i like LEARQ for a distribution in the new stock which will bring value from this price, which is why it's protected at .30. But I also believe the profits will come in the new stock, not this, so one should plan on holding for that news and then through the distribution.. remembering that there is a chance the dist. outlined by the court may dissapoint.
yet the best bk plays (and the most rare) survive entirely "as is" or close to it.
use that kcclc.net site .. it's got all the court dates, dockets, all the info you need.. overall, be predisposed to believe they are all worthless unless the balance sheet at time of declared bk is close to assets/liabilities. then you have to choose one where there is no chance of liquidation, or a white horse sale to a private equity group.
search for reasons why the common stock could survive or as in Lear's case receive some small stake in the new co.
Watch bond prices, those bonds will have to hold some value and DIP financing along with any operating profits will pay bonds before anything else IF possible IF management/court wants the company to continue as an independent going concern listed on the stock exchange (which is what it was).
these links are handy too for news.

Your response is much appreciated and certainly has cleared up what is transpiring. You obviously have a great grasp on the process of BK and are well versed both of these proceedings. I did find the link you gave and it is certainly a wealth of information, even to a point where I think I might need a law degree to make complete sense of it all.
Given Lear's situation what is your outlook for them and would you hold shares of theirs now, wait for later or stay away. Your opinion is greatly appreciated and thank you again for taking the time to respond back to me!
Actually, the two-year Dana bk from March 2006 to February 2008 also saw a company name change/cusip/complete new FINRA registration from the old, defunct Dana Corporation to the new holding co, owned by the creditors, Dana Holding. One of the first things they did was issue and sell 500M in more stock in "DAN".. so it's important to distinguish looking at this chart of Dana Holding that the late 2008 nosedive and recent rebound in price, all has happenned outside of the Chapter 11 process, which had already been completed.
Here is an outline from WSJ, this plan has since been approved by the judge, however there is still ambiguity concerning the fate of LEARQ holders and what portion they will get of the new stock. But there is a general belief that there will be somewhere around $20 million in new shares and/or subsciption rights/warrants to the new company when it emerges, that's why LEARQ is rock solid here and when the plan was approved it did not fall to a dime or less.
Under Lear's Chapter 11 restructuring plan, the lenders would forgive their debt in exchange for a new $600 million term loan plus all of a reorganized Lear's preferred stock, valued at $500 million, and a substantial share of the company's new common stock.
Unsecured creditors, including bondholders owed $1.3 billion, would receive a chunk of Lear's common stock plus warrants allowing them to purchase an additional 15% of the company's shares. They are expected to recover about 43% on their claims.
Lear last month filed court documents indicating that its creditors would recover far less in a liquidation. According to an analysis prepared by Alvarez & Marsal, lenders would recover only 36% on their $2.3 billion in claims if the Southfield, Mich., company were to liquidate.
At Friday's hearing, Lear will ask the court to approve an outline of the plan, called a disclosure statement. The court must approve the statement before creditors can begin voting on the plan.
Lear, which makes automotive seats and electronics, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on July 7.

I may be off base but Dana does appear to have been in BK.

If this is not the case what am I missing. I have been trying to locate the information which states the procedure for Lear moving forward regarding it's common shares. Do you know the best place to locate this. Thanks for the input.
there's no comparison. DAN successfully avoided Chapter 11, LEAR did not.
However between Lear's offshore assets which were not part of the Chapter 11 proceedings, and the stated fact that the creditors will be issued the majority (but not all) of the new shares coming is why LEARQ is holding this price.
How much share of the new stock may be owned by LEARQ holders is currently uncertain, but it looks like it will be something.
Has anyone compared the similarities to Dana Holdings DAN and what we are seeing with Lear. DAN went from .19 to over 7.00 and I can't help but like what i see when I compare the two.
I'm interested to hear if anyone has a more pesemistic outlook than I have or even a similar outlook. Thanks in advance for any insight.
woops
that was twice in one day
meant for the WAMPQ board
apologies
Good news today. I think this one has real potential.
from what I read people that wanted a stake with potential lawsuit payouts, needed to file their holdings, and that file date has passed
so trading of this slowing down, which is not a surprise
but like any other stock it will have seasons of interest no matter what happens as long as it is trading
nice volume again today!!!
0.41 no ressistance at the ask
I know
thats why I linked this news posted on google finance
found it odd myself
0.39 nice day for learq

Looks like its moving up again today!!
trying to be realistic here but the charts seem to be breaking out.. Not sure if I should be adding some more..
This is a zombie play.. No sentiments here!! Commons are going to be canceled and so, not sure when everyone will be pulling out.. it may/may not reach $1. No one knows..
What's the sentiment on getting to $1 this year?
looks like the next support is around .41. after that its down to .35-.38
we stay at 0.46 afternoon could be good to go over 0.6
I wish you guys the best of luck - the more you make, the more that goes into the "hot" pool!
p.s. you may want to check the info I posted on the CYTK board.
Of course, and if the courts do not allow the commons to be canceled or if the company decides not to cancel shares and carry over the NOLs for future years.. then, we will be seeing a jump similar to that in VRMLQ!!
I appreciate your posts Atlanta1, and I was similarly incredulous of these BK stocks. But in reality there are much more complicated legal activities that underpin the action. The bond and shareholders are represented in court proceedings which makes it unpredictable.
Hey Atlanta.. I know you well and I respect you. I know you even "contributed" to the forestry teams well being by "sacrificing" something to appease the Gods!! I am guilty of instigating you but it was all in good faith!! :)
I am not in love with this stock.. But recent events have made me realize these zombie runs can be profitable.. I wanted to get into ERPLQ but when I heard they are going to cancel their shares, I backed off and it went 400% in 3 days.
Well, I have such a small position in this that I really don't care if they cancel the shares today and take it away from me today. But, if its going up a little more, I will be cashing out. This is a 'quickie' for me.. Its awesome to do it slow and steady with the one you love, but the occasional 'quickie' with a random stranger is also fun!! ;)
Just my 2 cents..
not bashing - just friendly advice from an old guy:
don't fall in love with this - the only reason it moved up was a pump from a letter. there is no fundamental reason for the move - the company has already said the stock will be cancelled.
just my opinion, of course..
some consolidation in the early hours but I bet we move soon!!
yup.. breaching yesterdays high will be awesome.. this will be a good ride while it lasts..
0.52!!! goes up again, could be 2e nice day
Nope.. Some say it was a pump letter from one of those 'market awareness' list.
Holy Chihuahua !! I knew this would have value, this soon ???
VSTN also on a major tear !!!
david. looks like you might be very accurate with your prediction!! Great job buying at .23!!
yes.. these are the actual zombie runs.. So many plays though clearly mention the commons will be cancelled, run like 200 to 300% for no reason.. Well.. its nice to be a part of the 3005 run..
Amazing.I'm happy for you guys. Make sure to lock in those profits..
close at 0.58 and tomorrow to 0.75- 0.85
nice.. I am a small time gambler with stocks like these.. 10k for me.. But its looking nice in my portfolio today!!
50 cents are up.. we are halfway there :)
i have 30.000 learq from 0.23
WOW this is nice; BIG buys follow;
could go fast above 1 $
Looks like we are the only ones here enjoying this ride :)
LEARQ Bid: 0.472 Ask: 0.475 Last: 0.48 ($): 0.175 Vol: 9,303,402
Heard about that atlanta.. I am just playing the momo and will be out once the momo is over.. These runs dont make sense to hold long but short term can be good trades.. IMO.. Just like NRTLQ.. took a gain of 40% in 4 days and out!!
Congratulations! (but - don't forget to sell before they cancel the stock or before this pumped balloon busts)
BIG BUYS!!! I AM in at 0.23; to the dollar!
yes - I am not a paid subscriber.
Anyone who would recommend a stock that the company has stated WILL be cancelled won't get any subscription money from me.
It may make people money, but it's just wild speculation and dumb luck.
no he is not a pumper because his sometimes take a few weeks to unfold. You are probably not a paid subscriber and you got a freebie. he sends those out every once in a while.
