Loncor acts like JNUG, but has no inherent leveraged ETF erosion:
http://finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=LN.TO+Interactive#{%22range%22%3A%221y%22%2C%22scale%22%3A%22linear%22%2C%22comparisons%22%3A{%22JNUG%22%3A{%22color%22%3A%22%23cc0000%22%2C%22weight%22%3A1}}}
Of course a dilution is expected soon with Loncor, but in the long run it may outperform one of the most volatile levaraged ETFs namely JNUG.
We seem to hang out on the same forums, inverstorwisdom. I've been eyein' this stock for over a year now, today opened a nice position near the 52 week low. A quick 300% gain possible, 50x gain in the long term.
LON delisted from the AMEX to the OTC. New ticker LONCF:

i dont know? do they allow you to trade penny stocks?otherwise i have no clue. there is no fee for a foreign stock with LON. maybe take it as good luck hehehehe but i know this is goin somewhere. now that they have to do something or be de-listed we shall see, possible newmont buy out? i wish
Thanks, tried to buy online Scottrade would not allow a buy. Don't know why. What is up with Lon?
it looks like .17 is support. i would buy at .17 this stock has had bid for .24 a week or so ago. it's not dead. with newmont owning like 40% lon owning about 40%, there is such a low float. the float is only thing being traded. volume has absolutly picked up. LON is a go. maybe newmont to buy lon? they are trying to shake out weak hands so they can buy cheaper. i was lucky enough to buy 1/3 of my shares @.105. before PM"s crashed lon was consistantly at $1 for 2 years. nobody traded it, cause they are just holding on to shares. the book value is about >25c on the dollar. strong buy @.17 nothing goes straight up, look at chart
Canadian stock beaten down to .10 today, check the companies SEC link on the website, Loncor shuttered operations on depressed Gold prices and low cash reserves. My guess is they will have to offer millions of shares around .10-.20 per share unfortunately. Read the M&A discussions they need to sell stock to raise funds for 2014. And they need to conduct lots more drilling to delineate more gold since they have plenty of Gold, but it's too deep at 400 meters making extraction expensive. They need to find some shallow open pit deposits and find them soon so we can have easy and cheap to mine deposits. What really is exciting however is Loncor's holdings in North Kivu, especially the properties under Force Majeur that have extensive atrisinal workings. Once the Congo Government can throw these claim jumpers off the land things are going to get much more exciting for Loncor and it's prospects. Long term there is tremendous potential, but short term, they need to just survive the downturn in the price of Gold and raise enough capital to get through 2014.
I think I am going to start a position here. Needs more volume, but I believe that will come. There seems to be cutting edge logistics going on with Newmont and Loncor, and I would like to have some invested interest here when the door opens. I am going to wait till it drops again though, a buyer @ .17-.19.
GLTU
I think Newmont is a very well run respectable company. They were smart to buy into Loncor and become the major shareholder. There are some debt levels with Newmont, but you get a nice dividend. Historically it's dirt cheap, only risk is if Gold goes below $1000

I never heard of them, do you have a link to the company website?
Newton is a pretty solid company wih 19% stake, what is your tale on them?
Loncor needs to release more drill results and add to the current resource. Hopefully they give us some positive strike data soon...
Do you have any extra info apart from the norm that could help me make a better decision about this co? Have been watching this for a few weeks, and would love to get in down here. Thanks and gltu
Company market cap is too low for the resource and potential to increase reserves. Within the last 2 years the market cap fell from over $300 million to under $15 million dollars. The trend will reverse higher and appropriately value the company once again, we are now looking at two years of significant price appreciation. If you ever thought about investing in undervalued Gold companies, now would be the best time in history to do so. Loncor will ride the coat-heels successes of Banro, while Randgold is stepping up it's investments through taking operating control of the neighboring claims previously operated by Kilo Goldmines.
Almost seems to good to be true, but it is :)
and this:
Shareholders in junior miners who are willing to take on the risk of owning an exploration stage miner like Loncor Resources with promising drilling results are likely to capture a lot of capital appreciation as these companies go into their development and production stages.
Based on these drilling results, Loncor Resources looks like an attractive acquisition target by a company like Newmont Mining or AngloGold Ashanti Limited (AU). In fact, Newmont Mining already has a sizable stake in Loncor Resources, which is testament to the strategic interest of the majors in this region of the DRC.
I like this:
As I stressed in that article, it is important to note that Newmont Mining (NEM), the world’s largest gold producer, already has a significant strategic investment in Loncor Resources and results like these might drive Newmont to push for total control of the company, which would drive Loncor’s stock price higher.
