What's up with the significant drop and low volume? Is there another disappointment in the works?
Not for me, in fact book value would be a great exit point for me, if it reaches and if I choose to exit. Not bragging, just saying after all these years of ownership I'd be more than glad to walk away.
Dang, got a dollar. Only nine more to go.

Well, you got your dollar....congrats.
Well, you got your dollar....congrats.
you're right....they have till 4:00pm
Patience my friend
They're not deploying it today
One last thought. I think mgt. just put a floor in on the share price and therefore have in effect changed the risk profile of this penny stock. Very favorable imo
I wonder what management believes what fair value is. As illiquid as the stock is can you imagine what deploying $1 million could do to move the price higher.
I thought they were just being polite saying they'd talk about it at a board meeting. I would not be a seller here now although I did sell a few at .90 a few weeks ago.
This subject was brought up during the last CC. Gene said the board was discussing the possibility, but it was brought up in the context of the sale of one or possibly two carousels, so I'm wondering if there might be something up there, and wouldn't that be good for the share price.
maybe it can break a buck going north this time.
DPDW to repurchase $1 million in stock !
Can we get a buck? Been around long enough to be skeptical but I still hold some. Anybody know if they'll be at OTC this year?

Somebody is adding still....maybe it's Aegis which runs a bottom fishing value fund.
Tothe, unfortunately your math is off for my one lone share.
I paid $1.21 for it and today is was worth eighty-one cents.
My broker charges $9.99 a trade. Soz you can see, I have to sell at over ten kazolas to make it whole.
I'm rooting for you guys and unfortunately Ron and the Boys are getting some of their money back too despite their refusal to give the address of the "Panama Division," their absolute control of the company and what has been a historical lack of consideration for their investors.
Buena suerte.

DPDW weekly chart
I wish my investments would look like this.
You cleared the 52 week high and now are in blue skies.
YTD you just had a one bagger. Investors love four month one baggers, traders bailed out at 25% in December. the longs are having the last laugh.
MFI is in overbought. The longs have been accumulating all this year. By year-end you will have a 4 bagger.
Crooks Are On A Roll: DPDW Going Higher
As I wrote at year end, when these crooks actually pay CASH out of their pockets to buy stock, you are fools not to do so.
They are actually on a roll. I couldn't find any time bombs on their 10-k, usually you can find 5 or 6 easy ones, not this time.
Goodwill is down to zero.
Cleaned up revenue recognition policy finally.
Share count actually went DOWN (versus slightly but still pretty amazing).
Not paying cash taxes for years
Only 275k warrants/options currently issued at an average strike price of $1.80/sh
Finally dumped Channelview (anyone every been there, what a dump and Ron let his dogs free reign of the office and you could tell. You could hear his dogs barking in the last conference call, how professional).
Debt free, strong working capital, selling half of book
And despite what spec machine claims, the two newer Directors are independent and quick google searches easy to see these guys come from credible backgrounds.
If they get anything for those Carousels the stock is going much higher. I still don't trust Ron as far as I could roll a Carousel. But the order from Shell is real and these long lead deepwater project that take years will continue to come in for a few years despite the downturn.
Ironically enough, these guys will survive. If they had any common sense they would be looking to buy something but then again, everything they have ever bought has been a disaster.
I am dancing with the devil, I am long with these crooks but I think the new Balance sheet and directors this could turn into half a real company.
The trend is your friend...have a great weekend
37k on bid and that's at .82, not .38 Christmas sale.
Yeah....rosier but in a way more sober. I have to think we're near 52 week highs today for a reason.
It was a little rosier than usual but clearly Shell is giving them more work and they say it's t and m. 7 million in cash and 0 debt sounds pretty good. I am skeptical of a carousel sale until the check clears but who knows.
Have you listened to the call, and if so what is your impression?
7 million in cash would imply they had a decent first qtr working on Shell order which was all t and m.
Just finished listening to a replay on the CC and I REMAIN ENCOURAGED this stock can move much higher, which after all is what we really care about. We might even see a stock repurchase event given the net cash available. I was surprised by the number of questioners and to me suggests there is real investor interest at the possibility of capital gains. For me, book value is a realistic price target in the next 12 months.
Claivoyant?
Or just observant of human behavior in all its variations including pathological liars?
Quote:
..../ it galls me when they conveniently change their definition of "backlog" when it appears it was a whimsical imaginary number for quite some time.
It's why I'm appalled in comparing actual activities to what was stated in my archived conference call recordings. Their "forward looking statements" don't have any connection to their actual near-term or mid-term activities. It's almost comical how far off their puffery is. In fact, every time Smith slows down his verbal tempo to emphasize a point, it turns out to be proven false later. The words fall out of his mouth without any meaning. Like when Clinton slows his tempo down to emphasize and says "I did not have sexual relations with that girl, Ms Lewinski". We know how truthful that was.
Play back some old conf calls and you'll see.
Listen for it, take note, and check back to see what actually happens. It's a verbal "tell"
One of the statements in the most recent call was the claim that they would recover the demobilization cost. I'm betting that will never happen and it'll get lumped in with some other costs as losses and unexpected expenses.
Another classic line from not long ago was the "We have never lost an order" right after they built a carousel that the customer wouldn't take delivery of. HAHA whoopsie!
When questioned in the conference call, Smith went off on a rambling story for I think 12 minutes (IIRC) blaming everybody except the Easter bunny for the problem and got himself so confused that he said EMAS was one of the parties that wanted to purchase that same carousel!
In my world (which I think is based on reality), none of the directors are independent and I've stated here why I think that. So really, there is no reason to expect a change in direction toward something that would generate increased investor value. Butler summed it up by saying "It's not really a turn-around story" and "It's a really fun place to be". One can only assume that he is speaking from a lavishly paid insider viewpoint (with other family members on the payroll), and not as someone who would, or has, purchased shares on the open market.
4th qtr was flat....net income of 100k...that carousel just keeps on giving
Non payment for balance of carousel

Another ugly 4th qtr or maybe restatement of revenue dragged everything down
Doesn't look like they're going bankrupt anytime soon....hard to do with 0 debt.
Taby, many of us agree with you and think DPDW is making progress towards great growth. Some of the long-term posters here have had such bad experiences is the past that they have little faith despite any promising signs. Only time will tell. I maintain ample faith.
Thanks for taking over the moderator position. Regardless of the bad vibes present here I personally think the outlook is promising. Good Luck!
2 weeks till the next batch of bad news
I'm predicting they lost another $1M in Q2 and they'll need to write several million off the A/R number for bogus billings they have no chance of collecting (sometime before the 10-K gets audited)
No sales, no big contracts, no NHUs, not a single happy customer of a DDI designed carousel.
The carousel that Emas refused delivery of sits in a heap of parts at the hwy 90 property.
All they're doing now is sitting on their fat duffs and collecting their bloated paychecks as long as they can.
On the other hand these hillbillies have never demonstrated that kind of strategic thinking.
One would think.
Best way to get a raise is show profit and sell a few shares.
Don't forget, the poor Capn' and Little Buddy have been toiling without a raise for a long time. They're about due for one, especially if DPDW threatens to post an actual profit.
Good luck!

Debt is now around 400k and their cash position is probably 7-8 million....maybe they can even turn a profit.
I don't know the answer to that question, none of us do. But, Hindsight is 20/20 And I wish I had been paying attention when this was thirty to $0.40 A share.
I like the way they reduce their debt by getting rid of the Channelview site
I live in Houston The price of gas per gallon in one week jumped $0.40
Been a long time.
I think the oil market is getting ready to reverse.
Can anyone give shareholders an idea of what this contract might be worth? I don't remember a press release announcing a contract without some monetary figure included.
Deep Down Receives Mooring Line System Order From Shell
Only ten bucks to go so that I can get out of Deep Down cleanly.
But then, other than you die-hards, who and what would invest in DD when there are so many good companies that are growing and transparent are paying dividends. Real companies.
Good luck to us all.

Goldman was selling in the 4th qtr....I may have bought some of his....80 might be a serious upper limit short term.
