BROOMFIELD, Colo., Dec. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Global telecommunications provider Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NYSE: LVLT) will assist the NORAD Tracks Santa program during the 2014 holiday season by providing voice services to the Peterson Air Force Base and North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). NORAD hosts an annual mission to track Santa Claus as he journeys across the globe to deliver presents on December 24.

Level 3 Communications will enable the phone hotline for NORAD Tracks Santa's live operations center during the 2014 holiday season.
The popular program is centered on a live operations center manned by 1,250 volunteers, named Santa Trackers, who answer phone calls and emails from children around the world. The Colorado Springs, Colorado-based center receives around 117,000 phone calls annually from children asking the whereabouts of Santa. Level 3's voice services provide secure and redundant support for the high volume of communications.

"NORAD Tracks Santa is truly a global experience, delighting generations of families everywhere," said Stacey Knott from NORAD. "This is due, in large part, to the efforts and services of numerous program contributors like Level 3."

"The local voice services we provide Peterson Air Force Base and NORAD enable critical communications around-the-clock, 365 days a year," said Tracy Shaufler, general manager for Colorado at Level 3. "We are excited to extend our voice services during the holiday season to support this special program. Our technicians will be on 24-hour alert to work closely with the NORAD operations team to ensure seamless communication services during the holiday event."

Beginning at 12:01 a.m. MT/2:01 a.m. ET on December 24, families can watch Santa make preparations for his flight. At 4:01 a.m. MT/6:01 a.m. ET, the NORAD Tracks Santa operations center goes live and people can call toll-free [phone] or email [e-mail] to inquire about Santa's location. The website provides information in eight languages – English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese and Chinese.

In addition, official NORAD Tracks Santa apps are available on smart phones and tablets to count down the days until Santa's launch. Tracking opportunities are offered on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Google+. Santa followers just need to type "@noradsanta" into each search engine to get started.

Level 3 will now provide services to the group across four business units: ProSiebenSat.1 Digital, ProSiebenSat.1 Games, ProSiebenSat.1 Produktion and maxdome GmbH.

The use of Level 3's content delivery network (CDN) and security services supports the ProSiebenSat.1 group in achieving the diversification of revenue streams beyond TV advertising, which is one of its key strategic goals. Yes the Dow is record highs and its about time for a correction IMO but dont know when are how much and guess it will depend on the ISISL deal and if the Fed raises the interest rates and such but really not looking for a Big correction right now. No i dont fool with the Guitar much either anymore. As i,ve got older i changed doing alot of things that i use to do and become more of a home body now and spend alot of time doing DD on stocks and such. Re: "The Market making a Big Correction". I read this back in march 2013, saved and stuck in the back of my mind for later. I pulled it up last week and I thought that you might like to read it and share your thoughts. Dow has been on a bull run and hitting new highs for quite some time now. The slight pullback last month didn't materialize into anything, here we are still hitting record highs for the Dow. After 1999-2000 & 2007. I have become vigil.
Do you still play your guitar ? Mine is sitting in the corner of the room gathering dust. I pick it up about once every 2 weeks or so. I never learned to read music and was not blessed with my mom's talent. Everything that I know was by accident only. :)

$ LVLT. Yes its not a trade type stock anymore other than if you see the whole Market making a Big Correction. I rarely fool with it are any of my other stocks but fool with the pinkies a little for a hobbie are pass time. Yes i use to love to buy LVLT in the $1.15-30 range and it would run up to the $1.75 -$ 1.90 range and i would sell and buy back lower but those days are over now. My Dad taught me to play the Guitar when i was very young and he was pretty good also. I Love all the old Country & Gospel Music and i still like LVLT also Lol. I traded LVLT around 2009. I had this company mixed up with
L-3 Communications the aircraft company. krisofterson was an aircraft engineer. Sorry.... I have slept since I traded LVLT and it slipped my mind. LVLT is too pricey now for my tastes but GL with your trades. BTW, we lived on a farm the first 8 years of my life and I received a good dose of country music from my parents also. My mother played piano by ear and sung. She could play any country or gospel song that she heard. I tested her one time to see if she could play a rock & roll song, she picked it up the melody with one listen. She was very gifted, if she could hum it she could play it.

CEO1, #2200, Thanks. You know L3 was formerly Raytheon, which was formerly E-Systems, which was formerly LTV (Ling-Temco-Vault), which was formerly Temco when the company first appeared. The reason that I know this is because my Mother and Father (God Rest Their Souls) both went to work for Temco in 1952-53. That is where they met. They both retired from there prior to the last company name change. I am quite familiar with L3's business and have photos of Planes in my garage that my parents worked on over the years.

BROOMFIELD, Colorado, Oct. 31, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NYSE: LVLT) announced that, in connection with the closing of its acquisition of tw telecom inc., tw telecom holdings, inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of tw telecom inc., called for redemption all of tw telecom holdings' outstanding 5.375% Senior Notes due 2022 (CUSIP Nos. 87311X AD0 and 87311X AF5) and 6.375% Senior Notes due 2023 (CUSIP No. 87311X AH1).

tw telecom inc. issued its common stock to Level 3 in an "Equity Offering" (as defined in the indentures governing each series of tw telecom holdings' senior notes). tw telecom holdings is using the proceeds of that Equity Offering to redeem 35 percent of the outstanding principal amount of each issue of its 5.375% Senior Notes due 2022 and of its 6.375% Senior Notes due 2023. The redemption price for the $325.5 million aggregate principal amount of 5.375% Notes due 2022 being redeemed with the proceeds of the Equity Offering is 105.375% of the principal amount thereof, plus accrued and unpaid interest to, but excluding the redemption date. The redemption price for the $122.5 million aggregate principal amount of 6.375% Notes due 2023 being redeemed with the proceeds of the Equity Offering is 106.375% of the principal amount thereof, plus accrued and unpaid interest to, but excluding the redemption date. Take look at the chart from inception, and you will readily see what I mean. On a comparative Split-adjusted (reverse-split-adjusted) basis, today LVLT is trading at less than 2% of its all time high, and at less than 5% of its initial share price when it went public and started trading. pathetic hardly describes LVLT's long term performance.

Not surprising. For years LVLT has been crushed down under a huge mountain of debt, and it is now taking on a bunch more debt. That is obviously viewed by many as a huge negative. Longer term shareholders, and those who have been around since the late 90's through all the hype and the initial run up to $130 prior to all the revers splits, have grown weary of the huge losses in the investment debacle that has been LVLT.

$ LVLT. Level 3 Announces Marketing of New Tranche B 2022 Term Loan.

BROOMFIELD, Colorado, Oct. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NYSE: LVLT) today announced that Level 3 Financing, Inc., its wholly owned subsidiary ("Level 3 Financing"), has begun the marketing of a new senior secured tranche under its existing senior secured credit facility (the "Tranche B 2022 Term Loan").

The net proceeds of the Tranche B 2022 Term Loan to Level 3 Financing will be used to finance the cash portion of the merger consideration payable to tw telecom inc. stockholders pursuant to the pending acquisition of tw telecom inc. and to refinance certain existing indebtedness of tw telecom inc., including fees and premiums, in connection with the closing of that acquisition.

Level 3 Financing expects the closing of the new Tranche B 2022 Term Loan will take place with the closing of the pending acquisition of tw telecom inc., subject to the execution of definitive documents and customary closing conditions.
