"What am I missing?"

Stock hasn't done much because company management has a very long history of under-delivering on promises.

Every quarterly CC, they have some sort of excuse why the promised growth didn't come to fruition.

The growth driver is unmanned systems but the schedule continues to be pushed out to the right on every program in this division. No meaningful unmanned revenue growth will show up until 2021, at the earliest. Don't hold yer breath.

Meanwhile, the company continues to publish wildly misleading press releases regarding "contract wins". Last week was the latest example when they issued a PR claiming a $400 million, 5-year Skyborg contract win. They won nothing. One has to read the PR issued by the Air Force to get the real story. AF issued the contract to FOUR companies: Boeing, General Atomics, Kratos and Lockheed-Martin. Kratos must now compete with these three companies on every task order released against this contract.

Last week's rumor about a buyout is also par for the course. Kratos shares get goosed about once a year with these fake rumors. Lockheed-Martin was attached to the latest rumored buyer. Pure nonsense.

Well since your post, we've seen that KTOS management is the same as it has always been. Forever has an excuse as to why the company missed its estimates or timelines.

This time around they had multiple excuses. The earthquakes out at China Lake last summer which delayed a Gremlins test flight, the 2020 CR that dragged out into December and the anomaly investigation on the 3rd test flight for Valkyrie which dragged on for four months.

Surely next quarterly CC, they'll trot out CV-19 as an excuse. You can probably also bet they'll trot out some blame for any Gremlins delay on the buyout of Dynetics by Leidos Holdings (announced in December).

Bottom line, 2020 is a lost year. Even if the company hits the high end of its sales forecast this will be just mid single-digit growth. Worse still, management tells us that there will be no Valkyrie deliveries, Project Airwolf deliveries or Gremlins deliveries until 2021.

Stock is dead money for the rest of the year. Chart reflecting this. Support at 11, resistance at 16 and 17.

Per Market Beat there are seven BUY ratings and one HOLD for KTOS.
That average price of $24.67 seems pretty conservative since KTOS is again knocking on the door of a $20 share price and is delivering tne goods in the areas it competes.

No real reason as far as i can see. Thats why im not concerned. When the wind blows the market sells. Recent drop affected all but will rebound .always does. Also inveatment funds like to take profit especially when a company is at a year high and have an ER coming up soon that is probably good. Should see a price jump. Dont be fooled by year end tax selling. This stock could be 40 next year

Company should demo V Drone with launch only from Navy carrier, would not need to have tail hook installed for return to carrier (just a way to show its potential market) . . . a naval aircraft could then take over and fly
the drone alongside it . . . and then turn it over to ground unit for
landing on airstrip? It could thus do recon mission over hostile low threat environment.

No reason one could not add strike and/or A-A defensive missiles underwing
mounts. The V would be great escort for unarmed aircraft missions also, and could be run from same aircraft, plus add a refuel prob to V.

It would be a great challenge drone to interact for training opposing aircraft, as it can maneuver and take higher Gs than piloted opponents.
Also cheaper to fly as to fuel loads.

Lets face up to the fact that operating personnel can be trained at far less cost to operate it (and would appeal to VG-ers for career recruitment). <---There is a shortage of available human pilots right now, and maintaining crews would have less to do, as not terribly high-tech. The Services need a subsonic fleet of these drones, that can cheaply create a second-tier medium speed/range offense/defensive force
for things like border patrol projection extending out to beyond our territorial limits?

BA and LMT, etc. drones are much more $$s and have other missions space
profiles beyond the V drone capability.

One might also envision a V with a
Ram/Scam jet engine exchange.
Eventually, Future Military budgeting is going to be cut back . . . as USA regroups back to Canada and Americas Force Positioning and relies on SAC and Space Forces and ATC to carry the offensive load.
Domestic Green and Infrastructure and Housing and IOT AI Robots and Health care and Education are going to take the larger share of Federal and State Budgets.

V Drone funding should be included into the new concept ETech Virtual Wall Border Funding Request.

This company has the goods needed NOW and is the low-cost Back Stop in case Big Boys Aerospace 'has issues'.
