Got to hit the trails this weekend up in Helen, GA.

Still have to download all the pics but here's where it all began.

That is cold! That has happened to me quite often on some around here.I just put some tree limbs one time to block the wrong path that you could have taken.Very good deed you did.Probably will save somebody's life one day.

It's like 19* here.
About 3 weeks ago my party missed a very badly marked turn on the Mountain to Sea Trail (MST) and it almost caused us to get seriously turned around. We were walking 6 miles (mostly uphill) from Stone Mountain State Park (NC) almost to Doughton Park on the Blue ridge Parkway (actually Devils Garden overlook).
So a friend and myself made two signs and went back this past Saturday and put them up on the trail. Just an arrow to turn left and the initials MST.

Very cold here.Was hoping for some nice weather like it was a few days ago here.With that big cold front happening it will be a while for a hike.Hope everybody is doing ok.

Hello all.Been away for a week helping out in a tore up store!! Loads of fun- NOT.Was put up in a 4 star hotel just too bad i didn't have any time to enjoy it and the walls are paper thin which i don't understand as it is a $125 nite hotel??? My next door neighbors decided they were going to stay up till 4 a.m. and talk my first night there.I wanted to tell them to go to bed (through the wall as they would be able to hear me!!) that some people have to work for a living! and need some sleep!!! Hope all is well with everyone.

Piano is alot easier on the ears.Good luck! My son is 5 but will probably go through the same thing when he gets that age.Hopefully by then we will have a house with a basement!!

My son just got a set of drums and he's playing with a keyboard. I need to arrange some lessons for him (he's 10)

Birthday Party.My daughter does take piano lessons though! She has a real good ear for music.Both have played in band when they were in public school.

I was able to get a small group together today and we hiked a 6 mile section of the Mountain to Sea Trail. Mostly uphill!
It was freezing butt COLD! We went from Stone Mountain (NC) to Devil's Garden (Blue Ridge Parkway) near Doughton Park.

I do believe I will stay on the trail from now on.

Usually a good idea to stay on the trail.Some times it works out but alot of times it doesn't.When it doesn't it usually isn't pretty.Mother nature can been pretty punishing.

A friend and myself just climbed up the face of stone mountain without any ropes, clips or hooks.
...before anyone points out how stupid that was, I already know.
I wouldn't suggest anyone ever do that and I'll never do it again,
but that was an amazing feeling (also terrifying)!
I do believe I will stay on the trail from now on.

I guess being in the foothills it was too cool here last night to run the A/C! We have been playing card games today and having alot of fun.One is called Switch and alot of fun.You off all next week?

Had a good relaxed day.Didn't go hiking.Same here ,it got real windy and cold about an hour after i posted here.Just have to work 8-2 Tuesday (1/2 hour drive home)so if it is not windy i promised Zachary we would go hiking (he wanted to bad today!!! YA!!!!!)

Morning Deann.The same here.The sun is out and warming up outside.The trails are plenty wet so we may head over to Berry College mountain campus and and walk on some of the roads back there and hike to the lake that is out there that i think i told you about one time.Very pretty out there as i have said too many times!!! lol

I agree with that 100%. I WON'T ever hike alone again after the murder of that woman on the Silver Comet Trail this summer.

I use to think taking my dog and my pepper spray was enough but not anymore.

Being a lone female hiker is very dangerous. I'm glad you are looking out for her.
