Congrats. It was a good day to sell. I expect it will dip again soon. I see a lot of positive improvements for Lowe's, so It may go a little higher before the next dip. They also added 10 billion to the 4.5 billion left for share buyback, so who knows how high they could push it. The new Craftsman product resets in the stores looks great. I was in a Lowe's store yesterday and it was packed with customers. I'm still holding for now. I'll add more if it dips again.
LMAO. We'll see. Lowe's did add 5 billion to the budget for share buyback, so anything is possible.
i hope so. i didn't sell for i felt fooled on the fool day
Up 100% tomorrow. Happy April Fool.
happy april fool.
should it go up tommorw?
Marvin seems to be taking care of us shareholders. I will continue to load.
LOW is a great long term hold IMO.
I started buying Low stock back in 2010. It's come a long way since then. The dividend continues to grow my share position as well. I love this stock. It just keeps giving.
Lowes stores look great with the new Craftsman products. We should get some
of Sears customers.
That was a smart play.
Hey Ellison, you need to listen to JCP conference call this morning! And hear a real CEO who cares about Shareholders !!! They beat by double all analysts expectations !!!
More changes in management structure. Micro managing is now in force, not a good thing for current employees.
Well idc, you know Marvin and Jeff Bezos both look the same- like turtles without a shell. Just in a differrent color...
Maybe you are wrong there and it will be JC Penney who Amazon mergers with?? They have been doing a lot of good things there last few years and media ignoring facts again...
Anyway, how you feeling with Ellison here after he left JCP? All I know is the Lowes stores we frequent with our company's purchases NEVER seen morale at such low negatives...
And soon here in Hickory, NC region with Ace Hardware building new mega store in Bethlehem, they will be taking business from the Viewmont branch as they will carry all building suplies and already have them for sale online, yet no media coverage about this happening...

FYI amazon wants Home Depot and Lowe’s business structure. Lowe’s and Home Depot wants amazon’s internet’s business plan. Lowe’s is following Home Depot but trying to take the new decade. This will be exciting to watch everyone’s next move! Place your bets!!! I got Lowe’s and amazon stock so glta!!!!
What about rumors of amazon taking over Lowe’s to beat out home depot
Yep tradeZ, that is what he did to JC Penneys and other retailers before that role and self-served. Now JCP has real caring CEO and 2019 will be surprise to many in industry what she is/will eb doing there...
Hey Charlotte Hq announced on local news otherd ay Lowes to hire 68.000 new workers thgis year ??!! WTF going on here?
They have cut so much, closed so many stores, closing more, and people I knwo in corp and in stores mgmnts seem nervous all the time for their jobs???
But, this may be a rela strecth here, the 11th hour dela the CEo made to save Sears using his hedge fund, this a.m. on CNBC, they emntioend if he can get that $140million by 4pm today in banka ccount, it would save jobs for now at Sears, of which there is 68,000 employees... Coincidence or is/has there been some backdoow goings-on wiht Eedie lampert fo Sears and new CEO of Lowes (Ellison) to combine/merge, etc as this 68,000 number came up twice thsiw eek already...
That's become the norm, same at HD. Xmas went 75% off day after. Everyone is getting ready for spring sets which is the biggest qtr.
Marvin man, I just spoke to Mgr at Lowes here and on Christmas Eve you ordered all Christmas decorations 50% off immediately.. You did same on halloween and Thanksgiving too...I never seen that before. Already setting up Spring/Sumemr items now (1) day after Christmas !!??
He travels to different stores on the companies dime trying to motivate. I am not racist because I think he is spending to much on restaurants and hotels. I am being honest. I guess it is a way for the other board members that spend WAAAAAAAAY to much of the companies money on high priced food, travel, and their pay. Trust me he is NOT the only one doing that right now.
Look, Lowes is a NC based operation. Like BAC, WFB, DUK, Dollar General, BOjangles, etc etc and here in NC today, it is a very liberal socialist run place in general. Especially Charlotte, NC whereas all top positions now from Mayor to Police to County Commissioners, etc are held by black folks and Marvin is just another play into this "black power popularity" thing for the "depressed black people" which we hear here daily in Charlotte region; and he is 1st black CEO for Lowes now and part of a fad going on here and yet there is so much waste of monies and costs at every level of all these entities in NC right now... They simply CANNOT manage funds and cry they need more daily. Just like Mecklenberg School District does on NEws 9 or News 3 daily here...
Home Depot always seems to outperform Lowes

Wal-Mart been doing that too. No manned registers; only computer registers open lats time we went here.
Lowes in Hickory, NC area seeing similar thing. So many new younger folks to part time, only couple who have many years (and know me as a contractor), and they are so frustrated with new management requirements on them they tell me...
Never have I seen a time where people really are afraid to talk or say much in fear of losing their position or jobs... This still uis America, right? not Cuba...
disclaimer: no position here or HD... Walked in today, Sunday, VA Beach store normally busy this fall, parked near contractor door that has 3 registers that can be available. Went to get some lighting and then went to check out at main exit area. All 4 self checkouts open with 1 attendant monitoring and 3/4 were card only and no cash back which I was looking for. There were no main registers (12-14) open and no contractor registers open when I walked down there. The self checkout helped me at her counter, gave me cash back. I asked what in the world was going on because no other registers were open, she said they were short handed and were cutting back hours for employees.. She then said something about the NASCASR contract terminated (not a big deal)... This is on a SUNDAY, at 3:30 PM!!
IMO, We saw the beginning last week with the breakdown in the S&P... Big money funds shrugging it off and finding short term world/political events to place blame, but I think it is a major crack in the Trump economy... Never have I witnessed after 20-30 years of this big box that they opted to not have any personal registers open and they never should have done it especially on 1 of the 4 December Sunday's before xmas. Good luck to all, an early warning if nothing else.
Looking like sheer movements going toward making new 52 week low...??? Guess will see.
Low in Hickory, NC area tells me their Black Friday sales didn't do as expected... Deep discounting that stuff to move out and bring in Spring stuff already...
Yeah and I love how they have to demolish good doors and other and not be allowed to donate to habitat for Humanity and get tax writeoff as well... I can't envision destroying good sliders and french units with sledge hamers in backroom, because of order flaws they made, instead of giving them to others which would benefit good events...
You ask about the NPI stuff? Or better yet ask them for their mark down report. If it is a level 5 action item it must walk out the door or they'll just throw it away.
Hey, yesterday I spoke with another manager at a Lowes our business frequents (Hickory, NC area) for small items as it is on main route we drive, and she told us Black Friday stuff did not sell as planned and they are deep discounting all of it to get out of stores right now. I saw Botsch and other power tools back on shelves even as they did not sell at discounts either...
I in fact purchased Industrial Dining set (2 adj stools and pivot table) which were priced at $250.00 each, and they gave them to me for $47.00 each !! I bought the last ones they had to give a gifts to people i know who can use them and have little these days... Manager said their buy-in price was like 120.00 each, and they were taking the loss on them like other things...
I have written new CEO in fact...
JCP board might like to see this post.
Yes and NOBODY buying the chinese made junk it is today ! I am a contractor business owner and in ours everyday pretty much and know what's going on, and you all deserve Ellison as we DO NOT want him back at JC Penneys after what he did... Our new CEO "Jill" will make JCP the world's greatest retail turnaround surprise real soon here before Christmas...
Ellison, he needs to go to jail for what he did to all his past jobs/shareholders...
All hyped tech and social media crashing back to earth, institutionals pulling out of them all, and bad retailers like SHLD(Q) now, will be gone, and that money is/will flow into strong real business operations like the JCP's out there... Watch...
Craftsman is all over my local Lowes store.
This is the liberal version of home depot! https://www.cnbc.com/2018/11/05/this-map-shows-where-lowes-is-closing-stores.html
Any questions?
I like your platform. Who do you use? I have etrade pro but looking to open another account for the children.
That and locally the morale is so bad, just yesterday, one older long time employee said the new CEO has made cuts now to employee benefits and that they (employees) all concerned that in his 4 previous work roles, he literally ruined those companies and/or hurt their stock and enriched himself in process...
They DO NOT like Ellison one bit and his new ideas he wants done to stores. He already axed many long time managers and brought in very young store managers.
I got pets too. But I also have common sense and animals are NOT human beings- and they do carry germs and such walking on the ground that is transferred into these stores everywhere.
It is bad enough so many people are not washing after going in the bathrooms today in these stores, and I am in them daily for my business to see and know this fact...
Mark my words. This "allowing pets to walk in stores" will come back to haunt them badly...
My pets are my house hold!!!! You can’t blame the middle or the upper class for this objective response. I love my pets as children so please back off your assumptions!
I’m a buyer today. Do not follow my actions please!!!!
Looks like the 200DMA. Much safer buy point here if it closes above the 200 DMA over the next few days.
