Well.. I guess OREX is making a little comeback here.. but at least they have an obesity drug currently ( even if it has a tendency to cause suicidal thoughts )..

so maybe ZFGN will catch some sympathy.. even without a drug


maybe this is the place to get in, maybe not. Any stock that goes from $45.00 to $3.27 in a year is serious cause for concern. more likely to go .45 than back to $45.00 in the next year.. Purely speaking from a Statistical perspective.

How much money does ZFGN have? enough to develop this 'New' drug take through trials??.. or will they need to do a capital raise?

Zafgen abandoned its lead drug, beloranib—an obesity treatment beset by safety problems—and will instead put its resources behind a follow-on preclinical obesity drug that it believes to be much safer. Xconomy spoke with CEO Tom Hughes about the decision, which is terrible news for patients with the rare disease Prader-Willi Syndrome; Zafgen had hoped to win FDA approval of beloranib in Prader-Willi, which would have made it the first marketed drug for the disease since human growth hormone over a decade ago. Shares of Zafgen fell more than 50 percent on the news.


So basically.. any buying of stock here is pure speculation that they will come up with a new drug? and re-invent themselves as a company. Crystal Ball sees a capital raise in future ?

I don't see that happening. This couldn't print intra-day highs Wednesday despite strong volume and never re-tested yesterday's pre-market highs. In fact, it never came close, despite green intermittently during the trading session. Classic trap to pull longs in. Trending yesterday was down. I see that continuing until we get a re-test of that $7.50 marker.

Shorts are a despicable bunch. Hate them...but....in this market, I'm shorting anything with the kind of gain this one provided. Wanted to short in the pre, but brokerage wouldn't allow me to. Oh well. Target: $7.25. Only way to really be green as volatility reins these days.
