Wow! I went overseas in a super connie, hit turbulence, dropped several feet far enough and fast enough that coffee hit the ceiling flying out of cups.

only wings I've seen flapping more are a Super Connie. Swear it looks like they flap 2-3 feet in turbulence. Combine seeing the flapping wings 2/3rds the way across the Atlantic, with one engine already out, diverting to and trying to make it to the Azores. That was my most unnerving flying experience. We made it and heard no complaints while spending almost 2 days there waiting for an engine to arrive and continuing on to Morocco.

Hi Xan,

My first airplane ride in the Air Force was in a C47 in a Texas dust storm by San Angelo. A B-29 was above us by quite a distance and still inside the storm. I was never so glad to see those wings of that C47 flapping and staying on.

Briefly, JF and Pat knew each other from military service. When GMFX needed a CA distribution site JF talked Pat into co-use of Pat's CA business. Of course Pat was no doubt compensated from GMFX.

Tornado's aren't around just this year. In 1956, give or take a year, I recall flying into Dallas in a R3D which was the Navy designator for a C47. I was a member of the NAAS Monterey,CA bowling team. In addition to being able to bowl in the National ABC Tournament, the Captain of the facility, Capt. Jett (appropriate name for a Naval Aviator though we were mostly a prop Navy at that time), had arranged for the flight, and for a V.I.P. like guided factory tour of Chance-Vought. He had previously served as the Navy Bureau of Aeronautics Rep. at Chance-Vought. Also recall having a delicious steak at Cattleman's Steak House in Fort Worth with supposedly a portrait of the prized steer we were feasting on at the entrance. Texan's can tell some tall stories.

Well, when approaching Dallas and after being warned of tornado activity, our pilot visually descended through breaks in the clouds pretty far out believing he could have a better chance of seeing any funnels. We observed at least 3 while seemingly treetop level zig jagging around, like a fighter doing low level flight maneuverer's (but in a Gooney Bird), before safely landing.

Xan...LOL the weather this winter/spring has been crazy in Texas.
First snow and freezing rain for the Superbowl and now crazy tornadoes. I'm guessing you at least have a basement to hide out in, last night we where standing in our inside hallway (safest spot as it is dead center between all rooms) at our house. Not exactly as comforting as when I lived in Kansas and could grab the scotch and hide out in the basement.

Totally agree Wick, if JF was honest he probably could have made more than scamming like he did.

Oh well. Good lesson learned for me on this one. My portfolio took a hit but nothing I didn't get back from better investing going forward.

yes frankie, the education was priceless unless, as with me, you were stupid enough in your belief in the merits of the company, it's potential, that you basically went all in with POS JF, and didn't have a nest egg to tap into to recover, or at least decently play other issues.

Don't take it wrong, the thousands of mine that JF stole, was my play money, not my food or housing budget, but I enjoyed playing. My all in was the culprit and has certainly deflated my retirement passtime pleasures.

ff, It still amazes me that the "ghosts" still hang around this board... I try to keep up to date what has transpired, but it is going to be more difficult as time goes by.... so far it appears that JF has pocketed the money from the sale of the video library... along with the RV, truck and the money from the restaurant.. about the only thing we can do is file a complaint not with the SEC, but the IRS against Anne Morrison.... and JF'S children... that might get something done... JMHO
