I haven’t owned in a while. I like the price but it’s not as sure as people think.

1 important part people fail to understand when they are considering buying anything related to precious metals, if you aren’t taking physical delivery, it’s still just paper.

I’m 95% cash in all positions again. Watching T and a few penny’s for now.

Eventually you want to buy minimum year out,2018 are now available,if you buying deep in the money,that is your year to go.

Whoops I made a mistake, I actually bought March 2016 calls, not December '15. So I have 4 months to see that price rise! I think I got mixed up because the other option I bought at the same time (put on NTGR) was for December '15.

Gabriel, thanks for the discussion. Those bid and asks had to have updated after I bought because I'm quite certain they were not identical between december and march, otherwise I would have bought March. If I remember right, there was about a 20-30 cent difference between December and March calls when I bought, and even more for the later years. I'm hoping for a quick uptick in gold price within the next month, and I'll profit as long as IAG gets above $1.60 or so.

I am very new to options trading so I appreciate any insight. I've been trading stocks for seven years and have done several covered calls, but this is only my second non-covered call option trade. I'm sure I still have a lot to learn.

When buying/selling deep in the money calls/puts I always choose the longest possible timeframe,here would be now 2018.Why?Scenario on day expiration December

Iag fell to 0.50c,...you have lost all your money invested without any chance to regroup if the stock recover in January.

Deep in the money options aren't usually far off from itself.Look on the spread.for about 10-15c more you could have buy 2018expiration dates!!!

Sold 100 November 1.5calls for 0.45=it does mean, I did basically short 10000 shares at 1.95.And closer it gets to 1.50 on this upcoming Friday more profit I keep.

Lets say stock will stay 1.85.Ill make 1000$
1.50=4500$


I did gamble on selling little deeper in money options than usually to get more premium

I was looking to sell dec 2dollar strike..bid/Ask was 0.10/0.20
If the stock would close below 2$i would keep 15c,but I couldn't get fill on those
