Battery Grade Lithium Carbonate to be Produced at HMN Li Project
October 19, 2021 / Vancouver, BC / Lithium South Development Corporation (the “Company”) (TSX-V: LIS) (OTCQB: LISMF) (Frankfurt: OGPQ) is pleased to announce that Eon Minerals of Miami Florida, through its laboratory located in Salta, Argentina, will be conducting test work to produce battery grade lithium carbonate from a bulk sample of brine to be recovered from the Hombre Muerto North Lithium Project (HMN Li Project), Argentina. Conventional process technology, based upon the proven evaporation extraction process of lithium will be utilized in this test phase.
The testing will begin with a pre-concentration process of 15 cubic meters of brine in ponds located at the project site. Work will include liming, solid-liquid separation, removal of boron through Solvent Extraction, polishing of the brine, precipitation of primary lithium carbonate, bi-carbonation, polishing of the brine by Ion Exchange, resulting in a targeted-battery grade lithium carbonate product. The process will also produce a lithium chloride solution with a targeted concentration up to 6% wt., which will be shipped to Chemphys Chengdu in China for further refinishing to their customer specifications.

Lithium South President Message
Dear Shareholders,
We are very pleased with the results of our recent TEM survey. As you can see from the map below, the Alba Sabrina block is large and holds significant potential to expand the current high quality lithium resource we have quantified at the Tramo claim block. Alba Sabrina is almost six times as large as Tramo. More news is pending next week.

TEM Program Scheduled for HMN Li Project
Print Friendly, PDF & Email
August 05, 2021 / Vancouver, BC / Lithium South Development Corporation (the “Company”) (TSX-V: LIS) (OTCQB: LISMF) (Frankfurt OGPQ) is pleased to announce the engagement of Quantec Geoscience Argentina S.A., for the completion of a Time Domain Electromagnetic (TEM) program at the Hombre Muerto North Lithium Project, Salta Province, Argentina. Work to date has identified a measured and indicated lithium resource at the Tramo claim block, one of six areas contained in the project package. This program will cover the Alba Sabrina, Natalia Maria, Gaston Enrique, Norma Edit and Via Monte claim blocks, which have not been evaluated to date. The claim blocks are located adjacent to property under development or currently in lithium production. The northern claim groups border ground owned by POSCO (Korea), where a lithium mine is being constructed. The southern group adjoin ground owned by Livent, which is currently producing lithium from the area.
The TEM program is designed to provide hole location guidance for a planned 2,000-meter drill program, the intent of which is to expand the total project lithium resource, which is currently based only on the Tramo claim block. The TEM program will consist of 168 survey stations and will provide reliable and accurate survey data to compliment additional area information. The program is anticipated to take three weeks to complete.
The program is part of the Company development strategy for the Hombre Muerto North Lithium Project. Management is taking a fast-track approach to moving the project to a full feasibility study, with an Environmental Impact Report currently underway. Permissions to drill have been applied for and are expected in the immediate future. In addition, the Company is evaluating three types of Direct Lithium Extraction Technology (DLE) along with conventional evaporation extraction.

Eon Minerals Inc. to Evaluate HMN Brine using Direct Lithium Extraction Technology
May 17, 2021 / Vancouver, BC / Lithium South Development Corporation (the “Company”) (TSX-V: LIS) (OTCQB: LISMF) (Frankfurt OGPQ) is pleased to provide an update on the continued evaluation of Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technology for its Hombre Muerto North Lithium Project (HMN Li Project), located in Salta Province, Argentina.
LIS is working with Eon Minerals Inc. (EMI), a Miami Florida based technology company. EMI is headed by Mr. Fernando Villarroel, Vice-President and a director of the Company. The EMI process is an innovative absorbent consisting of specific nanoparticles and is currently patent pending at the United States Patent Office. A 2,000-liter brine sample has been received at the EMI laboratory in Salta, and test work is anticipated to begin this week.
A first phase in evaluation of the process will be to analyze a computational chemistry brine with the absorbent to determine the reliability and duration of the absorbent. The second phase will involve test work utilizing a natural brine sample taken from the 2,000-liter reserve. The testing will be conducted under the supervision of a Qualified Person along with third party ISO Certified laboratory verification.
LIS is now utilizing four options to determine the optimal plan for the development of the project. Three DLE processes are now under evaluation, and the Company is continuing to move forward with test work utilizing conventional evaporation.

Lilac Solutions April 13, 2021 / Vancouver, BC / Lithium South Development Corporation (the “Company”) (TSX-V: LIS) (OTCQB: LISMF) (Frankfurt OGPQ) is pleased to provide an update on the continued evaluation of Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technology for its Hombre Muerto North Lithium Project (HMN Li Project), located in Salta Province, Argentina.
Lilac Solutions of Oakland California, a lithium extraction company providing technology and services to lithium brine developers, has advised the Company that they have completed their own testing using their patented Ion Exchange (IX) media on a synthetic sample of the HMN Li Project brine, identical in chemical composition to that contained within the projects NI 43-101 Preliminary Economic Assessment previously filed by the Company. The results produced a lithium chloride eluate solution recovering 99% of the lithium with very low reagent consumption. The eluate composition showed high purity and low total dissolved solids. This eluate would be concentrated using reverse osmosis and mechanical evaporation to feed a conventional plant for the production of lithium hydroxide or lithium carbonate. Both acid and base reagents used in the process can be produced on site using a chlor-alkali system. Water consumption was 18 metric tonnes for each tonne of Lithium Carbonate Equivalent produced. The results and values reported were provided by Lilac Solutions and were not conducted in an ISO Certified Laboratory under the supervision of a Qualified Person, and the results presented have not been verified by a Qualified Person.
Conventional lithium extraction involves the construction of large evaporation ponds to concentrate the lithium contained in the raw brine. The costs of pond construction is significant, the environmental footprint is large, and the production lead time is approximately 18 months. These factors contribute to the challenges of applying the traditional evaporation process to meet increasing market demand. Prior Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technologies have also struggled due to high water and energy consumption. Lilac’s new lithium extraction process enables rapid and low-cost extraction of lithium from brine with minimal water and energy. The Company is evaluating both conventional evaporation and DLE to determine the optimal process method for the HMN Li Project.
The next phase of test work will involve Lilac expanding test work with a natural brine sample sourced from the HMN Li Project. The results will be analyzed under the supervision of a Qualified Person along with third party ISO Certified laboratory verification. This will provide confirmation of the results on synthetic brine as well as an indication of expected
costs for a commercial scale process.
