A splendid essay Vex!
Cops fail to understand that Justice is different than The Law.
On my family land I struggle pay the taxes every year. One of these days a Sheriff will appear with an eviction notice. We have owned the land for over a hundred years. We improved it and maintained it. I say it is not Justice but the cop who serves the papers will think he did a good days work.

Gun-Grabbers Don’t Quit
By Tim Shoemaker on August 1, 2012 in National Blog
http://www.campaignforliberty.org/national-blog/gun-grabbers-dont-quit-2/
Senators Frank Lautenberg and Chuck Schumer, two of the Senate's most famous gun-grabbers are at it again.
This time, they're trying to insert a ban on clips, feed strips, and belts of more than 10 rounds of ammunition to the so-called "Cybersecurity" Act of 2012, S. 3414, that C4L previously asked our supporters to oppose.
This knee-jerk reaction to the tragedy in Colorado is an example of exploiting tragedy for political gain at its worst.
Senator Schumer believes that passing laws to restrict the legal access to firearms will prevent "unneccessary casualties."
Sadly, we all know this isn't the case. Criminals don't follow the law, that's why they're criminals. The only thing regulation of firearms will accomplish is in creating more law-abiding victims.
The Second Amendment isn't simply about hunting or sports. Though ripping off 100 tracer rounds out of an automatic rifle at exploding targets sure does look fun. (Don't believe me? Just looks at this 2010 video of the Knob Creek Machine Gun shoot.)
Owning firearms is about self-defense and a citizens' last defense against a tyrannical government. That's the right of every American, and one that we should fight tooth & nail to defend.
Gun-grabbers don't quit, and neither should we. Contact your senators and urge them to oppose SA 2575, the Schumer "Magazine Ban" and to vote "NO" on the so-called "Cybersecurity" Act of 2012, S. 3414.

The Law

Foreword
Walter E. Williams
I must have been forty years old before reading Frederic
Bastiat’s classic The Law. An anonymous person, to whom I shall
eternally be in debt, mailed me an unsolicited copy. After reading
the book I was convinced that a liberal-arts education without
an encounter with Bastiat is incomplete. Reading Bastiat
made me keenly aware of all the time wasted, along with the
frustrations of going down one blind alley after another, organizing
my philosophy of life. The Law did not produce a philosophical
conversion for me as much as it created order in my thinking
about liberty and just human conduct.
Many philosophers have made important contributions to
the discourse on liberty, Bastiat among them. But Bastiat’s greatest
contribution is that he took the discourse out of the ivory
tower and made ideas on liberty so clear that even the unlettered
can understand them and statists cannot obfuscate them.
Clarity is crucial to persuading our fellowman of the moral superiority of personal liberty.
Walter E. Williams is the John M. Olin Distinguished Professor of Economics at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia.
The law perverted! And the police powers of the state perverted along with it! The law, I say, not only turned from its proper purpose but made to follow an entirely contrary purpose! The law become the weapon of every kind of greed! Instead of checking crime, the law itself guilty of the evils it is supposed to punish!
If this is true, it is a serious fact, and moral duty requires me to call the attention of my fellow-citizens to it.

there are no viruses at that site. it is former military and LE, here is their about page.

doesnt work (that button) but this.....
..
board should be "blocked". im hoping admin deals with it in the am.
oh, i see you said it "blocks a poster".. no. wrong.
this odd feature is not for that, and it doesnt work. to block a poster, you click on them and block them.
so, why cant this board me marked as a "favorites"?
i want to see it go down. sorry but you all are doing an injustice for the men and woman that bust their ass for you and your families.
that feature was renamed some time ago. that is the block feature for a poster I think.
i wont click on a link from..
..
anyone that hates police, as it may have a virus attached.
you are not hearing me anyway. im sad for people like you, but you sure did hit my button, as did this board that i found by chance.
i cant even mark the board, as its that awful. no way to watch it by marking it.
I see they reference this site. http://oathkeepers.org/oath/
Have you every been to it? I have a news feed from them. Go take a look before you judge it.
i see you are a mod here, what gives?
are you able to "mark" or "follow"....................
..
this board?
i see on option for it. very odd. i see something new called "filter enabled or disabled???" huh?
ha! there is no way that i see, to follow this board? maybe ihub is in the process of taking it down, or, you all have to find it by hand?
really? you didnt read the hatred in the..
..
info box?
you dont see the posts on the board?
i may have to mark this horrible board, to make sure that i see all of the filth that is said about the bravest men and woman in the world.
if you post on a board hating on the few military folks, that lost there way, and did bad thuings, i bet it wont last long. most people are good. this board is not good.
I have no idea what was posted here prior to today, I have not read through the past posts. That was my first post here. I do not think it is the intent of the "new" board mod for this to be a hate forum. I see it as awareness of what is beginning to happen to police due to the political and agenda driven society we have become.
no, hes not, he is...
..
a cop basher and you just said in a post i found, that you have them in your family. please read the posts of his on 5/1 as you may not have yet seen?
i am also sorry that i, by chance, followed a long time ihub friend, andy, into this board.
now I see that it was made in 2008 to bash the police???
one day, you will need the police. you will hope/pray that they come through that door, to help you just in time.
maybe even save your life. 14 followers. i love ihub, but in this case, i hope it hits zero followers, or gets pulled.
night night.
um, yes, it is against the law. if an officer tells you to pull your hands out of your pockets, and you dont, you go down (for the safey of all involved.)
if you dont get out of a car, for his safety, with your hands up on his order, its against the law.
its a law... so abide by it, or move to another country.
sorry you see my post as that.
its ok, this cop hater board has been reported to admin. i will not put up with this garbage on ihub.
to late to edit, 2am here too late for me to be up. "those" should have been "choose"
im not even going to..
..
view the story. you all are nuts.
i dont know about the age of the....
..
board here or who runs it. i may check this later, but again, what you are posting is probable the one in a million crap cops or cps people.
i know first hand, what cps and my hubbies squad, has to do, to jump hoops to save a boy that is hurt by a man that a family trusted, or a girl, where, well, too many things to mention there.
so, whatever this board is. it better not just bash the cops. most cops are good. i know this for a fact. some are bad, thats a fact too.
get your facts straight and maybe post when a cop saved someone, time to time.
They made a choice. Follow CPS or look for the truth, unfortunately they those to be pawns of CPS.

Police Take California Couples Five Month Old Baby After They Seek Second Medical Opinion

A California couple had their five-month-old baby “snatched” by police after they took the infant to get a second opinion on a medical procedure, they claim.
Anna and Alex Nikolayev are described as loving parents who took their baby, who has a heart murmur, to Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento when he started exhibiting flu-like symptoms. The family has undergone plenty of doctor visits in the last five months for the their son’s heart, and were unsettled by the treatment he was receiving.
At one point, Anna says, a nurse came in and started giving the baby, named Sammy, medicine. When she asked what it was the nurse allegedly replied, “I don’t know.”
“I’m like, you’re working as a nurse, and you don’t even know what to give to my baby…?” Anna said in an interview with ABC’s local affiliate, News10/KXTV.
They later found out that medicine was antibiotics, which Anna claims the doctor told her Sammy shouldn’t have received.
After doctors started discussing heart surgery, the Nikolayevs decided they wanted a second opinion. They weren’t categorically opposed to the procedure, but they wanted a different doctor.
“If we got the one mistake after another, I don’t want to have my baby have surgery in the hospital where I don’t feel safe,” Anna explained.

The doctors at Sutter Memorial allegedly argued against consulting other health experts, pressuring her to stay put. Anna remained firm. She took her baby from the hospital without a proper discharge, and went straight to Kaiser Permanente Hospital.
Doctors there said the baby was safe to go home with his parents, one writing in the paperwork: “I do not have concern for the safety of the child at home with his parents.”
But while they were at the hospital, police showed up.
“They told us that Sutter was telling them so much bad stuff that they thought that this baby is dying on our arms,” Anna recalled. But when police saw the doctor’s evaluation, Anna says they said, “Okay guys, you have a good day,” and left.
But the family wasn’t at peace for long.
The next day police showed up at the Nikolayev’s home with representatives from Child Protective Services (CPS). Alex went outside to meet them, where he says he was “pushed against the building.” When he asked if he was being placed under arrest, he said they “smacked me down onto the ground [and] yelled out, ‘I think I got the keys to the house.’”
Seeing the scene outside, Anna set up a camera in front of her door.
Video shows police letting themselves in without a warrant, and taking the baby.
“I’m going to grab your baby, and don’t resist, and don’t fight me okay?” one officer can be heard telling the mother in the video.
Anna described it with tears in her eyes: “He’s like, ‘okay let your son go,’ so I had to let him go, and he grabbed my arm, so I couldn’t take Sammy. And they took Sammy, and they just walked away.”

News10 has video of the incident in its report (there’s also an interview with the family):
A number of news agencies have reached out to police, the hospital, and child protective services, but none has spoken out on the issue. News10, which has worked on the story at length, says police and the hospital both referred questions to Child Protective Services, which said it can’t comment on specific cases because of privacy laws.
Anna says she was told by a CPS worker that her baby was taken because of “severe neglect.”
The couple can’t believe the rationale, saying: “We did everything…We went from one hospital to another. We just wanted to be safe, that he is in good hands.”
“It seems like parents have no rights whatsoever,” Alex said. Originally from Russia, he said the situation reminds him of a “communist regime.”
The couple’s attorney, Joe Weinberger, remarked: “It’s absolutely amazing to me how a government can reach out and snatch a child after a doctor said there’s not an issue…As we’ve seen, there is no emergency situation in this case…I can’t imagine having my baby ripped from my arms.”
He acknowledges that the couple erred in taking their baby from Sutter Memorial without a proper discharge, but it has now been roughly two weeks since the situation began. Anna says she was able to visit her baby for an hour last Thursday.
A court date has been scheduled for today, Monday April 29. TheBlaze will keep you posted as the story develops.
Hi Gail, I know you from other boards. Tyranny exists and this board will try and expose it.
Lots of great people go into LE and get corrupted. Many Judges follow mandatory minimum sentencing. Fully informed juries and Nullification grant some hope.
It is just the first day of the new board and the old mod had a bad chip on his shoulder. I will try and do better.
From Serpico to Rodney King to the hundreds of stories that appear daily on the internet there is a bad flaw in the system. Just last month cops poured a hundred rounds into an unarmed 19 year old hiding in that boat in Boston.
I agree that in obvious child abuse cases there is urgency but in many cases kids are being abducted by the CPS for failure to vaccinate or lately from parents who choose to home school.
b4
omg. here we go! that is a..
..
bunch of b/s first of all.
also, oddly enough, bryan, my hubby, runs the child abuse and sex abuse squad. (just south of DC)
the only kids that get "pulled" (and more need to be) are mostly from the dad's that f their daughters. read the news. its all over the world, not just in one county in va. but its bad, you have NO idea.
so, go ahead and attack the police, for doing what they wish they could have done the first time dad raped his kid, vs having to wait til the 3rd or 10th time.
this board is not making me very happy right about now.
and im glad that their are only 14 sorry followers to such a mess here.
hi there. i simply was happy to see the..
..
board that i found andy on, but then saw the ibox, about how awful the police are.
honestly, my hubby (still in law enf) would not want me posting here, but hey, im not afraid.
well, thats because you...
...
refuse to hear me out.
fidelity is it's own animal. i figured out what their rules are but YOU wont hear me out.
so, you keep getting suspended cause you are hard headed.
still love ya though.
hi all, i was a police officer at first in fredericksburg va, then fairfax county va.
hubby is still one for a short time more, then retires.
you wanna rip into cops? im all ears.
Even cops who think they are "good ones" are still subject to agency policies and procedures. It could be as simple as ticket quotas or dangerous as seizing children under CPS orders.
For the most part cops have been relieved of using any discretion in their duty and do illegal acts at the bidding of their department.
Citizen review boards used to be a big deal around here but are gone now. The computer age means you are never free from a wrongful arrest. Those will still stay on the public record for the rest of your life.
b4
Hi gail, thanks for visiting COPS. No one hates you.
b4
hi gail..post away..they will hate u..how u doing..guess who just got another 90 suspension..thats 3 or 4 for me..
ha, check your board out. maybe i can post some fun stories of when i was a cop. i was one of the nice ones.
oh, maybe not, i just noticed that this is a cop hater board. sigh.
we do have police down here..and its much more enjoyable dealing with them most of the time then up there..
Citizen Arrested at Suspicionless Checkpoint for Not Obeying Petty Commands
In Georgia, a citizen was arrested last month at an unconstitutional checkpoint for refusing to obey cops demanding he fully roll down his car window. The man was arrested for “obstructing justice,” in other words for not completely submitting to domination and submission procedures the state now requires as it wantonly violates the Fourth Amendment.
"I think in this instance the guy didn’t want to let the window down, didn’t want to talk to the officer and didn’t want to give him the information. So when you don’t give the information you can be charged with obstruction on a traffic stop," Lt. Amelio Lamkin of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office told WJBF in Augusta, Georgia.
The TV station instructed citizens to obey all orders given by cops violating the Constitution. “If you come to a [Fourth Amendment violating] road block, police say the best thing to do is to roll down your window all the way, put both of your hands on the steering wheel, and if you have to look inside of your glove box, make sure you let the officer know that before you do so,” Mike Miller advised.
The victim in this case, James Eades of Augusta, said suspicionless roadblocks are about revenue generation. "It’s obviously to cite and arrest as many people as possible, and to raise as much revenue as possible," he said.
The state’s men (and a couple women) in black, otherwise known as the Supreme Court, have ruled that suspicionless revenue-generating roadblocks are not unconstitutional. In the case of Michigan v. Sitz (496 U.S. 444), the Supremes reviewed a decision handed down by the Michigan Supreme Court ruling that drunk driving roadblocks are unconstitutional. In a 6-3 decision, the handpicked Supremes reversed the Michigan court ruling and held that roadblocks are constitutionally permissible.
The “Highest Court in the Land” decided there is something called a "DUI Exception" to the Fourth Amendment. It allows cops to ignore probable cause – for the good of the community and lobbyists at MADD.
Back in the day, the Jeffersonians knew that if the federal government ever became the final arbiter of the law, tyranny would follow in due course.
“The so-called system of checks and balances is a farce and a fraud,” writes Thomas J. DiLorenzo, “the reality is that all three branches of the federal government work together to conspire against the taxpayers for the benefit of the state and all of its appendages.”
Marshall DeRosa was spot-on when he wrote that the Supreme Court is "a facilitator of the national ruling class’s hegemony over the constitutional rights of the States." The Supreme Court, however, also serves as an enabler for state and local governments when they want to engage in shakedowns and scams designed to fleece the American people and enlarge a privatized prison-industrial complex.
Thankfully, more Americans than ever are now aware that government is a leech on the public. James Eades of Augusta pointed this out in the news video above and, remarkably, the local news station didn’t edit his comment pointing out that the purpose of unconstitutional and suspicionless checkpoints is to generate revenue for government, not public safety, as the police claim.

Hi acc! I know you don't have police down there but I am always glad to hear from you. Welcome to the board my friend.
b4
Until Vietnam, police were mostly recruited from their local area. That was real community policing. It was a blue collar job.
Since the 1980's it has been Federalized. Modern cops need college degrees that include a bunch of psychology that is crap. Dominance theory and intimidation are the rule. Aggression from a stranger will always result in a defensive response out of fear.
When officers did not wear body armor they were less likely to attack helpless citizens.
