I'm looking for a useful explanation to a question regarding lehjq and lehkq...as I bought a handful of each of these a year ago...are either entitled to any form of compensation as a result of the bankruptcy? If so, do I need to do anything to receive the compensation? I do not comprehend the intricate workings of the market nor the legal proceedings of bankruptcy. A thank you in advance to all who may reply.
OK thanks - yes I think there has been an error since the Class Action did not include CT Holders.
I would phone as you say just to double check.
VIVA. all i can tell you is my wife never bought any LEHMAN PRE BK. But she did get the form in the mail. I will have to ck it later. I think it is also required to send copies of the trading records in with the form. If that is fact them many of the claims will not fly IMHO
I only own the LEHKQ securities. The form may have been sent in error. I will call them to confirm. Jim
I thought that form was for PRE-BK holders?
Or am I incorrect in that assumption?
Cheers and thanks for your time if you care to respond further!
the form was for various preferred and common ,,
How do you know that the Proof of Claim Form you received is for your LEHKQ securities? Do you or did you also hold LEHMQ or LEHJQ securities?
The Capital Trust Holders are not included in the Class Action Suit.
Linda this is how my LEHKQ shares are described - Cusip 52519y209
LEHKQ - LEHMAN BR HLDG 6.3750%52TR PDS SECS DUE 03/15/52SUBJ TO XTRO REDEMPTION
Exactly what series/shares are we supposed to file a form for?
my wife was sent the form and all her shares were bought after also. FWIW
Did you purchase Lehman Common or Preferred Securities? I don't mean CTS.
And do you have any in your account right now of the Equity Common or Preferred Shares that were just delisted?
I don't think this form is at all for Holders of CTS.
If you held LEHMQ OR LEHJQ in your account then the forms were probably sent out to you without first determining if you had purchased the Securities prior to bankruptcy.
I don't think this form is for the K series or CTS at all - they are not on the list.
It is for Holders of Lehman Common and Preferred Shares and certain Notes.
OK - thank you. There is a Class Action Suit by Lehman Stock Holders and other investors against Lehman's Directors and Officers - and a settlement has been reached.
However, to be a part of the Class Action settlement you must have purchased Lehman's stock prior to bankruptcy.
Did/do you hold any of Lehman's stock from prior to bankruptcy?
thanks donto and famous!!!!
Does this mean that if I purchased or acquired LEHJQ after September 15, 2008 I AM SCREWED???????????...(pardon my french) or you think there is a chance for people like me?...... is there anyone else in this board in my situation?
ahhhh thank you
This Proof of Claim is directed to the following two settlement classes:
(i) All persons and entities who (1) purchased or acquired Lehman securities identified in Appendix A to the D&O Notice pursuant
or traceable to the Shelf Registration Statement and who were damaged thereby, (2) purchased or acquired any Lehman Structured
Notes identified in Appendix B to the D&O Notice pursuant to or traceable to the Shelf Registration Statement and who were damaged
thereby, or (3) purchased or acquired Lehman common stock, call options, and/or sold put options between June 12, 2007 and
September 15, 2008 through and inclusive, and who were damaged thereby (the “D&O Class”). Excluded from the D&O Class are: (i)
Defendants, (ii) Lehman, (iii) the executive officers and directors of each Defendant or Lehman, (iv) any entity in which Defendants or
Lehman have or had a controlling interest, (v) members of Defendants’ immediate families, and (vi) the legal representatives heirs,
successors or assigns of any such excluded party. Also excluded are any persons or entities who timely and validly request exclusion
from the D&O Class as set forth in the D&O Notice; and
That is very strange and new to me. is there anyway you can post what it states?
I own LEHKQ, guess the term common does not apply. Sorry. I got the form this week and it must be filed by 5/12/2012. Jim
What do you mean by " common LEHKQ "? LEHKQ is a Capital Trust Preferred Security.
Plus the due date for filing a Proof of Claim form was way back in Sept 2009. Our Trustee - BNYM -
filed Proofs of Claims on behalf of the CT Holders way back in Sept 2009.
When did you receive your Proof of Claim form from Schwab?
Linda your insights would be appreciated regarding the LEHKQ common and proof of claim. I received the proof of claim form for the now non trading common LEHKQ. The form has a list of 'Notes Listed By Issue Date'. Cusips are associated with each Issue Date. Schwab shows my common cusip for LEHKQ as 52519Y209. This cusip is not in the list. The Proof Of Claim form will take some time for me to complete. Since my cusip in not shown, is it worth my time? Of course, if I can't get the answer here I will contact the sender of the form and/or Schwab to obtain an answer. Just hoping to get a guick answer here.
FYI, I already placed a sale order for 10K shares of LHHMQ at 7c.
Just picked up more cheapies here with the K's (anything under .10 is a gift) IMHO. I am ready for a run goobers! (LOL hope you don't mind if I borrow that line). Go figure.
It's already been posted ...
on all four CT boards. Thank you.
GREAT POST and most importantly NO BS. I agree 100%. you should post this on the LEHNQ board. The status of the CTs is the KEY.
The turning point for the CTs will be ...
I have been here for months, both observing and picking up the various flavors of CT shares along the way, patiently waiting (painfully patient, you might say) for the critical turning point for these special securities. That turning point? The Effective Date. We need to get to that point to find out if there will truly be any reasonable and decent value to the CTs.
I have observed all the great DD, and the attempts to rain on the parade by naysayers (you know who you are), and my conclusion is that we can speculate all we want about dividends and deadlines and assets and such, but we don't stand a chance unless the CTs are ruled/considered debt. The Effective Date, from my understanding, will be that time when our brothers and sisters in preferred and commons will be delegated to the big share of pie in the sky that may somehow become something real and edible if Lehman can recover many billions of assets down the road. In the meantime ...
If the CT shares do not get tossed into that LAMCO pot, I believe we will see some amazing things happen. Mind you, if the CTs get paid off at 20%, this will be a life changer(especially for me), and I will be very happy about it, as will many others. However, if they do not get the payoff, but, instead, simply are left alive with the high probability of dividend recovery and payout, share price will likely escalate beyond 50%. There will be long-term investors looking for appreciation and dividends, and the CTs will be quite attractive.
These sort of remind me of the WAHUQ shares, which the hedgies bought for pennies back when WAMU was unrightfully seized. Those WAHUQ shares later rose into the $30 range for a while, until the hedgies got spanked by the Court for IT. Lehman CTs are capped at $25, but that is more than enough, considering the fact that you can buy them now for an average of .10 or less.
So, CT investors and pundits, let's start working on that Effective Date. Let's investigate and see if we can pin it down, when it is due to happen, or when it is supposed to happen. That's all I care about now. Hey, it's cool to dream and plan for dividends, but it's like worrying about taxes before making money. Make the money first! Those dividends will be the talk after we confirm the CT status. Lehman CTs must first rise up above the LAMCO melting pot, and then we can all do the happy dance. And I don't dance much at all, but I really want to do the happy dance!
" There is no Bid or Ask which is why I ask. "
Correction: There was no bid or ask - I see it has shown up now.
Are the Ks Grey Market now?
Holy smokes. I just looked and found i had a 2K fill on these today
Just a FWIW
I i dont have the knowledge most of you do with LEHMAN. but i have been around for some time and continue to buy when i can. IMHO. those of us that are fortunate enough to be in on this are in for a BIG SUPRISE $ IN THE END
I have all 4 ct's lehnq, lehlq, lehkq and lhhmq, lhhmq have been the hardest to get for the ct's. I also have some pref's just in case.
IYHO what do you think realistically this stock price could go 2, and the time frame?
Bump. Lehman Settles Securities Class Action for $40 Million
Lehman Asks Judge To Slash $35 Billion In Banks' Bankruptcy Claims
There is better than a 50% chance the CT's will pay off IMO. I am in to the end no matter what. Whatever you buy, realize this could also not pay anything. So you have to decide if you are long or not.
I am willing to take that gamble.
Buy the cheapest ones you can get. All of those 4 are equal in line for a payout before any other preferred or common get anything.
Thanks, much appreciated! i think I'm gonna try buying lehkq, and lehnq see what happens. even if they have 150 billion in assets the stock price could go to $25 per share. possibly.
The hearing is set I think for Jan 26 or 27. So we should know something I hope before the end of the month. Press has been good about releasing info the same day of the hearings. It's a LOOOONG SHOT.
We still need to find out for sure what the final claim amount is going to be. Last report it's around 400 billion and the creditors wanting 65 billion and we only have 250 billion in assets so the numbers don't add up.
when is the solid news supposed to be released.....or an around about?
IMHO all CT's are equal.
