It is not an article written by SUN. It is an old news release. Still, I have not found one single mention of Infinium on any of the three websites you mentioned other than public press releases by Infinium.
http://www.sun.com/smi/Press/sunflash/2004-10/sunflash.20041028.1.html
The article is from October 2004 and says that Infinium Labs will release the Phamtom in 2005. Well we know the date is slipping. The point I wanted to make is that KB stated that he is still has partnership with these 3 companies Sun, Microsoft and Nvidia. I called the main # at SUN and spoke to someone in the gaming division and confirmed that they are a strategic partner of SUN.
June 29, 2004!!! Holy crap! What am I still doing with this stock? The article talks about the failed release date of November 2004!!!
greencheetah--Wrong. Check out the Sun/Infinium links ALL located on the Sun web page.

Games, Games, Games
To dispel the argument that Java technology is slow and doesn't do graphics well, McNealy invited Chris Melissinos, Sun's Chief Gaming Officer, to demonstrate some of the cool games that run on Java technology. Melissinos demonstrated two high-speed games, both chock-full of terrific graphics. He said that thanks to the Java technology-based game community that's been built up in java.net, "there is no application being written in the game space, in C++, that Java cannot do."
But what about game machines, McNealy wondered. "Where is Sun in that space?" To answer the question, Kevin Bachus, President and Chief Operating Officer of Infinium Labs, Inc. (and significantly, one of the four co-creators of the Xbox at Microsoft) came onstage to introduce a very cool game machine developed by Inifinum that will go on sale in November. Called the Phantom game receiver, the machine will allow game players to enjoy PC based games in their living room, including games built using Java technology. "We're going to ship with the J2SE runtime." stated Bachus, noting that the Phantom will be the first game specific box to ship with the Java runtimes already installed. Through the Phantom Game Service, game players will have access to hundreds -- even thousands -- of games on demand, including great new Java technology-based games.

I only found links to news releases by Infinium. Nothing written by the actual companies.
I here you, this is a tough one. I for one think it will play out. The fact that he mention these 3 strategic parters in the newest broadcast tell me (I hope) that they are still working together. If you go the the 3 corporate web sites and search for Infinium Labs or IFLB you can see some of what they are working on. Like I have been saying, high risk/high reward.
www.nvidia.com
www.sun.com
www.microsoft.com
I'd appreciate links to the pages where IFLB is mentioned at these websites?
I'm not selling now. There is some potential but extremely high risk that no product will ever be produced.
I disagree, he reaffirmed IFLB's strategic partnerships with NVIDIA Corp, Microsoft and Sun Microsystems. If you go to all 3 of thes companies we sites, they all mention IFLB and what they are working on. I feel that there is something brewing with all 3 companies. Time will tell if I am right or wrong but at this time I am sticking with IFLB.
Worthless rehash of information I've heard ten times already. A few months ago we were told we'd get some real information like a launch date and prices etc... "within the next few weeks".
I just listened to the Broadcast, Excellent broadcast. JB mention the strategic partnerships with NVIDIA Corp, Microsoft and Sun Microsystems.

Article Excerpt: "Next Generation of Game Consoles Set to Shake up Gaming Industry"
By: Ann-Marie Fleming
July 2005
As the gaming industry prepares for the launch of the next generation of gaming consoles, discussions are heating up as to the potential impacts that may ensue. Previous transitions have revealed that entrance into the next gaming cycle often results in higher costs, bigger budgets and larger production teams. As the current gaming cycle comes to an end and the industry prepares for the next generation, these impacts are believed to reach new levels.
Companies that have learned from previous transitions adjust and adapt to ensure that the next cycle proves beneficial. For many this approach becomes one of safety, as developers and publishers turn to genres, titles, themes, licensed products and brands that have proven successful, many times avoiding new and riskier directions.

Good Article. As to when that launch will be, sources close to the company have indicated that a new round of funding is being closed at the moment, with a view to bringing the console to market - finally - in early 2006.

Fear is taking this stock down. I feel that they will get the funding and launch the product. Why, because they said so.
Former WorldCom boss Bernard Ebbers was sentenced to 25 years in prison Wednesday for leading the largest corporate fraud in U.S. history. No one want to defaud investors in 2005. They go to jail.
IFLB has now been on the NASDAQ's Reg. SHO naked short threshhold list for 118 straight days. So, that means there are still lots of shares short here. When the shorts cover...IFLB should up very strongly. All it should take is the right news and some time. If, it weren't for a lot of shorting of IFLB (and naked shorting...which is illegal!!!...especially when it lasts for 118 straight days!!!)...IFLB's stock price would still be quite bit higher than it is now.
Here's yesterday's NASDAQ Reg. SHO list:

It seems the PHANTOM is following the path of the Virtual Keyboard from Ibiz...doesn't look like it's gonna make it. I think it's an incredible prospect, but does Infinium Labs have what it takes? Doesn't seem likely!
I think everyone...including the shorts are waiting for news. This co. has been issuing shares as the pps went down...and so, it was apparently shorted at the same time.
IMO...we will spike up eventually...and then, begin a climb back up. The question is when? I'm in.
anything going to happen here? looking pos here lately
I think they will license the rights to sell all the games they can and want to. The way they deliver the games...via broadband to their console etc...definitely appears to be the wave of the future IMO.
Hopefully, the pps will begin to strengthen soon. That would be nice.
As I see it, there are still lots of shorts on this stock...so, IFLB is likely to spike up IMO...rather than have a gradual pps climb upward. We'll see.
I was thinking the other day... when the phantom does indeed launch it will have revenues from the subscriptions. however...
I heard kevin say that there would be game rentals availble which would be something along the lines of 5 bucks or so for 3 days or something. Does IFLB itself provide this rental service...If so they would not only collect revenue on this service but would also save money by not having to purchase multiple material units (cd's,packaging and game booklets for many units for rental at movie store).
Also when someone purchases a game at bestbuy or walmart they have to also pay for the markup on that game to make a profit for carrying it as well as inventory costs.
My question about this is who actually sells that game over the phantom service? Is it the publisher, a third party such as something like amazon for games, or does phantom itself sell the game for the developer? And if so are the markups still there or reduced or co-shared with publisher? Profits?? If the phantom game service sells the games itself they would collect markup and are not required to pay inventory costs.
If the phantom game service does indeed sell games and collects on rentals itself than they have multiple streams of income within the phantom game service subscription.
Where as sony playstation3 and xbox 360 don't sell multiple publisher games or provide rentals either as far as I know.
I've also heard that the playstation3 will have to sell something above a million units just to be break even because the costs of developing it. And I've heard Xbox 360 has spent hundreds of millions of dollars on research and development.
And since both Xbox 360 and Playstation3 have multiple processors that this only makes it much more difficult to develop a game both financially and skillwise, ie not as developer friendly requiring more programers and/or more hours on a game. It Costs more to progame on hardware that seems to bend the learning curve of developers in a drmatic way. I believe only a certain group of developers can afford to make games for Xbox 360 or Playstation3 because they have the skilled people and money to do so.
Many developers say that the AMD athlon 64 chips are a better step in the right direction, Xbox 360's 3 xenons processors i don't think are as cheep to produce nor do they have the architectual benefits of AMD's athlone 64.
In the grand scheme of things for any business it's costs versus profits. The phantom is more convienient and less costly according to kevin, and also we don't yet know the new specs of the system yet either which makes it difficult to compare them graphically to xbox 360 and playstation3. I do believe that they will still be able carve themselves a nyce slice of the marketshare of the gaming industry or steal some from other consoles.
we shall see.
From a technical point of view on IFLB it seems to be making a triple bottom which is a reversal pattern...but that's IMHO.
so if anyone wants to go around nay-saying and spreading bad word about IFLB in the next few weeks go ahead, by all means do that cuz I'll get a better bid price. Try and hate. I love laughing all the way to the bank.
"Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds."

There are apparently lots of shorts and naked shorts on IFLB. This stock has been on the NASDAQ Reg. SHO naked short threshold list since 1/21/2005...and it's still listed on it. That's 117 consecutive market days: http://www.buyins.net/tools/symbol_stats.php?sym=iflb
Here's another link: http://www.nasdaqtrader.com/aspx/regsho.aspx
So, IMO...when IFLB starts to turn-around pps-wise...it will likely do it in a very strong way. I like this co. I picked up some shares yesterday. We'll see what happens.
yeah karen, nobody but you and i... point is, the gamers' world is a peculiar place and, much in the same manner as opting out of the '04 E3 conference, bachus is devoting very limited resources towards completing a salable [to gamers] product .... [relatively costly] conventional PRs that reach a widespread audience are reserved for significant and substantial news, such as market release dates, pricing etc. etc.
bachus' G4TV schtick was his merely remaining visible and approachable, so as to allay fears regarding gossip like his rumored departure from IFLB.
per bachus, IFLB should be issuing a PR with a week or 2 with significant and substantial news, such as market release dates, pricing... aimed at coinciding with Microsoft's Xbox 360 release scheduled for ~November this year.
G4TV is part of most cable packages and anyone who has Cable has this station. As far as the PPS goes, we will see.
.25 cents??!!
Ha!!
You people crack me up!
It's a DIME now.
It's a "phantom" alright!
Who saw the show?
Nobody!
Cause nobody gets G4TV!
Sounds like a scam to me.
Target Aims At Music Subscriptions
Peter Kafka, 07.05.05, 5:45 PM ET
Consumers love digital music, they're just not that eager to pay for it. Perhaps Target can help change their minds.
The Minneapolis-based retail chain is close to a rollout of a digital music subscription service, say people familiar with the company's plans. Target (nyse: TGT - news - people ) will offer single-track music downloads, similar to those offered by Apple Computer's (nasdaq: AAPL - news - people ) iTunes store, but the emphasis will be on all-you-can-eat monthly subscriptions, putting it in competition with offerings from Napster ( nasdaq NAPS) , Yahoo! (nasdaq: YHOO - news - people ) and RealNetworks (nasdaq: RNWK - news - people ).
Executives at major music labels who have seen Target's presentation say the offering, which will be powered by Seattle-based Loudeye (nasdaq: LOUD - news - people ), will offer both a "tethered" service, which allows customers to use the service only on their PCs, as well as a "portable" service, which allows users to move the tracks to compatible music players--which, notably, does not include the most popular digital music player, Apple's iPod. The portable service, sources say, will likely be priced somewhere between the $6.99 charged by Yahoo! for Yahoo! Music Unlimited and the $14.95 charged by RealNetworks and others for their portable services.
Target officials did not respond to multiple requests for comment, and Loudeye executives declined to comment.
Target isn't the first offline retailer to offer an online music service. Virgin Megastore launched its own tethered subscription plan last fall, priced at $2 less than the monthly fees charged for tethered services by Napster and Real's Rhapsody, which cost $9.99 per month. Wal-Mart Stores (nyse: WMT - news - people ) has been selling digital music downloads since March 2004.
But neither retailer has made a significant splash in the market. Major label executives have been particularly disappointed with the performance of Wal-Mart's iTunes-like offering, which they say has not leveraged foot traffic at the giant chain's 3,000-plus stores into commensurate sales. Neither company has released sales data for their respective offerings.
Label executives say they hope that Target will be able to help give digital music services a push by focusing on families--particularly mothers who control their families' budgets--and by explaining exactly how a subscription service works.
Until now, industry observers say, music consumers seemed comfortable with Apple's "à la carte" service, where most tracks are 99 cents, but seem uncomfortable with the notion of subscription services, where consumers "rent" all the music for a monthly fee. Users pay monthly to maintain their music library, which evaporates from the PC and isn't playable on portable players if the tab isn't paid.
But even Apple's store has done little to replace the years-long decline in CD sales that has plagued the industry. The 400 million tracks Apple has sold so far works out to roughly 27 songs per iPod sold, with the music industry pocketing roughly two-thirds of each sale. A subscription service, on the other hand, could generate that much wholesale revenue for the industry in the first four months of a subscription.
Napster Chief Executive Chris Gorog, for one, says that general retailers like Target won't make a dent in music-only services.
"The late entrance of yet another general retailer into the digital music industry will likely help Napster," says Gorog. "When consumers are searching for a compelling digital music experience and are presented with a plethora of generic offerings from non-music players, they invariably default to Napster, the most recognized digital music brand in the world."
2 Bacchus statements regarding the Phantom Game Service, "on Monday, June 6th": (1) PR in next "couple of weeks" regarding specs, pricing etc.; and, (2) it'll ship about the same timeframe as Microsoft's Xbox 360 -- allegedly, slated for a November launch date (see article further below).
and, yeah, this the phantom cache-ing process is also about Wave's 'Xpress/peter-meter IP... if it isn't Wave (WAVX) is toast. if the phantom service is launched w/o employing Wave IP, then, what we've all hoped for in terms of 'Xpress success, will have been effectively circumvented...

Report: ~$300 Xbox 360 by Thanksgiving
http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/05/27/news_6126611.html
J Allard tells TheStreet.com that Microsoft's next-gen console "will be in the neighborhood" of $299; Canadian paper confirms November ship-date target.
The dwindling fog around Microsoft's launch plans for the Xbox 360 dissipated further yesterday when the likely price of the Xbox 360 was revealed. Speaking to the financial news site TheStreet.com, Microsoft corporate vice president and chief XNA architect J Allard was asked if the Xbox 360 would launch with the same $299 price tag as the original. "It's going to be in the neighborhood [of $300]," he said, apparently dispelling fears of a $399 or even $499 machine, although $350--or even $360--could still be possible. However, Allard also stressed that any final decision on the 360's price was "about two months away."
Meanwhile, further north, the Canadian daily The Globe and Mail ran an article profiling Cimtek, a small company specializing in quality assurance testing at a Chinese electronics plants. Burlington, Ontario-based Cimtek recently landed a monster contract to help oversee production of the Xbox 360 in Guangdong Province, in the south of China.
Speaking to the The Globe and Mail, Cimtek vice president of operations Craig Thornton outlined the Xbox 360 manufacturing plan, saying that the console would be in " preliminary build stage until July," after which the console will enter the product-validation phase before "hitting full-scale production in September."
Then Thornton let slip the Xbox 360's target ship date, saying of Microsoft, "They have a huge mandate for getting [the Xbox] out for Thanksgiving this year." His comments appear to confirm the November launch date accidentally posted on MTV prior to the May 12 Xbox 360 unveiling on the network. It also further cements speculation that the console would hit the market in mid-November, around the anniversary of the release of the first Xbox in 2001.
Whatever its exact price or lauch date may be, the Xbox 360 will definitely arrive before the end of 2005 worldwide. "We will be launching the next generation of Xbox in North America and Europe and Japan this holiday season," chief Xbox officer Robbie Bach told GameSpot earlier this year.
All Aboard. Don't wait too long to get in this one.
Yes, I think we finally have the real deal. The price has firmed up at .13 and the volume is good. I think we will have lots of news this month. Those that did not get in will be kicking themselves.
Thanks, good interview. Did much to explain how things have gone, and where they are going and restored my confidence to a large extent.
masta
This is a great read for us longs.
http://www.g4tv.com/attackoftheshow/features/51926/Does_the_Phantom_Live.html
I bought some this morning. With great risk comes the potential for great reward.
I hear you. I have owned this stock in the past and wanted to get back in before any product launch. I finally bought 30K at .132 last week. My plan is to hold until we finally get a product launch and then sell half. The potential is hugh.
I thought maybe he was nervous because of being on tv also, but he has given so many speeches before and should be used to public speaking. I am going to buy some today if I get the price I want. I am afraid, however, that at least 10 million of the shares purchsed in the last few days are from those trying to make a quick profit. They will bail if the price drops or if it rises - keeping the price down either way. I've been watching this company for over 6 months and it's hard to get excited about anything that was said yesterday.
I noticed he was nervous, but figured its just due to being on the broadcast. Still, I feel this is excellent news. I am sure we will hear much more in the comming weeks.
Just another point I wanted to make - he seemed really nervous the whole time - almost like he was lying or being misleading. Maybe he is just excited. I guess it only matters what all investors as a whole feel about it.
I learned nothing new. Xbox 360 is set to launch in Novemeber. If the Phantom is going to launch this year, it had better be by November! So where did they get the $40,000,000 they needed to produce and market the Phantom? Oh well, who cares if the stock price jumps tomorrow right?
WMV version of the Phantom on G4 segment:

AWESOME, It was great to finally see the real deal. He stated that it was due to ship around the same time the new microsoft x-box is due to ship. The console look slightly larger than a x-box. He seemed very excited and stated that we will be hearing pricing details and shipping details in the next few weeks. The game will be updated to the current pc specs of todays pc's. He also acknowledged that pricing will be competitive with other systems. The host mentioned the rumors of it not being real and Bachus swore is was and patted on it. The next few months should be very exciting.
don't think so Mickey... $0.25 MAYBE, when there's rubber on the road
UPTICKING ALREADY in Premarket. .25 Cent possible today. Demonstration of Games on Demand Phantom Today 7 pm EDT and 4 PM PDT and AGAIN TOMORROW. Lots of news, publicity and national Coverage can only do wonders for the stock price.
Lots of buying into the weekend. Looks like people want in before the news on Monday.
Kevin Bachus, will appear on G4 TV "Attack of the Show" airing on Monday, June 6th.

Mickey--Great find! The not too subtle subliminal message in that interview is that rumors about its death have been premature.
