'We're In A Race,' Lordstown Motors CEO Tells Cramer

Lordstown Motors (NASDAQ: $RIDE) CEO Steve Burns joined CNBC's Jim Cramer on Tuesday’s “Mad Money” to discuss his company and the electric pickup truck market.
About Lordstown Motors: Cramer called Lordstown Motors a “great American story,” referring to the company bringing a shuttered General Motors Company (NYSE: $GM) plant back to life.
Burns said the relationship with GM started as “a quick asset sale,” but turned into a relationship with financing to help get the plant and production up and running.
“They bring more than money.”
Burns On Electric Pickup Truck Market: Lordstown is focusing on selling to fleets, which meant it had to have a lower price point and focus less on luxury.
“We’re in a race to bring this back to life and come out with the first electric pickup truck in the United States,” Burns said.
The company announced it has 50,000 reservations from fleet customers Tuesday, including Duke Energy and First Energy.
Cramer said the $52,500 price point is aggressive and asked Burns how Lordstown keeps costs low.
Burns said they had to reinvent the drivetrain and are building battery packs themselves in a move similar to Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: $TSLA). The battery pack in the Endurance will be bigger than the biggest Tesla battery, Burns said.
Burns said the top-three selling vehicles in America are pickup trucks, adding that there is room for several electric pickups.
Burns said “nobody else has this lane,” referring to the focus on commercial fleets first. Burns doesn’t consider the Cybertruck a work truck.
Burns also said traditional automotive manufacturers like Ford are conflicted because they don’t want to cannibalize their other vehicles.
RIDE Price Action: Shares of Lordstown Motors were trading 10.57% higher at $27.31 at last check Wednesday.

Ok
I’ll look into it
Thank you for your help
Much appreciated!
I don't use etraded but there must be someway to notify them of your intent. I use Schhwab and can call to talk with agents.
Thank you for fast reply! Much appreciated! How would I convert to ride stock on etrade? Do I just sell it normally? I don’t see any other option on my computer screen.
Thank you for any input!
ridew is a warrant which for a period of time allows you to convert eah warrant plus $11.50 for a share of ride. There is a call provission if the SP is over $18 for 30 days they can force you to convert. To convert you need to tell your broker you want to convert so paper work can begin.
How do you convert from RIDEW to Ride? I bought RIDEW not knowing about RIDE. Should I convert? I bought RIDEW at $9.44 per share.
Thanks for any input
Much appreciated!
Hi all
Newby question of the day! I purchased RIDEW and then noticed the same company sells RIDE stock. What is the difference? Thanks for any help
RIDE warrants are undervalued right now.
Complete Cramer/Mad Money interview with Lordstown CEO Steve Burns. IT WAS AWESOME! $RIDE

Correct. Right now, it is a bargain to buy warrants compared to regular shares. $RIDE
Warrants? RIDEW - My understanding is ridew is convertible for 1 share of ride at 11.50 and its trading in the 10s. Rides trading over 25.
No, NOT owned by GM...Lordstown, bought an old factory from them. But GM did invest about $75 with them...something like goodwill money...
Is RIDE owned by GM?
Is RIDE going to be GMs EV truck division or are they going to do everything in house?
And it’s just the start... $RIDE baby! looking forward to the next year
Awesome volume today! FINALLY! Go $RIDE GO!!!!

Cramer could give us a nice pop.
RIDE is going to take a ride higher through 2021. This is a hold for bigger gains.
I look forward to hearing what the CEO has to say on Mad Money this evening.

I own both RIDE and WKHS and I dont really concern myself with the prices for now as they are both just begenning.Wkhs has been tested a lot more.RIDE has a lot more crazy up and down breaking in to go thru.I try not to look at it too much.Buy and hold for now.Accumulate on crazy dips.

I own both. RIDE for trading and
WKHS for long term capital gains.
tom split you $$'s and buy both but watch WKHS has a gap at 15.13 see if that holds I hold both shares and a few warrant in RIDE but beware those may get called at 18 so don't over pay for any warrant over 6.50 that is the break even if called at 18. The warrants can be a nice way to do your split if you would exeercise at 18. gives you time.
I'm not sure either will be back at the 10-11 range again so it seems a weird question to ask.
far better is if you could only buy one (at current price) and hold for at least a year which would it be?
I would stump for RIDE it may not gain as much as WKHS if they get a significant USPS contract but is in a better position for EV in general. Both will be shipping vehicles in a year but the Endurance is far sexier and bigger market potential than C650 C1000 box trucks.
Disclosure I am an investor in both which is the right way to play it.
Question for everyone...
Would you buy if
RIDE drops to 10 or 11?
Would you consider this a better or similar investment as WKHS. If you could only buy one at 10-11 dollars, which one would you like better? WKHS or RIDE ? or Both?
Very nice video. No matter what the pps is gonna be in the next few weeks, the future is very bright for Lordstown motors
Just looked at the jobs you linked. (Mobile app doesn’t allow edits)
Remember the factory is about assembly only
Looks like engine electronics and some body parts being made in Michigan designs in Irvine CA
I guess it’s all about where the skills are
Michigan is where the electronics are developed. All “office” based type jobs. So many sensors erc feeding into the computers. May be designing their own chips. Not sure about California connections apart from getting cleared by regulators or related to chip designs
UK, do you know why Lordstown Motors has so many open positions in Michigan and Irvine California (see following link) when their megafactory is in Lordstown Ohio?
https://recruiting.paylocity.com/Recruiting/Jobs/All/ddd48b68-5d30-4845-bd31-2cbbac035ac6/Lordstown-Motors-Corp
Lordstown makes pickup trucks.
Workhorse makes vans.
They may outsource van production
to Lordstown.
but WKHS is shipping their own trucks NOW.
They make the C650 and C1000 "box" style delivery truck (electric) along with capability to add their Horsefly delivery drone as being tested by a number of companies (UPS mostly).
RIDE is still in the tooling phase of the electric Pickup truck Endurance which was designed by Workhorse before the split - WKHS got 10% of RIDE and 1% royalty on first 10,000 Endurances sold.
Oh and WKHS may just get a $6BN contract for USPS.
So obviously the Market Cap of WKHS will be higher, but both should be long term winners in my estimation.
I am confused why wkhs is 4x the mc of lordstown when lordstown is making the trucks. Seems like a way better deal to buy lordstown
Workhorse already owns 10% of Lordstown.
I did not know that but stranger things have happened. Although, if they worked together before then they might reconcile and try it again.
I believe you are right. $10 is looking possible.
