As of April 29, 2011, the Company operated 90 centers primarily in residential locations across 24 markets in 20 states under the LIFE TIME FITNESS and LIFE TIME ATHLETIC brands. The Company’s model centers target 8,500 to 11,500 memberships by offering, on average, 113,000 square feet of multi-use sports and athletic, professional fitness, family recreation, spa amenities and programs and services in a resort-like environment. Its centers are situated in residential areas and are accessed and centrally located among the residential, business and shopping districts of the surrounding community. As of December 31, 2010, Life Time Fitness, Inc. had 612,556 memberships and 1,188,342 members, an average of 1.9 members per membership. In February 2012, the Company acquired Atlanta, Georgia-based Racquet Club of the South.
