The Retail Group consists of 63 company-owned La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries stores located in nine markets ranging from the Midwest to the East Coast of the United States. This Group sells upholstered furniture to end consumers through the retail network. As of April 29, 2006, the company had 63 owned standalone La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries stores, independent dealers for 246 standalone La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries stores, and 340 instore galleries. It markets its products through independent sales representatives. The company was founded in 1927. It was formerly known as La-Z-Boy Chair Company and changed its name to La-Z-Boy Incorporated in 1996. La-Z-Boy is based in Monroe, Michigan.
