No Ike keep the article but make sure it conveys your true points. If all that is wrong is the misuse of ironically in a reference to human loss and small should've been large then please do keep your opinion composition for all to read.
This is not about where it should be ... it should be anywhere you wish to put it.
:=) Gary Swancey
Ike I do not drink and though sometimes a small choice of words can invoke conflict. My whole focus was on that statement. Because you did not see it immediately thus I considered that it was not a mistake. Thus I went from there.
On the internet a focus can drift into a mountain and the original item is lost in the rhetoric. But sometimes you can;t get to a point without going completely around it.
We have no problem now because not one innocent life is worth any change in humanity though we both know their will always be innocent blood shed ...
:=) Gary Swancey
LA Man.. lets move on after this disaster we need each other the last thing is to think of past, we all need to be together in tougher times ahead but trying one and important one to undestand, the ramifications for us and global markets alongwith hopes of better day should see this thing through..
Iqbal Latif
I have removed that article from hub, I think that is not good for here, it should be for places it is intended to be, I would try to remove that line where it is not published.
Iqbal Latif
Bard. I think we have to work together, our knowledge and your strength, I will be writing a lot on this I want my input to the highest possible levels, the roots have to be taken out how, I will detail it.. slow and steady and I will make US the little I can do a safe place for my innocent nephew Issac and millions of others such innocents, my heart goes out to US.. but the US tells me, I am strong.. ''Don't cry for me, I will come out strnger.. '' I am happy we resolved it, I would have been very very miserable, I hate this to be unable to win friends.. I did it with you, the kids around me think I am crazy to write you so many times that I love you.. Bard I am going out for drink ..join me I am happy that we both resolved it amicably.ggg
Iqbal Latif
I do understand ...
:=) Gary Swancey
Ike I agree ... I have made some stupid mistakes in my posting leaving out a NOT or something and I have to reread it and make corrections and of course apologize for the carelessness.
I like IHUB because when that happens I can easily rewrite the post and post it thus having the other removed for a duplicate.
MAtt was extremely smart in setting this up the way he has. We are together and I belive we both realize terrorism should be taken out surgically and not at any cost.
:=) Gary Swancey
I assure you that it not quite understood, the ramifications of that sentence, I am sure you will now understand that. I will correct that now, rather take out the snetence .. straight away on the thread. I don't want you to feel bad for what I consider already very trying circumstances for you.
Iqbal Latif
Ike that is correct and I do not take it back either. It shows I do not want you censored and I respected your comments but then came the statement of "ironically maybe too small a cost" if you cannot see why that would anger someone then you are not what you present yourself to be.
:=) Gary Swancey
I assure you that I love you AND any mistake was due to my effrots to get into training process of the minds in my own part of the world, it was not at all intended to hurt you, my deepest apologies, I love you and I will like you to love me. I want you to know that we are together in this. Please try to see that who is reading it, in SA, KWI all over, I never wanted it to be
posted here. For that imagine what a risk I take.

<#550 Excellent post Ike and that is a post Georgia Bard 9/12/2001 10:19:40 AM > I have edited this PS..
Georgia bard pays tribute to Ike..Iqbal Latif
Thank you ... Thank you very much because that is exactly what I believe from the deepest part of my being as a human. I have not read that it was an error maybe I missed it in the all the rhetoric ... If I did then I offer my truest apologies.
This is not about the color of skin, this is a senstive time for everyone. I thought the article was thought provoking until I hit that sentence. It caused me to become ill thus it did provoke thought.
As I thought about those that were faced with a decision to burn or jump my heart aches. I cannot imagine which I would have done nor should anyone have to make that decision. I cannot relate to sitting in my home and a bomb go off next to it. I had a brother in the Gulf at the time of Kuwait also.
We are not enemies nor foes ...
:=) Gary Swancey
It's really no sense to hurt your blood pressure over these arguments, each person's got his own idea and thinking deeply inplanted, you talk to an Isralie person, he's got his argument, you talk to an Arab, he's got another set of argument, both sounded ok. That's why initially Bush wanted to stay out of middle east mess.
I hope cool head prevailed in decision making, it's very easy to say bomb, bomb, bomb, but, there are many other issues await after the feel good bombing.
Not even a single life...a single life is even a very big price ..
< find it amusing that someone that is as well written as yourself and articulate does not see what I am upset about. Your blood boils Bard, but I will raise US flag with equal pride and dignity. I assure you that. I am not leaving here, until you accept that I am man of integrity. When you were pasting the links I knew what is coming I nevcr changed, people are well aware of my habit that I paste and than make a commentary that is not dead wood. I am no dead wood and I assure you that if you are offended I ahve made my submission atleast ten times that it was an inadvertent error.
Iqbal Latif
You obviously have little or no idea of who OJ is.
I doubt that Ike would abandon this thread so not to
worry.
I do not know you ... getting to know you though and not just your financial articles. I am getting to know you.

Iqbal Latif
Ike don;t leave face me not as an American or whatever ... explain the reference ... If you go to SI I will follow. I was one of the first on SI as Ga Bard.

It was written for ME papers, my son Zack posted it here, I have little knowledge of the word 'ironic' but I wanted the case of US to be taken to hornets nest of the Islamic regions, I do use it very often but here it was construed that I am belittling 'the mother of all sacrifices that humanity has ever seen.' This sacrifice of thousands of befallen Americans will free a large portion of humanity from yoke of terrorism and efforts to take us to middle ages. We with heads bowed raise our hands to salute the befallen innocent Americans, well aware that this is a sacrifice that will free 5 billion people pangs of draconian extremism.
This article was meant to address the blind-folded who were cheering in the streets.. Ike in the hornets nest...

All extremists are alike, they hate fresh thinking, on both side of the isle deep demons sit on high pulpits and accuse the people to be torn off, as a kid as a victim in my own country and as an adult as a victim in Kuwait
BULL ... I have an always will be an advocate for critical thinking. Written many compositions myself. I hate brain washed sheep. But this has NOTHING to do with your statement. What cost in human life would be sufficient for you to consider a fair price for a change in humanity?
It was most unfortunate that I had to listen it from you because you sit on high pulpit awarding sentences to everyone under you. Censor ship of thought is what I see in your attacks on me.
Censor you ... NO WAY. No I goated you off the copying and pasting others comments from news releases and articles made by others because I wanted your own opinion and I got it. Now... What cost in human life would be sufficient for you to consider a fair price for a change in humanity?
Hated by you and them becasue I stand for soemthing. I condemn them and ridicule them 100's of SI posts are witness of all that, you without knowing me are attacking me with kid of merciless accusations, the things that I have fought against all my life will not be accpeted by me.
I do not hate you I think you are not what I thought you were. Also I could careless about your personal life answer the question What cost in human life would be sufficient for you to consider a fair price for a change in humanity?
my one wrong usage ‘irony’ that was a fault of my poor English makes you mad but you have no respect for others feelings. We represent humanity too and we while make sure that blind propaganda to start this war as war of civilization may be truly understood,
I respect everyone's feelings and I am an advocate for the underdogs. I hate seeing anyone be harmed by another or good with good intentions get nailed. "No good deed goes unpunished" Everytime I see a person killed anywhere in the world I am appauled. It sickens me to see that terrorist are allowed to run amuck without the very religion and states that hide them doing nothing to stop it.
I find it amusing that someone that is as well written as yourself and articulate does not see what I am upset about. BTW I am not a bigot and I am not anything more than I represent. Nor do I hold you remotely responsible for terrorism. I think you sypathize but I am entitled as you are to the loos of human life as a mere price to be paid for terroristic acts to change humanity.

IQ: Excuse me if I read it wrong, somehow I thought some post here did got removed...excuse me if I was wrong.
OJ sold his soul, he worked with that Jena lady, OJ trades second to second tick to tick, he's no compare to IQ.
<topic owner has the power to police the thread>
I take pride in this LA man that I have maintained this thread as un-policed, the small free thinking man I am I hate 'censorship' threat, from childhood I suffered abuse, on streets my father was ridiculed we were the only minority in our small little town that believed in 'continuity of guidance from God.' I grew up resisting any effort to stop free thoguht, censorship is something I cannot stand, I look back at my thread today and take great pride that I censored nothing, I would never censor anything, I have not, I respect every view but here we are to discuss the repucussions, I am window to that little known unknown, and I will be in the front line to help US to the little I can. I just love that country and will not be intimidated. My friend 'truthseeker' told me I should look at my way of interaction, may be it is time to say goodbye, I am not understood and I create too many new thoughts, I laways thought that we small people get together to discuss things openly, but every time someone does not like my one particular thing, on one posts that is liked I am praised on something that is not according to mode is hated, this is highhanded censorship of reverse kind, but to the sledge kind of posting I have facts and lot of scars on my body to show what torture is all about. Censor ship no, freedom yes, democracy yes and long live America.
Iqbal Latif
Ike that is fantastic news from all your 'admirers'
No question about it we can really use the expertise/direction

<Why not he is praising the results. Glory to the terrorist that will change humanity.>
Stop this blatant attempt to misrepresent me. I hope that terrorist may be apprehended and dealt with ASAP. Humanity I said is poorer and orphan, the result is horrendous. The change is for worst and I told the Islamists that these very people would target you next. Cairo I used as an example. You missed all that and worked on my poor composition in relation to that comparison. I meant that 5 billion people would now pay the price of this, every brown skin over 1 billion will be suspected that was my point. The word may have been completely wrong and I have repeatedly asked for omission. For me and billons like me world will become a difficult hard place and even an extremely dangerous place. All extremists are alike, they hate fresh thinking, on both side of the isle deep demons sit on high pulpits and accuse the people to be torn off, as a kid as a victim in my own country and as an adult as a victim in Kuwait I have seen the wretchedness of this extremist attitude, ‘my blood boils’ was the cry of the one we called butcher of Kuwait, Majid Kamal the Guv of occupied Kuwait, he would sentence people to die by saying my blood boils. . It was most unfortunate that I had to listen it from you because you sit on high pulpit awarding sentences to everyone under you. Censor ship of thought is what I see in your attacks on me.
<Yes I remember it well. But these Islam nations will defend the terrorist to the death in a Holy War but want to kill an author.
.>
We know Rushdie family in Karachi; we had even eaten with his Uncle and Aunt at DeKhan’s, so don’t tell me that we as individual were bystanders we were not, we are in the hornets nest and fighting a war that will one day take our life but we are happy to give it, this self righteous streak and activity to take humanity to medievalist milieus needs to be stopped, I am proud to be in the fore front of that. I opposed the author condemnation in the Islamic world under an article 'The children of the lesser God.' Published in nearly six newspapers. Voltaire’s books were burned and woman were burn as witches and until 1945, 6 million innocent people were sent to burn to death, all nations have a learning curve, Germans given a chance came out as biggest allies, US could have made them their biggest enemy. The treaty of Versailles that charged them with reparations brought the 2nd World war, the Marshall plan brought the prosperity and stoppage of hundreds of years of war, what I want is that once this hidden enemy is exposed and dealt with we should not leave poverty pockets that may bring these kind of devastation on mankind. My sisters are married to a Jew and a Christian and my nephews are US citizens, for me the future of these kids need not to be darkened by creation of new enemies. I am a truly global citizen and have several times openly written that US model is the model that is the true hope for mankind. I even don't short the market for that sake. As a small thinker I think that unresolved issues need to solve, my nephews should not be a cannon fodder in war of civilization, majority of US would agree with me on that. I do my best to denounce the terrorists in media that belongs to that region and do it under my name. therefore equally hated by these very same characters. Hated by you and them becasue I stand for soemthing. I condemn them and ridicule them 100's of SI posts are witness of all that, you without knowing me are attacking me with kid of merciless accusations, the things that I have fought against all my life will not be accpeted by me.
<have been reading his posts since he made that post and you would NOT want me to elaborate on my opinion of the crock I have read. I understand the term fork tongue and propaganda.>
You may be a veteran my father was retired Col from British Land Forces and served with distinction in Burma, Singapore front in the 2nd World War, we fought that war on eastern front, one of my uncles lost his life and we never found his body, we have given enough sacrifices for freedom and free thought of the world, your censor ship and interpretation that justice should be universally applied irks you. That is the problem that you think is propaganda, the cause of this you will never discuss. Now that you have discovered I am not a Muslim and have thrown that yoke since my birth and have family that is well cosmopolitan what you will say next, my one wrong usage ‘irony’ that was a fault of my poor English makes you mad but you have no respect for others feelings. We represent humanity too and we while make sure that blind propaganda to start this war as war of civilization may be truly understood,
Iqbal Latif
Btween Iqbal and him, maybe I shouldn't get into it. Anyhow thanks for your comments. My English is improved a lot after immigrated here long time ago. But still long way to go as you read mine. I envy anybody who speaks English fluently and write in the way the natives do especially if they come from non-English countries. I heard Europeans learn English easier than people from the other parts.
Anyhow he is not one of contant hackers accusing Iqbal of his forcasts right or wrong. He looks a very decent guy, veteran when I read his posts.
Iqbal does not sell his news letters(does he have one?) or insights for his profits like others. I do not know who is option jerry or terresa lo(?). After someone makes good predictions for a while and develops some technics, he or she get into profit business as I see that in SI, Silicon Investor.
I know another guy like Iqbal is Michael Burke, who did not sell his advice; he did not cheat for his own profits. Unfortunately, he decided to get a job at a big brokerage firm after he found out his brokers made more money for trading stocks for him. Still his forum, "Ask Michael Burke" is at SI. He cannot give any advice anymore due to his broker status.
Anyhow, his and Iqbal's methods are so complicate for me. I could not apply very well in my investing. Consequently I lost a very good portion of my family saving so I came out from lurker mode to ask Iqbal how an investor with a small chest apply his methods in investing. I want to recover loss. I don't like mutual funds so I want to do it by myself.
At the same time, Iqbal's two sons are taking MBA course at UC Berkeley, not so far away from me. They are results of home schooling. To consider their young age, I am very curious at how they taught them so well. Iqbal is so proud of his father,I think, who is not educated but a man of principles.
I hope I am remembered by my two daughters like that. I asked Iqbal about the secret about raising kids. It is not easy to help my daughter to learn math, English, and have her pratice paino, etc.
This is not right time for money and other things. I will wait for Iqbal to answer for my questions. I hope nobody use the information to attack him. I saw it too much on "Ideas" forum at SI. Now I am going back to lurker mode again.
Bye, Inho
Nothing in that usage is troublesome to me.

Another use of the word irony from Lebanese newspaper
Arabs need new tools to deal with new America
Opinion, The Daily Star, September 13, 2001
It is impossible to overstate the rage being felt in the United States over Tuesday’s bloody terrorist attacks. With this in mind, it is absolutely essential that Arab and Muslim governments adapt to the profound changes taking place in the world’s most powerful nation: America is no longer the animal it was before Sept. 11, 2001.
US Secretary of State Colin Powell has described the assaults as “war,” and NATO Secretary-General George Robertson has accepted the definition with all its repercussions for an alliance that regards an attack on one member as an attack on all. Even more importantly, Powell has launched an unprecedented appeal for the launching of a global campaign that figures to make life exceedingly difficult (and/or short) for any number of terrorists of varying political stripes. The threat of America’s awesome military might, though, is only one facet of the threat facing any nation that fails to cooperate with the hunt: The full weight of US influence cultural, diplomatic, financial, technological, etc. will no doubt fall on stragglers and foes alike.
Regardless of whether or not Tuesday’s cowardly crimes can be linked to the Middle East, the importance of joining the war on terrorism is especially important for the region’s governments. This part of the world is fragile in almost every possible way, making it crucial that it avoid becoming even more isolated than is already the case. Otherwise “terrorism” will be wholly defined by outsiders, leaving individuals and groups held dear to Arabs and Muslims (and particularly Lebanese) at the mercy of an angry superpower, not to mention other countries from around the globe.
Such a process would set the Islamic world back for generations, not only in terms of massive material losses and wasted human lives, but also as regards any hope of achieving progress toward what Iranian President Mohammad Khatami has described as a “dialogue of civilizations.”
That this phrase has been adopted by the head of government in a country often reviled by Washington as “radical” or “fundamentalist” is extremely poignant in light of the fact that has befallen America. The important thing is to build on this apparent irony until it can no longer be described as such, until peoples from very different countries and with apparently very divergent views can see that at bottom, their beliefs do not clash at all: History has simply put them at opposite ends of a dilemma whose solution can only lie in understanding. Only in this manner can the universal evil to which America has been subjected be catalyst for a new era, one for which subsequent generations everywhere will be eternally grateful to their predecessors.
This is a matter of right and wrong, which is to say that the motivations of murderers in no way diminish either their guilt. Even for those whose anger at Washington’s pro-Israeli stance predisposes them to applauding American suffering, cooperation with the war on terrorism should be on high on the agenda for one simple reason: self-preservation. The old ways of “dealing” with America no longer apply.

Yeah yeah yeah I turned your propaganda over to the FBI.
:=) Gary Swancey
It is most shocking and devastating to see normal humans beings twisting words, politicising my statements. On 2nd of Aug I was in Kuwait, I was picked up by Saddam forces, I know what Islamist terrorism is? I have been a victim of it, and I am not a Muslim for everyone's kind information. Do you understand that!! I hope for mankind to survive, I am an infidel from Islamic point of view. My father threw away yoke of Islam and from childhood we have seen the utmost of abuse but I still think that those who perpetate it and those who are victims the line has to be drawn. My lack of composition or many have over 5 years felt may have resulted in a statement that I absolutely never intended, this twist is beyond my thinking, that 'price is less,' rather the price is so high that I call it the 'blackest day in history of mankind.'
Iqbal Latif

Gary, you know very well that's not what I was referring to. This board chairman did not write that, and you know it. No, You are not stupid. However, it is at time of great emotion that one can be in wrong thought.
Question
Does the United States support and encourage freedom in the rest of the world or do we sponsor support and encourage despotic leaders that sacrifice individual freedoms of their own people, for the sake of their own power--- all the while mouthing the "necessary allegiance to the US.?
Frustrated is an understatement. I have been watching the horror of the rescue operations. It is heart wrenching. But there is more that just the aftermath of this murderous act and that is potential futher attacks.
You can defend anyone one you want and try to twist the meanings. I am not stupid so please do not try and color one of the most blatantly horrible statements I have ever read in my life.
I am an Amercian Patriot first and foremost and I do not ride a fence.

One thing to keep in mind here is speaking in person is sometimes easier when different nationalities are involved; in other words, by communicating in this manner (written only) - word syntax & literal versus figurative word meanings sometimes get skewed. Be patient with each other as you strive to understand what each person is trying to convey:)

Gary, it is very difficult time for everybody. It is better not to discuss in details. It is very easy to offend anybody in writing.
I just read an article of an English-Korean newspaper from Silicon Investor, Michael Burke forum, saying 36 Koreans (Korean Americans) are not accountable. They located 16 of them. The families and relatives in Korea stayed overnight at Korean Foreign Ministry to know whereabout and pray for that their sons, daughters,and/or fathers are not one of the victims.
I don't know how many people using subway underneath the WTC building. Someone said a lot of people can be buried when the buildings collaped.
Gary, I can't speak for himself but what"small" means is not what you mean. And drop all issues and differences. Pray for the best of all people.
It looks like we mobilize army to go to Afganitan. I hope they are well prepared. I don't know what to think. Hard to sleep when I kept focus on what's happening and how few rescued. How can they find very few? More people were rescued in the collapesed buildings after earthquake. Frustrated.
Bye, Inho
I do not know this poster at all and what I read was total propaganda. His true feelings came out in his composition as he tries to ride the fence.
Do you think Islamic fanatics just sit there and bear what he is saying? Even in Paris.
Why not he is praising the results. Glory to the terrorist that will change humanity.
Do you remember Rashidi(?) who wrote a funny novel about Mohammed(?) and hid for a long time due to death threat. There are always a threat to somebody who speaks up in the Muslim world
Yes I remember it well. But these Islam nations will defend the terrorist to the death in a Holy War but want to kill an author.
I think he had a lot of help from old enemy, Iraq, maybe Syria, and Iran.
That is apparent and President Clinton exported NSA-ducking phone, high-tech encryption devices to Syria. This technology allows these terrorists to mask their communications. Now Clinton is on TV with his absolute lack of concern for the US people. He does not have to worry he has the Secret Service.
Kim ... I am a veteran and my brothers are veterans but one and my father was a vertern. I do not believe I have ever read a statement so blantantly horrible as I did in that crock he wrote. Religion, Politics, Sports will lead to the worst arguements that ever come about.
However, when some tells me that one life (not to mention thousands) is ironcally maybe too small a price to pay for a change in humanity, needs to step back and look at what he just said or was it that he knows more is coming to raise the cost for a change in humanity.
I have been reading his posts since he made that post and you would NOT want me to elaborate on my opinion of the crock I have read. I understand the term fork tongue and propaganda.
Our calavry condems the US a to the Indians and then took everything from them. Locked them up on reservations. Of course we all can do a cultural history lesson but that has nothing to do with what I am upset about and to try and unfocus off of it is absurd.
I repeat how many lives does this Islam feel would be enough so that it would not be ironically too small?
:=) Gary Swancey
I don't try to defend Iqbal but I have read his posts over three years from SI. It is my observation from his posts that he is a permanent bull with an unbroken hope for humandkind and tearing down the thoughts of doomday sayers.
3 years ago Bin Laden name came out as a mastermind of terrorist acts to America, he was the one to condemn him publicly. Also, he criticzed many faults of wrong thinking in the Muslim world for advocating terrorists' acts and other issues such as woman's right in the public forums including newspapers if my memory correct.
You have to know he came from Pakistan. Now more Islamic fundamentalists are overtaking power little by little in his home county. That means more fanatics overthere, just sitting there and not watching what he is saying. Do you know he needs bodyguard when he visits his home country due to his views.
When he criticized very badly about Muslim, I worried about his big mouth(gg).
Because I lived in South Korea when two dictators,President Park and Chun. My mother whispered us when she said bad things about them. My father was lynched by the local Korean CIA operators because he distributed oppoisition newspapers at that time. He was lucky to save his life. His other friends, local newsreporters were rounded up and taken away.
During my service to military (mandatory not voluntary, I had to go Kuangju City, as a liasion officer between the local martial headquarter and my army division after Kuangju riot (around 1980) under General Chun, I had to bear hearing screaming and mourning sounds of rioters being tortured. There were freedom fighters or some of them were just innocent bystanders. Still we never know thousands were masscred by military but officially hundreds still now.
I heard from other sources some poeple tortured to death and lynched to death in the labor camps scattered in South Korea. Many criminals were round up and sent to very remote islands. We never heard their fates later. At that time, Korean CIA even sent their agents overseas and took out big mouths, the ones spoke against them.
What I am saying is that Iqbal is a very brave soul. Do you think Islamic fanatics just sit there and bear what he is saying? Even in Paris.
Do you remember Rashidi(?) who wrote a funny novel about Mohammed(?) and hid for a long time due to death threat. There are always a threat to somebody who speaks up in the Muslim world.
I belive you are born here and grew up here. As you know now, I came from South Korea partly due to freedom. What I see Iqbal's view is that he wants everybody to look at it in a little different perpective. For example, what do think Korean people, who firmly believed American CIA knew the General Chun was going to do and the government-support for Chun, thought about American Government? What you see outside from inside and what I see inside from outside. Why they hate us so much?
You knew already CIA messed up so many countries such Iran-Shah, Iraq-Bush Sr was CIA chief who supported Hussein, Panama-Noriega, Chile-Pinochette, South Korea-two to three dictators, columbia-still going, Haiti, and other South American countries, and go on. Except for Pearl Harbor, this is the gravest terrorist act with highest casualties. The other must be domestic one, Oaklahoma bombing. I believe the short term solution is to take whoever out and neutrilize them. In the long run, we seriously think how to deal with the causes. It needs a diffrent approach with a different view. You knew how America got into Vietnam war. We took it over from French without thinking of which Vietnamise people thought and support. We do not need to make the same mistake. Also, we need all supports from other countries and shut down all seret bank accounts from Switzland to Bahamas. All terroists and drug lords' moneys and American tax evaders money are harboring there. All crooks' money too.
I totally agreed with your guessing that it is more than Bin Laden. I think he had a lot of help from old enemy, Iraq, maybe Syria, and Iran. And who knows,Mossad? If we crushed Arab world, who gains most. We lose our blood and money, they gain support from us. They are the only people not to cheer in the middle East. I hate all seret deals and terrorists.
I will go back to work. I will argue with my coworkers about how to deal with the terrorists. Many of my black co-workers still believe CIA and it's operatives introduced drugs to the black communities. We have all kinds of theory but we don't look over our shoulders to worry about who are listening to us.
Freedom is one of the most important thing. Whatever we do for revenge, it is not worth if we lose our freedom of speech, travel, and seeking for happiness to fight with terrorists. They want our government to restrict our freedom for sake of safety.
How much safer does Israel kill Palestain, demolish their houses, and bomb them after they take hardline approaches? I rather live in democratic society with freedom than live safe in the dictator or police state surrounded by the police or military. Eventually they will check your bags and purses and asked all kinds to stupid questions and insult you. I can't bear that. I had enough in my home country. It is easy to say it is safe. If you live there everyday, it is different story.
Iqbal is the first one to condemn all terrorist act if you read all old his posts in SI.Anybody who follows his post for a long time can help me about this. I cannot speak for himself but what he suggested is to look at the issue in a different angle not to defend the fanatics.
America is the most generous country who help any country who has natrual disasters and man-made tragedy. But why many of them do not like us? That is the price of a world police? We have to think over again.
Also, I feel very sorry to hear that some Arabs and/or the lookslike faces have been mobbed and lynched. Their stores have been stoned. What is difference if we act in the same way Palestain youth did on street?
I have my deepest condolence for the victims's family and the one around us who are sad and angry. I know me and my coworkers pay more attention to talking and watching news than working. I hope you will be in peace. I know it will take time.
Bye, Inho
p.s. I remeber Iqbal was right when he
recommended "buy" instead of selling when embassies bombed. I don't know recent his performance (gg).
p.s.s. My wife told her coworker's husband already airlifed to unknown place. His retirement from military has suspended due to this attack. I hope he will be OK. Sorry for all isspelling.

GBard, this has been a very difficult and emotional time for us.
You have expressed many sentiments that I share. We need to eradicate terrrorism AND the conditions that spawn it. I hope that the actions that are taken by us in the forthcoming days achieve those goals.
Here is a link that provides information about Bin Laden.
