in paper terms, rather than in "true market" bullion/physical terms} I believe W.B made his billions in this very fashion, looking for & buying undervalued stocks. Anyhow, once the "backroom boys" get their slimy fingers on the stock, they will pump & re-inflate this puppy to kingdom come, afterall, that IS what they do, day-in & day-out, they are masters at their "craft". In conclussion: Therefore, if you hold on to your shares until such time as when the reversal occurs, due to to the aformentioned action, you will ride upwards, but patience is KEY, if you panic, you're done. Lastly, with negative rates ubiquitous, gold will become one of the premier investment vehicles in the foreseeable future{includes: miners, physical, numismatic & even paper representations such as GLD. GLTA
So they would rather ruin this company than mitigate their greed. At this point if they take it down that far, this company is done...nobody will touch it, it will become a pariah. Can't management control the MM's better than this?
The trick pony in this whole sordid mess is CAPITULATION, then & only then will the "real" manipulators come out in the light. If they can maneuver the SP down to 1C or even a fraction thereof, that's where they want to go, stockholders will be so friggin' tired of absolutely nothing{no meaningful forward stock action}, that they will sell in frustration & desperation & that's when the "boys in the back room" will sweep up the entire damn enchilada. How long? Answer: However long it takes, they have deep pockets for this very thing. The one ray of hope is if gold goes parabolic, then they lose their edge! GLTA
Yeah Shaark, Cork, 46, I've been sitting on .5M shares bought @ .045 for months now, it started to perform and then stopped cold, who ever is controlling the trading action just WILL NOT let it climb, not even a few tenths of a cent, with 10's of millions of shares traded this year, the selling is just relentless! The folks over at stockhouse.com continually blame the management...fair enough but, I think it is deeper than that, meaning the market makers. How cheap do they want it, they must have all the shares they need by now at much less than .07, why don't they just let it run, surely that is where the big profits would be?
Signed,
Totally Miffed
The alternative to an all inclusive buy-out would be a JV. A concentrator (is one even needed at 8 gm/t) and mill buildout to accomodate the Barry properties might be a nice option to start. My concern is that Osisko is thinking that the MTO management, in nearly impeccable form, is not going to deliver from a JV standpoint.G
I see Metanor as a gold producing, ongoing mining & milling venture w/several properties & infrastructure. You have to wonder WHY is it @ 7C & WHY is it mired & treading water?? While other start-up mining companies with ZERO revenues are trading @ multiples of Metanor Resources! My experience with penny stocks tells me there is a dead rat in here & usually it boils down to one MAIN factor, albeit not the only factor & that is the selling of stock by "trading houses" in order to push down the price. Once enough damage has been done, they swoop in & max buy on the cheap. Metanor Resources, a ripe plum ready to be picked. GLTA
This is a great find, how many producing mines with
Good assets trade at .o6 this will fly on higher gold

Ps.
I agree it is a takeover target.
Mill worth $50 mil alone plus tax carry forward plus 3 mining areas.
Add in Osisko and Oban in area and consolidating mines with no mill
makes me think we will see offer before summer.
Letting the company do leg work and size things up, then take over.

Just found this:
Mining expert Jay Taylor of Hard Money Advisors Upgrades Metanor Resources to BUY with $0.20 Canadian price target:
"...if management can start to grow this company with internally generated cash funds and increase production from Barry, an upside considerably beyond US$0.10 is possible. However, given the company’s current assets, plus all it has going for it in terms of its exploration potential and the potential to combine its assets more efficiently under a well capitalized company, my view is that Metanor will become a takeover candidate by Osisko Gold Royalties or another major operating in Canada, and a sweetener for a suitor would be a tax loss of $15 million. If I’m right and gold is now starting out its next leg up in this secular bull market, a move upward into the US$0.06 to US$0.15 range could come sooner rather than later."
- J. Taylor Feb-2016
IMO I think there a little low on price target, especially w/ 05/02/16 news
From news release:
Metanor is the subject of a Mining MarketWatch Journal review. Eric Sprott recently increased his equity position in MTO.V and for good reason.

Could very well be Sprott or a cronie of his buying. Love that volume. Gets stock in stronger hands.

No, just looked. Seem fine at Barry, being so shallow helps.
I am out of MEAOF right now, was disappointed in Moroy results, and so many other things are making me money. Been a real blessing for me in markets last 4 months. Trying to think clearly and remain humble amidst the gains, a challenge.
Geo, did you see today's drill results? Impressed?

AHa! That is where the volume came from.
So Eric thinks the anomaly will pan out as I do. Nice to have a biggie on our side.
Got a phone call mid-message. As I was saying this gives me more confidence that something real is happening with Metanor. Good sign going forward.

Now that is big. I have a lot of respect for Sprott. Could be the nudge I needed to accumulating more. Since the PP, which Sprott took 1 million dollars of, I have had a question in my mind about management.

Yep, MTO hogging all the volume again, look at the way MTO hides millions of buy/sell volume in the "? Vol" column, that's probably where the bulk of MEAOF's volume is hidden.
Look at today's 9:44:21 trades of 18,000 and 30,000 on this site "Trades" MTO and MEAOF both show buys in those amounts.
no expert but : the only stock that does this , that I know of [maybe legal issue ?]
4.1 million traded in Canada last I checked. Under 200k here in US.
T
MEAOF has lots of volume but, 95% of the shares traded are for some reason redirected to (hidden on) the MTO exchange, all the MEAOF shares (100's of thousands) I purchased showed up under MTO with no change to MEAOF. I see it all the time, when volume does appear on MEAOF the same exact # of shares, same exact times traded show up on both exchanges. MEAOF volume is being manipulated.
no vol. because we are a stepchild to MTO -----lots of vol. there [only trades in 5 increments]
