Deann.
New pictures!
this is the front of the house, they are getting ready to poor the 2nd floor walls. The garage is stick, no reason to have that in concrete, IMHO!
This is the back of the house, not completely block finished but you have an idea!
the windows in the middle that are 3 together are in the greatroom and are spoused to be 4'x6' they are 3'6"x4'. Someone was asleep at the wheel! They will be cut out tomorrow!!!
Ok, I know I promised pictures but I want to wait and post them tomorrow, as a finished 2nd floor project.
Yes they showed up today and got soe things done!
It was sunny and 70 something, all I know is tomorrow I am wearing shorts!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope to get a good day here, sunny and to be 72.
Thanx for all the prayers!
If you were walking barefoot while applying sealer on a deck it's no wonder you were imitating Micheal J.
LOL
Have fun,
Phil

Was startin to imitate Micheal J!
Must have been warm there.

Phil

Ain't that the truth.

Phil
Bad shiiiiit always comes back to haunt ya!
the wall system guy had no work and wanted to start our job,
There is sometimes a good reason contractors need work.
They have run out of customers that will put up with their BS.
Hope you don't end up with too full of a bucket of it.
Phil
That's the thing, we were not in a hurry, the wall system guy had no work and wanted to start our job, so I busted my kiester (?) for him to get the project started!
Blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I will definately look into that!!!
Thanx

Trisha,
Congrats on your tool purchases.
Those Bosch Bulldog hammer drills rule.
They make normal hammer drills seem like toys.
I have a story about a 24 oz. Estwing framing hammer I'll share one of these days.

I always get a deposit but I never want or expect full payment until the job is finished to the customers satisfaction.
When you try to cut corners - all you do is cut corners!
I tell people all the time that it doesn't take as much time to do a job right the first time as it does to do it again to get it right.
But do they listen?
NNNOOOO.
It always, Hurry, Hurry, Hurry.
LOL
Have fun,
Phil
Trisha,
You should make sure your ventilation contractor puts one of these in your home.
Air exchangers are connected to a home duct system as well as to the outdoors to provide a constant, controlled supply of fresh air to the home. It has been a concern of builders and the Environmental Protection Agency (www.epa.gov/iaq) that indoor air quality is often unhealthy to breath due to construction materials, household chemicals, paints, plastics, carpeting, radon, personal cosmetics, etc.. Additionally, modern home constructions are air-tight to the extent that moisture becomes trapped inside creating problems with mold growing behind walls and contaminating the structure. On the other hand, outdoor air is usually very clean and oxygen rich, thereby ideal to circulate into the home. Air exchangers bring the correct amount of fresh air into the home and expel stale air out of the home continuously while maintaining temperature and moisture balance.
I hope I get to post some pix of them at work!!!
Ok, I need some prayers here, please!!!
Sweet!
There is a trade show in Hot Springs today and tomorrow, so I am off for the shower and the show!

I hope you post some picks of the concrete saw at work. Cool!
Tools? Now that is enough to make me smile!
Hit the Home Depot yesterday and picked up a Bosch Bulldog hammer drill, a 16oz Estwing hammer and a few other things!
Now we just have to get the concrete guys to finish so we can get on a roll. Never knew so many excuses could be made by one crew!
Never, Never, NEVER, NEVERrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr PRE-PAY!
When you try to cut corners - all you do is cut corners!
hi trisha and good morning to the forum. sound like you are having fun doing the right thing.
Trisha,
Go girl.
I love it.
I don't know if you have seen my posts on the IHIP board but I must have twenty thousand dollars worth of tools and I love using them.
I even bought a new one yesterday.
An auto darkening welding helmet.
Not a tool that a homebuilder would use, but still a tool.
I love tools.
LOL
Have fun,
Phil

More tomorrow and some pics! Night!
hi trisha ,
rain? more is coming in from the pacific. we are supposed to get 1 to 2 inches between this coming thursday and friday.
nice to see you getting the home movement. i mean getting the building stuff in place.
are the two tham getting any work done for you?
Well, today was a rainout!
Took my son and brother to Hot Springs and showed the around abit, hit a AWSOME mexican restraunt La Hacenda! They had two margaritas and were on the babe watch. Hard when hubby is 700 miles away to far to deal with these two goof balls.
Tomorrow the rain is to end and we will see what happens!
hi trisha and good afternoon to the forum. i finally got here. i saw you on the home page and decided to do a click to.
nice pix for the new home.
weather pretty nice here today.
Sounds like a plan. ;)
NO, behind, but there was weather and family problems. Hope they will be done this week with the walls, but there was a major mess up with the Great Room windows! They have to bring the saws in and cut it out right, the gr windows are the effect of that room!
This next week will be interesting.
Today rained out, and tomorrow have to have a pow-wow with the truss people, the building inspector (framing insptr). Some mistakes have to be fixed.
Will keep you posted on this!
I will give you a personel tour!
Looks good. Is the Contractor on schedule?
Hey Trisha...it's really coming along nicely ....what a change from the last pics I saw.
It looks huge! I can't wait to see the finished product. ;)
I'm here and here are some pics!
If I can say the biggest mistake I made was not being here all the time. When a contractor explains something to you, see it!
We set 2nd floor roof trusses today! What a CF!
But we will make it work out...
check it out
you have a front and back view. will post more later.
Morning tf!
Yes the rain has stopped and am trying to get some more pix out of the guys.
They have the stem walls up for the 1st flr MS and will pour the slab for the basement next week. They are still looking at completion in 3 to 4 weeks and I am going down the 28th for all the finish work and then will be able to send some pix on a more regular basis!
Looks like clear skies all next week!!!
Finally hubby is getting excited about the project!
Trisha,
Has the rain stopped yet?
Ok, get the Ark out!
If the rain keeps up, guess will have the pool in the basement I always wanted!
The beginning of October the Village was 5 inches short on rain, at the end 10 inches over! Now OMGosh!
All things in there time!
Sorry no new pictures latley but IT HAS BEEN RAINING!
They are spoused to do a pour today and the weather looks like it will cooperate!
Have a membership with Direct Buy, and gosh can you save some money! We can afford the nicer stuff for the house with the discounts we get as members, if ya ever get the chance to join one do it!
I try to mention the deals and companies that I would work with again, and Hardmans Lumber from Arkadelphia is the best. About 45 minutes from the Village but have they treated me (a first time contractor) like gold. Call and ask for Wendell or Mark they are wonderful! Seems like the farther I get from the Village the less I get gouged, not all Northerns are rollin in the dough! So we have to stomp around for deals!
Will try and get another pix up today, but will be going down next week.
KLee builders called me this morning, we hit shail rock at the bottom of the foundation and in the plans we are tiering down 6" then 12" for the Media room floor. Water problem, so even after the french drains can't do what wanted in the beginning, now we will try to do one level tier at 8" and we will build the other pier out of wood. Think it will work?
Will try to put the basement print on the board so you can get in my head (no jumping, shooting or throughing things please) and know where I am going with this!
Have fun!
Thanx, and I'm trying!
Have a great day....please! : )))
Yes, looks great!
Great pics Trisha.
I see you have figured it out.
Have fun,
Phil
tf, works good in the winter also, kind of like low e glass!
did ya see we are movin right along? : ))))
sorry basement, ok last one. gosh does that look like 45 x 30 ft?
baseent has hole lowered for media room...cool
