Waiting for the bounce!! It will bounce and start running soon.......the product is needed and the company is well managed.
Great info thx.
Brian Kelly on fast money ( CNBC) just said to buy the opportunity. Cramer on mad money just said basically the same. I wish I had some dry powder, but I bought some on the way down. It’s a no brained!!!
Sure looks like it's headed for $28s or lower. Who knew or even imagined after great earnings.
I agree. Potential for $70s. But that is in the future. For down, down, down.
A much larger sell off than I ever imagined. The business plan and the need for the materials hasn’t changed, so it will bounce back in time.
what a selloff: average vol hit already at 30 minute mark. go figure
If you want to legally avoid capital gains taxes on your "sale" of MP, either purchase put options, or do a covered short sale.
Guess I was wrong, sorry. found out last night that it was an "insider" selling a large block of his/her shares. This is still growing pains, and I am still very long MP.
I’m glad to hear that. Our set back is to be short lived and a buying opportunity.
i want it to go way up - instead it is going way way way down
Are you short or a flipper?
The way in After hours: Could be down another $8 tomorrow. go figure, they had a great Q and year.
Is it going back to $15? It's dropping faster than a lead filled rock.
I agree, just a normal move for a growing company. I just bought another 100 shares.
Reminds me of an OTC type move.
Not only that, there is supposedly no dilution! They are apparently selling treasury stock, or held stock that they reserved as part of the 170 million float. Even if this isn't true, history shows that this company is a winner. Molycorp was never able to raise money enough to compete internationally, so they got bought out by essentially the present officer corp. As a result, they innovated and infused enough to make MP develop/progress to a modern rare earths miner. They anticipated needing more capital when they went public as a SPAC. Therefore, I believe this is planned, and I anticipated temporary hits until they develop as needed. Remember the years of Amazon deficits until just recently. This is a valuable monopoly that is moving from, let's sat a Connecticut Ave. to a Boardwalk. JMHO
Could go back to $31. Great Quarter, the boom loans & 8 million stocks to be sold. Thanks MP
This is a great buying opportunity. Company is just raising money for the future moves.

Listened to the conference call; short takeaway they are focused on performance Stage I and equipment arriving for Stage II. No mention of Stage III yet. They are focused on performance now, measures taken to reduce expenditures.
We got the great report, now we just need the market to get healthy again and the sp will start running.
With just decent earnings today we will never see this share price again. It is up from here!!! Let’s hope
Rare earth mining is heating up the competition. Forget rare earth ETFs MP is in a great spot to explode. Its still relatively cheap, but probably wont be for long.
I agree!! The hot topic is USA rare earths and MP is the Top Dog right now. If you are looking for the next MP mining project look into NIOCORP stock symbol $NIOBF. Niocorp won the Infrastructure project of the year!! This will be $50 plus a share in a couple years as well. “As the world works to rebuild and expand vital infrastructure systems, we are going to need secure and diversified supply chains for these critical minerals. NioCorp looks forward to helping to deliver these materials to infrastructure projects in the US and globally,” comments NioCorp CEO and chairperson Mark Smith

Tomorrow’s presentation - https://investors.mpmaterials.com/events-and-presentations/default.aspx
I have to think MP is as safe of a stock to buy and hold as any. The materials are needed and the ceiling is sky high.
As a follow on, the presentation on Mad Money was impressive. Also, Cramer did a presentation on SPAC's he liked, and MP was at the top of the list and a favorite of his. Granted, the jump was just for a day, but could bode favorably long term.
Why MP Materials Stock Jumped as Much as 15% Today
By: Motley Fool | February 24, 2021
• MP Materials has a great story and investors seem to like to hear the company tell it. Here's why that was important today.
What happened
Shares of rare earth metals miner MP Materials (NYSE:MP) jumped as much as 15% today, with a big share increase coming at roughly 10 a.m. EST. The relatively young company, which came public via a blank check company (formally known as a special purpose acquisition company) in late 2020, is a play on a very interesting theme right now. Although nothing material changed about the story here today, the company did get to talk about it.
So what
Rare earth metals are used in high-tech products, notably the batteries that help make electric vehicles possible. However, the vast majority of these materials come out of Asia, mostly China. China has reportedly discussed the imposition of export restrictions, presumably as a trade bargaining tool, which could be a disaster for non-Chinese companies.
MP Materials is one of the few non-Chinese options for companies to acquire rare earth metals. So it is a play on two separate and high-profile issues today -- rare earth metals/electric vehicles and trade with China. On top of that, the company is in the process of expanding its business so that it can provide a broader and more comprehensive replacement to Chinese rare earth supplies. So there's even internal growth potential here, as well. All in, there really is a lot to like about the story MP Materials has to tell, and investors tend to like stories.
But today it looks like the telling of that story is the really big issue. The company presented at an industry conference today and will be featured on Mad Money, a popular business television show, later in the day. Events like these, particularly an appearance on a national television show, often draw investors into a stock. So it isn't surprising that MP Materials jumped on the conference presentation and the news of its television appearance.
Now what
Although the story behind MP Materials is quite compelling, it is important to consider that the stock has risen roughly 180% in about three months. That's a huge price increase in a very short period of time. Moreover, the gain today appears to be driven by publicity more than any major change in the story. So one might be tempted to suggest that investors are extremely enthusiastic right now, perhaps even exuberant. That's not a bad thing, but it looks like a lot of good news has been priced into the stock at this point. Long-term investors should keep that in mind when they consider the appeal of MP Materials' stock.
