I believe the last article he mentioned ONP was in February this year. But don't quote me. I know he still believed in ONP, but he didn't like the way the CHINESE REVERSE MERGERS were going, so I think he dropped out for awhile. BUT you can bet he will be saying something soon. I know he wasn't too pleased with THE MUDDY WATER BOYS...I loved his articles! And back then it was boys now it's just Carson, hmmmmm.
I believe this company is going to do great. I hope they follow through and bring Muddy Waters to court. Otherwise around August 2nd, we will see "another research article" from Muddy Waters. I've noticed every two months they come out with a "research paper".
Have a good night and hopefully we will see 4 bucks soon. Once those new machines start cranking out ROTH said they will follow up and who knows maybe raise the target price...
I read that also and just listened to their 1st q conf call back in May. They seem pretty honest and upfront. I was wondering.....did Rick Pearson have the last say on this in Nov? I know there were a couple of back and forths between him and Block's people back in July and then I read something by Rick in Nov. I wonder if he still believes. I know he too has gone negative now on most of these reverse mergers.
The truth is this guy appears to be right on the money with many of these companies. I'm kind of glad he went after Onp first. I think he's sharpened his skills since then. Other than Csr, this is the only Chinese co. I own and I wouldn't touch any at this stage. I've seen a few fall....Rino, Sbay, Ccme. Give the guy credit. He's done a lot in a short period of time. I can ONLY HOPE he's wrong about Onp and so far, they've held up okay. If Onp can come out of this, we'll easily double and it will put a dent in the shorts. Right now, they're riding carte blanche.
I also believe that some big shots will go after Block in whatever means they are able. Ihub will probably delete this as off topic, but I don't see it that way. This guy has had more influence on my stock than anything or anyone else. Unfortunately, it's been negative. If there's something not quite right, he will be exposed. I have no doubt there are those in high places looking. Whether or not they find anything, remains to be seen.
I found this article quite intriguing.
And that SEC hoax was quite the story today...Now you can see how Shorts can just say a lie and people believe it!
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2011/06/20/bloomberg1376-LN30P80YHQ0X01-1O51C15QH57J1464TDBM74I953.DTL
Here's the excerpt I like from this article...
Chinese companies "should conduct the third-party independent investigation like we did, they should do it even better than us in order to shut others' mouths," Liu Zhenyong, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Baoding, Hebei-based Orient Paper, said yesterday in a phone interview. Liu said he is considering legal action against Muddy Waters.
I do wish the SEC would file charges against Block. You can call it whatever you want, but everything he has done is unethical. I've been watching his story since day one of last year. You know the old saying, "The bigger they are, the harder they cry." LOL
Thanks for keeping us informed even if it was a hoax. Let us know anything else you find out.
Now I'm reading this sec investigation is a hoax. Sorry if any were mislead.........
Carson Block who wrote negatively about ONP has just been charged by the SEC for stock manipulation. I'm trying to be careful here as Ihub deleted my previous post (though I don't have a clue why).
Bottomline: If you do some research, you will see that ONP was allegedly manipulated by short sellers and the SEC has formally charged these so-called manipulators.
Hope this message doesn't get deleted as it MOST DEFINITELY is NOT off-topic as it has very much to do with why this stock tumbled in the first place.
Hey Lou, did you pick up some more shares today? This sector is getting ridiculous. Waiting for the shorts to finish berating everyone of these Chinese RTO stocks. Of course China didn't have much good news today either. I'm hoping SNOFF can disprove Muddy Waters claims, that would put confidence back in this sector. How was your Father's Day? We will be on the UP side soon. I'm not worried about that at all!
The volume should come when ROTH raises its target price in July. And with all the noise from SNOFF and how good this stock is, that should generate some major players acknowledging this stock. So I figure we should be seeing some volume in the next few weeks...
What I don't understand with Smarttrend. Why are they keeping this stock at a downward trend? All indicators seem to point to the fact this stock is ready to start full production in July. It seems to me they would want to be the advocates for a swing in the upward motion. Then they could brag how "smart" they were when they started an upward trend on June 9th!
Hush ....don't even mention that... we want a strong and potent run.. and tomorrow could be the day
You know I bought some today. Maybe you'll still pick up some for 3.25! But I hope that doesn't happen! LOL
I know I read it this morning and I couldn't believe it... yet now you we be able to get those shares that escaped you for les than $3.50
Looks like we have Zack's to blame for today's price being so low. And just when it was beginning to see 3.70 this morning...

SmarTrend currently has shares of Orient Paper in an Downtrend and issued the Downtrend alert on March 15, 2011 at $4.73. The stock has fallen 23.5% since the Downtrend alert was issued.
I knew I should've bought more at 3.55! LOL
I think I might just pick up some more today. Anything under four dollars is a great starting point. ONP has fought hard to prove itself and is about to reap the reward!
Side note: Canada is doing what the U.S. should've done last year, investigate Muddy Waters. I mean really short a stock AND THEN WRITE an article about it. Give me a break this stinks of fraud and market manipulation!
Great work on the DD front.... Thanks 10atious....We all know that profit and revenue will support this stock and we will be high flying very soon.... and just think we only have 18.35M shares of outstanding stock. So when we get bullish this puppy will run and fast....
Get ready for some REAL ACTION soon:
For those who don't know already Muddy Water's practically destroyed ONP's PPS last year with false statements! Looks like Muddy Water's picked on the wrong stock this time SNOFF. Several Analysts have come to their defense, while one in particular mentioned ONP.
http://business.financialpost.com/2011/06/07/muddy-waters-sino-forest-research-pile-of-crap-dundee/
From this article:
Furthermore, Mr. Kelertas claimed that this isn’t the first time that Muddy Waters has acted dubiously. He said a researcher with the short seller told management at Orient Paper Corp., the first Chinese company targeted by the short seller back in 2010, that he would write a research report for them in return for US$300,000. Mr. Kelertas said Orient Paper declined the offer and two months later, Muddy Waters issued their initial report calling the company a fraud.
Mr. Kelertas pointed out that since then, Orient Paper has refuted every single claim, while Deloitte & Touche, hired as independent auditors found Muddy Waters guilty of using false information.
Lemm, Mighty Face, glad you agree with "Lou" and me. This is going to be a great stock again. It has been so transparent that it will get the attention of the big boys once it maintains five dollars and above. Looking forward to a great ONP summer! We'll watch this stock move soon.
great news thanks for posting
i look out for july i got 4100 pieces from ONP
so let us go to the moon
very nice news!!
i am going to buy some more!!
thx
I double your thoughts on this one....Thanks for the cheering.... not many others are here....pity for them
I agree "lou", this is going to rally soon. I've always thought this could see 10 bucks by the end of the year! Roth had a target price of 16 last year! We'll see what they do when the machines start cranky out the paper at twice the speed of last year! Woohoo no brag just fact!
Amen ....this is a good thing... and now maybe we can get a sustained rally going.... This is a profitable company and we will have a share increase in the short run very soon
Well I found today's PR, good one I might add.
http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/orient-paper-announces-production-line-updates-and-comments-on-recent-industry-development-123372538.html
Maybe ROTH will raise the target price after July!!!
What PR's? I've looked but didn't see anything. I thought MW's new report on SNOFF would make this stock drop a bit today. Hopefully we can get to 4 bucks and hold for awhile. Gotta do some errands but will be back later. Glad you are on board with this the same as I am. I was five cents away from buying it at 3.50 on Friday. Should've gone for the 3.55!
Great start this morning and some good PR's with it... So are we on our way? well let's watch and see.... moving up fast
Great start this morning and some good PR's with it... So are we on our way? well let's watch and see.... moving up fast
Good news, bad news. Muddy Waters is at it again.
Bad news for the company they just shorted and their investors (including a billionare) Sino-Forest Corporation (TRE.TO, OTC:SNOFF)Strong Sell, stock fell over 65% today.
Good news for ONP, because every article carrying this story has mentioned ONP as being Muddy Waters first article. Stating that ONP is still operating and has basically brushed off Muddy's claims as having been falsely accused of mishandling funds.
I just wish ONP could sue this fraudulent company. Muddy Waters is making millions shorting every stock they write about. Seems a little bit of an insider trading "Knowing what they write will affect the stock price" that is grounds for investigating I'd think.
Hey good buddy,
I know that we had a good day and now 2 poor days.... not sure where this might go at this point.... but I am in this for the long haul.... Yeah I will load up too but only if it drops below $3.25... So I don't think we are going there. Looking at the charts I am seeing the 50 day ave @ $4.02. So we'll need to get over that and close then we can move on up to the bigger and better things in life.
Hey "loubigfish", if this stock goes down to 3.50, I will be loading up big time. This should not even be this low. Once those machines are up and running and Roth inspects them, we will see this stock go "To the Moon." (as Ralph Cramden from "The Honeymooners" would say).
I'm hoping that it doesn't go any lower, but if it does I'll be loading up my truck! Remember Jim Cramer's famous quote, "Bulls make money, bears make money (this is bear time, time to make some money), but those pigs get slaughtered..."
Until Roth ups it's target price from 5 to 7 again we will not see much advance on this great stock. I believe they are waiting for their new machinery to start working before they do another analysis.
http://www.zacks.com/research/get_news.php?id=152l4407
Orient Paper (NYSE:ONP) has a potential upside of 28.5% based on a current price of $3.89 and an average consensus analyst price target of $5. (THAT WOULD BE ONE ANALYST ROTH)
SmarTrend currently has shares of Orient Paper in a Downtrend and issued the Downtrend alert on March 15, 2011 at $4.73. The stock has fallen 17.8% since the Downtrend alert was issued. BRAGING RIGHTS HERE
If this stock can keep above the $4 status for awhile Smarttrend will do the rest...
This was posted on their sight on May 24th.
http://www.mysmartrend.com/news-briefs/technical-analysis/smartrend-vindicated-orient-paper-downtrend-call-stock-price-down-233
"SmarTrend will continue to scan these moving averages and a number of other proprietary indicators for any changes in momentum for shares of Orient Paper."
I think we are seeing an Uptrend, don't you? Oh, and we saw it before Smarttrend! LOL
Absolutely... I think we are on a tear.... We are moving up after hours... and that is a fantastic sign... $4.18 as I write this... wow what a turnaround... this is a stock now and it's on the fly.
Hey "Lou", we just might be able to thank YONG for today's activities on the RTO's. I predicted that if just one RTO could make a comeback that "The Good RTO's" would reap its rewards.
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-05-31/morgan-stanley-invests-in-short-sale-target-yongye-international.html?cmpid=yhoo
Quote from the article that caught my attention:
Morgan Stanley is offering a vote of confidence to a company whose stock was down 55 percent in 2011 through last week amid a hedge fund’s accusation that it manipulated earnings.
I don't own any YONG. This article indicates to me that Morgan Stanley is debunking a hedge funds reference to this company being a fraud. Maybe the banking industry is finally taking a stance against Hedge Funds shorting good companies. Like I believe they have done with ONP...
This may just be the turnaround we needed!
lets us hoop this time
go onp go
Well seeing that we hit a bottom at $3.30's.... now is the time to run to $5.00... no holds barred.. this is a profitable and expanding company.... and it will rise to the top and beyond... back to where we were back at $10.00 in the next 6 months
If Roth captital had just put a buy and raised the target price we would be fine. I believe the turn around should be near July when the other machine starts operating. Holding firm, maybe pickup a few more shares tomorrow. One of my other stocks is killing me royally! So selling all and dispersing the losses.
If buyer would take the asking price and not the bidding price we could have an increase in share price sometime in the near future
It seems that everyone is attempting to bring the price down lower and lower? that is fine for me... I believe that the bounce will be bigger than ever.
Manatee, ONP got more hurt by ROTH capital than it did with the shorts I'm afraid. ROTH lowered their target price to $5 from $7. Once they did that I took half of my investment and put it elsewhere. I believe the shorts are leaving this sector, we just need an analyst who will be more fair than ROTH Capital. I believe in this company. Once their other piece of equipment is up and running full speed this stock will climb quickly. Last year Roth Capital said they would revisit ONP when the equipment was in full operation. That should happen around August, so by Christmas this stock will be flying high again with no shorts in sight! Patience
OK, broke my rule and bought the break of $4 a couple of day's ago, without the volume confirmation. Got burned and realized just why I try to stick to my rules in the first place. Got stopped out and will now wait for any (if any) future buy oppts.
I Will be very patient with this entire China sector for quite a while and think it's a shame the short term traders are now in control of this paticular market.
that is good news
lets us go back where we must by more than 7,-$
glto
Shorts are getting desperate.
http://blogs.forbes.com/joshuabrown/2011/05/16/us-investors-face-red-collar-crime-wave/
My biggest question to this guy would be: If you truly worried about the investors: Why would you wait 9 months to voice your concerns? My theory is this guy bought into the shorting of these companies and guess what, the shorts are tired and moving out of the RTO's and starting to short U.S. stocks. IMO
Most of my RTO's were roaring back today. It's time to load up on these stocks, they could return some great profits over the next six months! While U.S. stocks start to tank again... This is My personal opinion, of course.
I smell some positive action today.... so let's watch
I would too, but the last time Roth gave ONP a 7 dollar price target the stock dropped from five bucks to four bucks. I can't explain the rationale to such ludicrous selling. But it seems to be there for these RTO's and ONP has proved itself over and over again. Maybe ONP needs a new analyst!
I still like it to go to $5.00 just need some volume and and nice breeze
Well Roth maintains a neutral and drops the target price to 5 bucks. What the ...
http://www.cnanalyst.com/2011/05/analyst-actions-on-chinese-stocks-asia-born-cast-cea-cha-lfc-my-onp-may-12-2011.html
Roth Capital Partners maintained Neutral rating on Orient Paper Inc (AMEX:ONP), and cut price target from $7 to $5.
There goes my biggest hope for this stock. We will see three dollars again sorry to say after this report...
Good article about RTOs. IF YOU READ TO THE END it's all about ONP.
