This ETF, like the whole market, will sink into the molten center of the earth. Time will bear this out. Let's watch.
Real earnings and real growth means it's not a bubble.
Looking to start a position here. Biotech still has plenty of growth ahead
Wonder if the lattest ETF on biotechs (BBP) is affecting the price of IBB
I just got back in
I am buying also. I haven't given up. Hoping Gild comes through also. I lost my butt last earnings. oping we close strong before the close today and earnings 5 minutes later. GLA.
bundyelvis: I took my profits this week
No. Bubbles exist when nothing exists. The leaders and even small cap companies are coming up with evolutionary drugs on a monthly basis. It's simply a cycle of money moving into commodities combined with profit taking, some less than stellar earnings and guidance, and technically needing a retrace. This could potentially be the last of it today sitting at lows of last month especially if GILD comes through. If GILD disappoints then we retrace back to 295-300. This is nothing more than an opportunity to buy into a revolutionary sector that won't slow anytime soon. What bubbles have we had? Tech - fake companies and products that were shells or housing - inflated prices and forced bad loans? Bubbles exist through manipulation. We do not have that scenario here. If you can't see through the BS your not thinking clearly. Last March we swung down 20%... Was that a bubble popping? No of course not. BIO is a more volatile sector so the swings are greater but the sector is healthy and strong. I'd be buying this downturn in segments of you have cash. Bought at 344.50 and 338.20 so far.
I think it just pop.
Ibb. Nice rebound in the making today ahead of Bio-tec earnings.
they're talking about a biotech bubble - I don't see it. It's a great vechicle
depends the time frame... broke under and it 305.01 the next day for some nice $$$ on puts ~
jimmy: It's more than holding, It's $344 today
BIOTECHS SHOW BROAD STRENGTH ... Relative strength in biotechs was a theme throughout 2014 and this theme continues into 2015. Chart 6 shows the Biotech iShares (IBB) breaking triangle resistance at the beginning of January and advancing to new highs the last two weeks. Broken resistance marks first support in the 308 area and the November-December lows mark key support in the 285-295 area. The indicator window shows the price relative (IBB:SPY ratio) in an uptrend and hitting a new high again this month.
IBB D
Chart 7 shows the Biotech SPDR (XBI) breaking out to new highs in early January, consolidating with a bull flag and breaking out today. When looking at these two charts, notice the difference in the holdings. IBB is dominated by the big biotechs with the top ten stocks accounting for 56.1% of the ETF. XBI, on the other hand, has over 80 biotech stocks and the top ten account for around 16%. XBI is much broader and the new high in this ETF reflects broad strength in the industry group.
XBI D 80 STOCKS
178 BIO STOCKS WITH NO EPS
NOT LISTED
What I am looking for is PHASE 3 JUMPS.
Welcome any help on up coming PHASE 3 completions
of small BIO companies.
Best example is RCPT
