I am holding some Klondike Gold as well but find this interesting too. GLTY
I would have to hazard a guess and say Klondike Star will get more juice from the discovery, However the last I heard they had put the project hold , now that could have changed.
I hold Klondike Gold for this and their other holdings
Now the question is why did this jump 100% and is it all from one sale.
If KDSM is working with Klondike Gold and they do hit the "mother load", which company would you say would provide the better return on your investment?
whoa, KDSM just hit my streamer up 100% to .17
hmmmm who knows what we do not?
Ty for the detailed response and are there threads here for either and how did you find them? What are you buying here meaning now? I would like to get all 3 ty.
KDSM I am going to wait until they announce the summer plans, they are in joint venture with Klondike Gold and may have found the source of the gold for the Kondike gold rush at LONE STAR QUARTZ Claims. The Lone Star claims, including famed Eldorado and Bonanza Creeks, are the nexus of the original Klondike Gold Rush. The Klondike is considered to be the richest placer, or surface gold producing area in world history and home to the greatest gold rush the world has known.
The partner in the venture is a well respected minefinder Hughes exploration under one of his flagship companies Klondike Gold that is where I put my money KDKGF or KG.v (.03)

Klondike Gold Corp.'s Joint Venture Partner Klondike Star Mineral Corp. Greens Lights Indian River Gold ProjectKLONDIKE GOLD CORP KG 8/19/2008 1:05:26 PMVANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Aug 19, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) --
Klondike Gold Corp. (TSX VENTURE: KG) is pleased to announced that the board of directors of joint venture partner Klondike Star Mineral Corp. has recently reported on the determination of probable mineral reserves sufficient to support a mining decision.
The probable mineral reserve identified to date, based on drilling of over 600 holes on 60% of the Indian River property, calibrated by bulk sampling, is in the order of 66,000 crude ounces of gold. Gold was recovered from nearly 100% of the holes in the main target area. The target zone forms a wedge that is 300 meters/984 feet at the beginning and broadens to a width of over 1,500 meters/4,921 feet. To date, the mineralized zone extends over a distance of more than 3 kilometers/1.9 miles) and remains open to expansion to the east and south. Gold is uneven but consistently distributed across this broad area with gold values present across the entire width of the property. The fineness of the gold assayed at over 82%. If mining results are typical of the industry's experience in the Klondike, the extent of mineralization could be higher by as much as 20-30%.
Hans Boge, P.Eng., President of Klondike Star Mineral Corp., says: "At current and projected gold prices, even this relatively modest gold deposit is worthy of development. Furthermore, Klondike Star is already fully permitted to develop and operate the Indian River gold mine."
The Company's development plan is to phase into production starting with large-scale test mining. The approach offers financial, tax, risk management and operational advantages. Stripping of the organic ground-cover and non-gold bearing gravels is currently scheduled to commence late fall/early winter. The mining plan designed specifically for the Indian River ground is scaleable allowing for substantial increases in annual gold production over time.
Among the advantages of the Indian River property are that it can be brought into production quickly. It lends itself to environmentally responsible mining methods already employed successfully in the Klondike that engineers have refined to reduce energy requirements and minimize operating costs. The Company also has camp facilities and some of the required equipment on the project site.
Klondike Star Mineral Corp. is currently in negotiations for required financing of the mine.
Klondike Gold Corp. is entitled to receive a 5% royalty on all gold or other minerals produced from joint venture Indian River placer properties with Klondike Star Minerals Corp.
About the Indian River Gold Project
The Indian River Placer Project is an advanced-stage placer gold exploration property consisting of 223 placer bench claims and 2 leases totaling about 21.1 km2/8.2 mi2 located in a wide, shallow valley about 35 miles from Dawson City, Yukon in the heart of the Klondike gold-producing region. The property has never been mined or subjected to modern recovery methods and as of April 29, 2008, all the operating permits necessary for Indian River mine development and gold production have been received. The goal now is to develop a large-scale placer mine.

Major highlights for the twelve-months ending February 29, 2008 include:
1. Shifting the Indian River gold project (placer) from advanced-stage exploration to the pre-development stage. This included the completion of a major drilling program, bulk sampling, an environmental and socio-economic assessment of the project by the public, governments and regulatory authorities, the issuance of the authorization to develop and operate the mine, and substantial progress on mine planning and analysis for the determination of a mineral reserve and development decision-making.
2. A significant breakthrough on the advanced exploration stage Lone Star gold project (hard-rock) based on consolidated analysis of 2007 exploration results and geological research of the Klondike Region by the University of British Columbia’s Mineral Deposit Research Unit. Updated analysis has identified about 20-25% of the mineralization needed for viable mining and established priority drill targets expected to substantially increase known gold potential. There are now four target zones demonstrating significant gold mineralization and resource potential including Lone Star, Nugget, Buckland, and Pioneer; and a fifth zone, the JF is drill-ready. The comprehensive Lone Star Gold Project Scoping Study for a large tonnage, low-to medium-grade gold mine with a minimum projected life of 10 years is nearing completion for release.
3. Mobilizing a new Canadian subsidiary for global operations and the award of the 1,245 km2/481 mi2 gold and iron ore mineral exploration and exploitation concession from the Arab Republic of Egypt following a competitive, international bidding process.
Additional operational and financial highlights are summarized in the annual 10-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Klondike Star Intersects 1.54 g/t Gold over 15.2m at the Pioneer Zone
SEATTLE, December 18, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) – Donald W. Flinn, P.Eng., Vice-President, Operations Klondike Star Mineral Corporation (OTCBB:KDSM) today released 2007 percussion drilling results on the Pioneer gold zone at the Lone Star project.
A five hole percussion drilling program totaling 455.7m/1495 feet was conducted in August and September, 2007 at the Pioneer zone, which lies about 500m/1640 feet southeast of the Lone Star zone and is thought to be an extension of that mineralized zone. This is the first drilling by Klondike Star that has targeted the Pioneer zone, site of the former Pioneer workings. The zone has previously been explored by shafts and an adit driven circa 1911, by trenching, bulk sampling and sparse drilling by previous operators. Mineralization has been identified within a northerly trending area roughly 600m by 200m (2000 feet by 650 feet), however this area is open in all directions. The intersection of the Pioneer trend and the northwesterly Lone Star trend is thought to be a particularly favourable target, as seen in holes 4 & 5 in the table below.
Flinn said, "The 2007 drilling results are significant as four substantial target zones have now been proven up – Lone Star, Nugget, Buckland, and now Pioneer – demonstrating significant gold mineralization and resource potential; and a fifth zone, the JF, is drill ready for 2008. These findings add to Klondike Star’s confidence in confirming large, medium-grade, bulk-tonnage ore bodies for development."
The Pioneer zone is geologically similar to the Lone Star zone, but is cut by a northerly trending late stage quartz-feldspar porphyry dyke. Determining the distribution of gold and geological controls on mineralization are challenging in this area due to complex geology and poor outcrop exposure. An IP geophysical survey was conducted here in 2006, and the 2007 drill program partially followed up on anomalies generated by this work.
Holes were drilled in a 550m/1800 feet wide northerly fence along the zone near the center of its trend. The two northernmost holes, 4 & 5 tested a subtle chargeability anomaly target identified by the geophysical contractor, within a corridor along the trend of the Lone Star zone. This area is now considered to be a high priority target, as both holes intersected highly anomalous gold values over their entire widths, with narrower intervals of higher grade. Highlights of the drilling in this area include 0.32 g/t gold over 76.2m/250 feet, including 1.54 g/t over 15.24m/50 feet (with a maximum value of 7.4 g/t over 1.5m/5 feet) in hole 07PZ-5. Of note, the last interval in this hole returned 1.48 g/t gold over 1.52m/5 feet, indicating high untested potential at depth.
The highest potential IP chargeability anomalies in the Pioneer – Lone Star East area have not been drilled yet, however, progress has been made in developing access trails into these areas. The collapsed portal to the 1911 Pioneer adit has been excavated to solid rock, and rehabilitation of this adit is being considered. The mine workings were driven to explore a narrow quartz vein bearing visible gold which is exposed near the portal. There are no surviving records of the historical work conducted underground at the Pioneer mine, though the adit is thought to extend at least 150m/500 feet into the hillside.
Lone Star Zone
A detailed, systematic program of geological mapping at the Lone Star zone, along with relogging of drill core has resulted in a greatly improved geological map and set of cross-sections. This geological work has identified subtle marker horizons which allow the modeling and reinterpretation of complex geological structures in the area, which has resulted in the identification of several new very high potential drill targets within the existing resource area.
A series of short drill holes along the newly identified southeasterly edge of the deposit is the highest priority. Areas where the host horizon dips steeply and extends beyond the depth of current drilling have also been identified, providing an excellent target for deep drilling. The deepest holes in the Lone Star zone extend to about 175m/574 feet depth, and the favorable strata are projected to a depth of about 300 m/1000 feet where they are thought to intersect a major thrust fault. This thrust fault may be significant in the localization of gold mineralization. The Lone Star zone is also open along trend in both directions, with the southeasterly trend towards the Pioneer zone the highest priority. The plan for 2008 is to assess the area between the Pioneer and Lone Star zones by further drilling in 2008 building on the substantial progress in geological modeling at Lone Star enabling efficient drilling to increase known resources.
Percussion drill cuttings are collected by the geological staff at the drill, and divided by riffle splitter at the core shack. A representative split is bagged, sealed and shipped via surface freight to the Whitehorse preparatory facility of Eco Tech Analytical Laboratories Ltd. of Kamloops, B.C., an ISO 9001 accredited facility, where the cuttings are dried and crushed. Sample splits are sent to the Kamloops laboratory where they are analyzed for gold by metallic sieve fire assay. The majority of each cuttings sample is stored at the core shack on site for future examination. A sample of each interval of cuttings is logged by the geological staff.
About the Lone Star Project
Lone Star is an advanced exploration stage project that is being studied for mine development. Of all its projects, Klondike Star is currently focusing exploration efforts at the majority-owned Lone Star Project. It is comprised of 1,056 mineral claims and crown grants involving an area of 152 square kilometres (or 58.7 square miles) including the Lone Star Zone, the Nugget Zone, the Buckland Zone, the JF zone, the Pioneer Zone and the 27-Pup-Dysle-Veronika Zone. These zones extend over large areas with excellent opportunity for the existence of multiple mineralized zones, along both strike and dip. They belong to a class of structures which have potential for large, medium-grade, bulk-tonnage ore bodies.
