FINL update (9.44), yep, was strong but had to dip a bit and then recovered nicely. dipped to 7ish.

you might be crazy.
but that's not always a bad thing.
i think the 200ma could give CPTC a fit. but nice volume today and mfi is looking good.
bought back in here on the afternoon dip
prepared to get more on market weakness
but i really do think the 1.50's are coming to cptc ...
but i also think i am crazy so.
i just didn't feel like it was heading back down under a buck again...
MGRM (1.14): weekly
MGRM (1.14): 21/50. had a big candlestick already. indicators are decent.
XSNX and Symmetrical Triangle
http://stockcharts.com/school/doku.php?id=chart_school:chart_analysis:chart_patterns:symmetrical_triangle
The symmetrical triangle, which can also be referred to as a coil, usually forms during a trend as a continuation pattern. The pattern contains at least two lower highs and two higher lows. When these points are connected, the lines converge as they are extended and the symmetrical triangle takes shape. You could also think of it as a contracting wedge, wide at the beginning and narrowing over time.
Money Flow Index (MFI)
Introduction
The Money Flow Index (MFI) is a momentum indicator that is similar to the Relative Strength Index (RSI) in both interpretation and calculation. However, MFI is a more rigid indicator in that it is volume-weighted, and is therefore a good measure of the strength of money flowing in and out of a security. It compares "positive money flow" to "negative money flow" to create an indicator that can be compared to price in order to identify the strength or weakness of a trend. Like the RSI, the MFI is measured on a 0 - 100 scale and is often calculated using a 14 day period.
Formula
The "flow" of money is the product of price and volume and shows the demand for a security and a certain price. The money flow is not the same as the Money Flow Index but rather is a component of calculating it. So when calculating the money flow, we first need to find the average price for a period. Since we are often looking at a 14-day period, we will calculate the typical price for a day and use that to create a 14-day average.
Typical Price = ( (Day High + Day Low + Day Close) / 3)
Money Flow = (Typical Price) x (Volume)
The MFI compares the ratio of "positive" money flow and "negative" money flow. If typical price today is greater than yesterday, it is considered positive money. For a 14-day average, the sum of all positive money for those 14 days is the positive money flow. The MFI is based on the ratio of positive/negative money flow (Money Ratio).
Money Ratio = (Positive Money Flow / Negative Money Flow)
Finally, the MFI can be calculated using this ratio:
Money Flow Index = 100 - (100 / (1 + Money Ratio))
The fewer number of days used to calculate the MFI, the more volatile it will be.
Use
The MFI can be interpreted much like the RSI in that it can signal divergences and overbought/oversold conditions.
Divergences
Positive and negative divergences between the stock and the MFI can be used as buy and sell signals respectively, for they often indicate the imminent reversal of a trend. If the stock price is falling, but positive money flow tends to be greater than negative money flow, then there is more volume associated with daily price rises than with the price drops. This suggests a weak downtrend that threatens to reverse as money flowing into the security is "stronger" than money flowing out of it.
Overbought/Oversold
As with the RSI, the MFI can be used to determine if there is too much or too little volume associated with a security. A stock is considered "overbought" if the MFI indicator reaches 80 and above (a bearish reading). On the other end of the spectrum, a bullish reading of 20 and below suggests a stock is "oversold".
SPAB (.58) back on watch. maybe headed back down to low .40's. but i hope not.

TXCC (.90): trix is coming around nicely and MFI is fairly strong. busted throught the 200ma and then some today on decent volume but not a ton. huge offer on the bid at .88 for 50K shares (is that BS? or not?).

Aradigm's inhaled antibiotic does well in 22-patient test

Aradigm Reports Successful Top-line Phase 2 Data with Inhaled Liposomal Ciprofloxacin for Cystic Fibrosis
Monday June 30, 7:00 am ET
Study demonstrates significant reduction in bacterial infection and improvement in lung function following two weeks of treatment. Once daily dosing regimen may bring added convenience to patients
HAYWARD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aradigm Corporation (OTCBB:ARDM - News) (the “Company”) today announced positive results from an open-label, two week efficacy and safety study of its once daily inhaled liposomal ciprofloxacin in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF). The study conducted at leading CF centers in Australia and New Zealand enrolled a total of 22 patients.
The primary efficacy endpoint in this Phase 2 study was the change from baseline in the sputum Pseudomonas Aeruginosa colony forming units (CFU), an objective measure of the reduction in pulmonary bacterial load. Data analysis in 21 patients who completed the study, demonstrated that the Pseudomonas CFU decreased by a mean 1.43 log over the 14-day treatment period (p<0.0001). Evaluation one week after study treatment was discontinued showed that the Pseudomonas bacterial density in the lung was still reduced by 1.02 log CFU from the baseline without additional antibiotic use. Pulmonary function testing as measured by the forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) showed a significant mean increase of 6.86 % from baseline after 14 days of treatment (p=0.04). The study drug was well tolerated, and there were no serious adverse events reported during the trial.
“Reduction of the burden of treatment with more conveniently administered products would be most welcomed by the cystic fibrosis community. It was therefore important in this study that, in addition to the successful clinical efficacy and safety outcomes, the patients found the once daily dosing regimen very convenient. This is a very attractive feature of the new product candidate,” said Dr. John Wilson of The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne, Australia, a CF physician and the lead investigator on the study.
“We are excited with the magnitude of the efficacy response seen in this proof-of-concept study,” said Tunde Otulana, M.D., Aradigm’s Chief Medical Officer. “The size of the reduction in bacterial density and the improvement in FEV1 represent clinically meaningful changes in these CF patients. Our results compare well with data with other inhaled antibiotics following 14-day treatment in similar subpopulations of CF patients where more frequent dosing was required.”
“We are very pleased with these Phase 2 data. The trial results will enable Aradigm to advance the development of our liposomal ciprofloxacin product for cystic fibrosis in the U.S., as well as pursue our strategy for other disease indications including bronchiectasis, and other geographical locations,” said Igor Gonda, Ph.D., the Company’s President and CEO.
Ciprofloxacin is a widely prescribed antibiotic to treat infections of the lung frequently experienced by cystic fibrosis patients. It is often preferred because of its broad-spectrum anti-bacterial action. The available oral and intravenous formulations of the drug are used to treat episodes of acute exacerbations of lung infections in CF. Aradigm’s once a day novel inhaled formulation of ciprofloxacin delivered in liposomes is to be used for chronic maintenance therapy as it is expected to achieve higher antibiotic concentration at the site of infection and relatively low systemic antibiotic concentrations to minimize side-effects.
Aradigm will provide more details on the data from this Phase 2 study in a business update conference call scheduled for July 16, 2008. Further information regarding the call will be announced soon.

CNTY (3.31) update #1: the 5/20 cross hasn't been that great to me since watching it. watching for bottoms seems to be better right now. major it's just the market sentiment in general. requiring adaptability.
CNTY seems to be landing on its bottom.
ENTU update #2: had that last candlestick in it to get to the 3.40's and then major sell off. Fringe was right in the end.

CPTC (1.25) update #2: actually pulled back further than i had expected. laura nailed it perfectly though. but it has shot back up to the low end of my original target of 1.25-1.35. would've put money in at 1.08 and then more in around .99 and would've easily made my target %. mission accomplished (on paper).
PRC update #1: hehe, yeah it broke to new hi's. up to 3.50, up more than 50% from my posting.

PRXI (4.70): rounding out a nice bottom with volume flag coming on friday.

hey, you're right. longer term view looks like this is shaping up nicely for a return to some previous highs. have you done any other DD on it, besides the charts?
here's a renko i just made for it. just starting to learn renko's but it looks like some buy signals went off today or with this latest brick more accurately.
PRC...Another look at it. Notice the accumulation on it.:) Put longer-term fibs on chart.
sounds good lexi. good luck with it and i hope your husband gets better.
best wishes,

thanks laura. i need to read up on slope. i've never used it. and how did you get the macd to be 5,26? and not 5,26,9?
how's this one look for renko's? seem to be some buy signals today but not all the indicators, like CCI, are giving the signal.

yeah people call that the golden cross. i don't put much "stock" in that though. by definition, it generally comes after a large move. it's still indicative of a bullish trend though. i like a lot of the other indicators though. they show the stock is strong but not too overbought yet. the macd's look good, and the quick trix is showing another leg coming. the issue is that it's up against resistance at 2.30, so either it breaks it and runs a bit, or it doesn't break it and the next support is around 2.10 and then 2-ish.
thanks for commenting. stop by anytime.
what kind of professor are you? I was a special ed teacher in the bronx for a few years. took the year off to go on my honeymoon and just got back. gonna trade but if it doesn't work, probably get back into education.

indicators are strong in renko
cici, full sto, slope
trix3 and mac5 i find to be earliest for buy
disregard that pink circle far left
PRC...I like the way the 50 MA looks poised to cross up the 200 MA. I'm in since 2.16.
Lexi
PRC (2.30): up against resistance but indicators are reset and might be poised to break through and head to new highs.
BBX (1.76): looks to be steadying at a bottom. all indicators improving.
ok, many. thanks. great example! i don't know what the term would be for 'overbought' on MFI. i'm just learning MFI now, so it's going to take some getting used to. i'm gonna check out the equation for how they calculate MFI. thanks many!
fwiw I don't believe in 'overbought' MFI as a sell indicator ... can never have enough money flow lol
Look at IDAE here for example ... MFI has been in 'overbought' territory ever since it broke a buck lol
in fact look at any big sustained run chart .. MFI can hang out above 80 for months as the stock rises ...
TGC another pretty good example ... if you sold 'overbought' MFI conditions in that one you would have sold just days before the run started ;)
laura, that's exactly what i needed to hear. thank you. lots of plays out there is right.....i just gotta go with my reads and my instincts. thanks again laura
i was a buyer mid april
chart looked a lot different
this is what i call a solid citizen
it hangs out and ticks up ...
doesn't make a lot of noise and keeps its room clean ...lol
i do think it will continue to move up to the sixties over time. i do not expect anything to radical, look at the chart.
lots of plays out there, j.k. lots of them.
lol, of course not that would be too lucky for me.....actually, i play very few of the stocks that i do post about. i'm still in learning and testing mode. been learning for only a few years (and trading) and ready to try this full time. but with a new wife and other family considerations, i need to make sure i can do this.....so safety first! lol. i use this board to practice and keep track of my thoughts. feel free to post anything and use as a note pad if you'd like.
ya know, i'm looking at HENC because i like it's combination of fundamentals and its chart. but its chart is confusing me. there are several things i like about it, like the TRIX; the ma's look good; the adx's and aroons all signal good longer term trends. but the quicker rsi's and the mfi's are very overbought as are the stochastics. in fact, rsi(2) started moving towards oversold today. to me, it looks like it's going to sell off soon, but when i watch on L2, the trading is still bullish. and if it does sell-off, the mid .30's seems possible.
GLTA, "Ya Gotta Believe"......in Yourself......and Jose Reyes and David Wright of course.......Time for redemption Jose and now you got Johan to back you up....

ASPM (6.74): 21/50 cross. rsi's are powering up but the quick ones may need a day to breathe. broke resistance with room all the way up to $9-10-11
FMD update #2: made it up to 4.65 with a close at 4.50ish. great read. about a 33% move.

ASFI (9.68) update #1: turns out it was a good read. up 2 bucks in 2 weeks. perhaps a climb up to 14 bucks is coming.

CPTC(1.09) update #1: pulled back to exactly where i wanted. hourly looks ready for next leg. up to 1.25ish?

ENTU update: didn't pull back far, but did consolidate for a few days. and now next candlestick came today. continuing to march north

SYBD (.89): running into resistance at .90.
short term rsi's are overbought but the longer-term rsi's still have plenty of room. the macd's are crossing over but weakening in strength. stoch's look fine.
perhaps waiting for a break of .90 with volume?
CPTC (1.15): seems to be in a sideways channel and for a little ceiling around 1.25-1.45. if it stays in its rhythm, there will be profit taking the next day or two or so and then back up towards that 1.25-1.45 area, if not breaking that resistance and heading higher.
hourly looks ready to dip. hourly chart below the daily. scroll down for it.
This board is intended for me and others to post their charts and picks. Bottom-busters and runners are preferred. When I say runners, I mean runners. I don't mean one or two day rallies, I mean, running.* Also, I'll be looking at moving averages crossing over, especially the 21ema crossing the 50dma. Many of the charts will be posted just so I can watch how they develop. This is just as much a record of one's I trade as to see certain ones develop.
