RE: Anybody still here? They keep rolling along.
Hello Windbag1014. I've been invested here for a couple of years. Small change compared to my Arcam holdings. How did you fare with that?
I've made several small additions and all has been good. Another member suggested PYRNF for examination.
At the time, I thought that ADSK and MTLS were the best options. I bought into all. Since then MTLS and ADSK have been much better. I'll have to work up a comparison then maybe post the results.
All the right stuff.. 2 years ago $6 . AM is just warming up.

Anybody still here? They keep rolling along.
Huge convergence taking place here the 15/50/200 DMA . Time to levitate!
My most favorable comment regarding SGLB is that it led me to MTLS.
I don't understand your comments regarding sglb. Are you saying that MTLS should acquire them"
I am only somewhat familiar with SGLB. They are the only other 3D Software pure play that I am aware of. I have held off putting any money into SGLB. Seemed like most of their activity was around government sponsored stuff...I could be wrong but this is my recollection last time I looked.
What are the boards (all three of us) thoughts regarding SGLB?
ps. Given that earnings are this Thursday, anybody want to guess as to the direction of the stock. I am going to say that it will go up 10% ... largely because of what management will say about the acquisition .. and because they will beat expectations.
Lets get this board going. I think this is a really really interesting company with huge upside.
Good luck to all..
What MTLS has. The ability to sell there product. There are companies that do what everyone is talking about and companies that talk about what everyone else is doing.IMO
I was first in. And hoped sglb would make a perfect partner moving up. I know most of you also are interested in sglb. What does it take, to move back on top, sglb-wise?
I can tell you how they do.
Quote: 5) Acquisition looks great to me. Seems like tons of synergy. Financing the purchase at an interest rate of 1%.
These guys can sell themselves and everything they produce. Synergy!
There is an agenda here and it isn't planning theyre next vacation.
The only ones that impressed me equally were autodesk. I believe the other company you were thinking of was dessault and they are good but not as impressive in person. IMO this company has a huge future. Wish I had bought more at $6
Hi Steve. I was concerned you might be getting lonely or you might start thinking you were crazy. How can there be stock like MTLS and nobody is following it? Is MTLS real?
I digress.
I have owned this stock for about a year now. I think it is a fantastic play on industrial 3D printing. I will give you my thoughts. Be interested to hear what you think (or anybody else out there)
1) MTLS has has been a significant player in this space for a long time. They are in fact a major player with broad reach. This gives them lots of advantages over upstarts. I think they were an early partner with HP.
2) MTLS is technology agnostic. They can pick whatever platform they want (Arcam, SLM, etc.) and develop software solutions for those platforms.
3) The software revenue is going to be reoccurring. We all know that software can be hugely profitable. I make a comparison to the computer and computer software industries. Which sector made the most money? It is about the software! I think that could happen in the 3D printer space.
4) They are a manufacturer, so they get to test first hand the software they are developing.
5) I can't of only one other company that is in the space that MTLS is in ... software to enable the industrialization of 3D. There is a French company that does something similiar. Starts with a "D" but i forget the name.
5) Acquisition looks great to me. Seems like tons of synergy. Financing the purchase at an interest rate of 1%. How did they do that?
I know that any investment is risky. But for the life of me I can't think of any that jump out...other than maybe the market might view it as over priced in the short term.
Good luck to both of us with the earnings call.

GLTA!
Between 12 to 25 and that is excluding some irrational price spike
What is your guess, stock one year from now?
No drama just good business. To me MTLS appears to have all the right stuff to establish itself as part of the foundation of the AM sector. This could continue for years to come. Will add more on the next pullback. This was one of my 3 favorites after attending Rapid 2016 beside ADSK and HPQ.
Why are there hardly any posters on this board? Even after rising. There is no interest???
Sure does!
It goes up...
It will go up...
No, I'm not.
I am a semi functional sleepwalker/poster though.

If you think where computers were forty years ago so it is with AM today in my opinion. We dream of one in every home and in thirty years were going to need one for the car as well.
Being an early adopter investor In any potential leading technology can be very rewarding. I've planted seeds all over the sector as well.
I agree. We are on the cusp of acceptance. The tentacles of 3D tech spread widely through many sectors.
GL!
We are on the cusp of something huge and I'm grabbing hold of it in every possible way I can. AM is the future of creation in my opinion in more ways than most can even imagine. From resins to metals to bios and beyond Materialise is here to help them put it together.
