Thanks for the post, that encouraged me to actually read the transcript. Very positive things happening, I didnt know that shipments had already started to DJI.
Very interesting Q & A session
while I did not get a chance to ask all my questions because I stopped to allow for anyone else to ask and then didn't realize the call would end, I did get the company to confirm on a few points....
the DJI deal is a significant milestone for the company
we are about to get an announcement regarding the Portable Energy Storage Devices by this months end
and will be selling starting June
other projects which were discussed in the last Q4 conference call that were supposed to come about in Q2 of this year are on track and they expect to make announcements there as well
we are working with a Robotics company from Europe in the line of lawn mowers which is looking to be launched in the U.S.
Anshan deal is on going, I expect to hear something here in the next few months
I got 450 shares at 1.80 and I finally computed my average since I have HPJ in 3 accounts. It is 3.36 for some 41k+ shares. If we do not get the ANSHAN deal it will be very hard to recover the loss. Being in HPJ made me skip investing in other things like oil a couple of months ago. I am watching a couple of stocks and one of them went up 400+%. I am all in HPJ and in 2-3 years HPJ can go 300 to 600% IF we get the deal.
I had no idea we will get that PR so late. If we are still under 1.90 I will buy another 400 tomorrow. It looks like the report will be next week.
I added more @ 1.91 looking for that News to hit!
I timed my purchase of 2 dollars thinking that HPJ will send a PR this morning announcing the Q1 results this week. I googled "LITHIUM POLYMER BATTERY FOR DRONES" and the price range was from 4.49 to 462. I wonder if HPJ is producing a variety or just one kind of batteries. If HPJ gives good news we would have to go through a mountain of investors who paid 2.35 through 2.55.
Have a good trip and yes I picked up some more 2's today!
Just picked up my last 680 shares at 2.00 before my trip on Tuesday. I will be back on the 14th of May richer or poorer. GLTA
he doesn't know anything so no need to ask
I would ask what you KNOW but it looks like this is your first post Here.
Huuummmm I'm Golden here! Lol
Knowledge is power don't worry I'm always Green here!
Hey all,get out while you can. This thing is going to tank and fast.Look at the chart, never ending ski slope.
The value of putting a GTC order is that I was first this morning and I received 191 shares at 2.00. With a down day the 309 other shares should get filled also.
I picked up some 2.01 to average down a bit and if it drops more then we average down more until News hits the wire.
I would venture to guess that it is lower now. How can you not cover at 2?
At 11 o'clock PCT I saw the 10k bid at 2.00 by 26.3k ask at 2.01. So I put a 500 shares bid at 2 GTC thinking with 2 hrs to go I would get them for sure and most likely break 2. I believe we traded about 55k shares in the last 2 hours and I did not get filled. I did not watch the action.
I will monitoring the close of HPJ STOCK price from Europe starting next Tuesday for 2 weeks. It is pretty simple, increase revenues and the stock will hold the gains. GLTA.
Interesting...
Short interest has gone up to the highest since June of 2015.
We have gone up from 133k (as of 3/31) to 321k (as of 4/15).
They have 1 day to cover if they were forced to.
Either they made a quick bet after the DJI news that the stock would
drop and they would profit with enough time to cover, or they are making a horrible mistake by hanging on while on the heels of DJI news and the Anshan deal pending (and any other piece of news). There is no way to know
until the next short report if this was a short term bet or a long term mistake.
Most importantly, I have brought it up to managements attention. Would
really like to see shorts get burned in the next couple months.
The 2.50 calls for what month?
I think the best way to play this might be the $2.50 calls...
True! I haven't loaded a lot yet so I will average down next week to try for a 2.00-2.08 average. We might dip below the 2's next week.
You were right between 2 and 2.10 was the buying target. I did not watch the action today. It must not have been much of a wall at 2.10. I think the wall will form at 2.05 and 2.00. People who bought on that huge volume day are confused and do not know what hit them and some are getting out. Until we report increase in revenue and of course the financing we will not hold the gains.
I will be watching for another buy today. Great buy @ 2.12
I got my 700 shares. Amazingly 2.12 is the same price where I got 3k before q4 announcement and before they set a date to release the results. Between 7 and 10 days from now we will get the date for the release of the q1 result and that is when HPJ will firm up. There was a lot of support in the 2.15-2.18 area and the wall of 2.15 finally broke on the 3rd wave of selling. I have another money coming in 2 weeks and I do not think I will be able to buy under 2.20 so close to earning time. GLTA.
Yes, Martik is right. In 2014 there were a lot of press releases. I was clicking on Corporate events. It looks like I came close to getting my shares at 2.13. There was a lot of bids at 2.16 and more at 2.15 this morning. People were prepared that HPJ might drop to this level. Usually when 2.20 breaks the next stop is 2.15 - 2.16 and the next one is 2.10 - 2.11 since we broke 2.15 early in the morning.
Fred,
I feel like you are not very internet savvy...
I am going to send you a personal email to show you how bad your searching skills are.
Martik:
Before typing my post I checked the HPJ website and there were only 4 announcements in 2014. They won an award, they made a speech, they announced the corporate result and they announced that they entered the EV market in 2014. (don't blame me if their website is incomplete)
I started investing in 2014 in the 6 dollars + when the rumors were flying that we have an office in front of Tesla in Fremont, CA and they needed batteries.
You have been saying for about 6 months or more and I have repeated it to death that we will get an ESS distributor soon. Now you are saying a deal next week maybe or supplying batteries for Hewlett Packard or Gopro potential new customer.
At this point the basic fact is that we have a company that is in the right field but lacks capital. The deals will be announced when they happen and GLTA.
a history? absolutely not true, go and check out all the press releases they announced in 2014
Unless HPJ is changing philosophy they have a history of not making any announcement. It is like pulling teeth. If they were tooting their horn once in a while we would be higher than 2.21 now.
I think we may see another announcement in the next 10 days.
Great and good luck. Now wait for the CC in about 3 weeks. Lately the volume is high. I would call it aftershock effect. The last PR put us in play where a lot of people bought and now are averaging down or covering their shorts or a lot of people are just getting out. I think I have 10 days to get my shares. No rush since I have plenty.
Is GoPro our next customer?
During my visit to Highpower facilities, the secretary mentioned to me that they are working on gaining GoPro as a customer. GoPro is launching their Drone in Q2 this year most likely. Highpower management has mentioned that they have material deals to announce in Q2. All signs point to a deal with GoPro.
Added some below 2.20 area :)
Now that we broke 2.20. Will we break 2.15? there is a bid of 3k for 2.16
I think Anshan is committed with the offer. They made it when HPJ was in the low 2's. They believe it is a good investment regardless of HPJ low price. The question is if HPJ will accept all the terms. I am trying to raise another 1500 in the next 10 days. Like they say in poker "I am pot stuck". Too much money invested to leave the hand.
Yes I plan on getting back in real soon
Management would be smart to announce another deal or two prior to ER and CC. Stock should be propped up a bit so that Anshan deal works out better for the investor group.
Today we broke 2.22. So, I placed a gtc buy for 700 shares at 2.13. You never know with HPJ. I think you need to get in before they announce the date of the Q1 report. At most 10 days. After the CC who knows what will happen.? Either high 2's or below 2's. Honestly, last report was disappointing with us making only 1 penny because labor cost went up and the regular batteries price falling.
133,126 is the new short figure as of 03/31. I suspect it is much higher now with all the volume from the latest PR. I suspect they will sustain us until the next CC in about 3 weeks from today.
I think you have about 10 days to get back in. I would split my funds in 2 piles. ONE IN the 2.20 area and one in the 2.10 area. However you need to put your bid there and leave it. As you can see we dipped in the 2.24 area today and rebounded. I have no doubt some investors will get tired of HPJ and sell because it was a bad TRADE for them. Not willing to wait. On a 100+ down day you might get them. Good luck.
I was thinking $2-2.10 since the news wasn't huge but who knows. Waiting and watching for sure.
$HPJ
It looks like it would be nice to get back in the 2.20 area. We only broke it one day. What price are you thinking to get back in?
Only if we get the 98 mill. VC investment we will see a measurable improvement in HPJ. I see a 400% price improvement from today's price in 3 years. I will raise some more money to buy on further dips. The next best thing is to sell on spikes and buy more when it retrenches.
Nice holdings I wish I had those shares! They will payoff nicely soon enough!
$HPJ
I would have only sold 2k out of my 39k shares. You are right about long term investment. I am waiting for the 98 millions investment which will drive revenues to 500 millions (the building capacity). This drone deal should be small since we are one of many suppliers. I will be surprised if it will add more than 1 to 2 % to their revenue. The important thing is the margin that this job is being done at. Since their labor cost went up, I hope the automation helps. There are about 30 steps to make a lithium battery.
Man sorry that you couldn't sell shares. I sold and will renter once again but this does look good long term. Nice news today indeed.
$HPJ
133,126 is the short figure as of 03/31. My guess is that the figure is much much higher now with today's move. Guessing that they will be covering in the low 2's. I would venture that a lot of new investors are already down 10 to 15% average....I walk up late to sell some of my shares bought under 2 dollars.
Nice day indeed Mr. McDuck
Nice day indeed holding on for more $
$HPJ
I bought a lot @ 1.78 holding and adding on dips but I believe we will be over the $2 mark soon maybe by this Friday. Financing deal would be a plus but I'm happy seeing the 20-30% increase.
$HPJ
Last week I bought some at 1.74, 1.77, 1.82 and 1.86. These are my cheapest purchases yet. 6 months from now and beyond this could be a great move (100% up) or the risk is v. small (20-30% risk) if we do not close that financing.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA and SHENZHEN, CHINA--(Marketwired - Feb 25, 2014) - Highpower International, Inc. (
Highpower will deliver to Huizhou Yipeng two formats of product including16 ampere hour and 20 ampere hour NCM [Li(NiCoMn)O2] lithium polymer batteries that have passed the quality test from China National Quality Center (CNQC) and Huizhou Yipeng. These batteries will be used in some of China's well-known brands of hybrid electric buses and plug-in hybrid electric buses. It is estimated that each hybrid electric bus will be using 96 of 16-ampere-hour battery while each plug-in hybrid electric bus will use 288 of 20-ampere-hour battery. Highpower expects sales to Huizhou Yipeng will range between $4 million and $5 million during fiscal year 2014.
Mr. George Pan, Chairman and CEO of Highpower International, commented, "This order represents a significant milestone for Highpower, as we now have expanded our target market from the traditional consumer electronics market into the rapidly growing electric vehicles segment. We are also pleased to have teamed up with a great customer in the EV market. The founder of Huizhou Yipeng, who worked for the Ministry of Transportation for many years, has not only accumulated deep knowledge and understanding of the national EV policy, but is also extremely resourceful in the EV industry. Many key members of Huizhou Yipeng's technical team, most notably in its battery management system (BMS), have years of prior R&D and business development experiences with global auto companies such as General Motor, Ford, Eaton Corp and ZF. By collaborating with Huizhou Yipeng, we expect to fast track our penetration into the EV market."
Mr. Pan continued, "In 2008 and 2010, we supplied a small test quantity of rechargeable lithium polymer batteries to be used on some electric buses for the Beijing Olympic Games and the Shanghai World Expo. Building on this experience, over the past few years we have strengthened our R&D efforts in battery technology and new material, accumulated extensive technical know-how, and improved production capabilities on rechargeable lithium batteries. In conjunction with the ramping up of our new lithium battery factory in Huizhou, we believe now is the appropriate time for us to evolve, penetrate and capitalize on the electric transportation space and meet tremendous demand for advanced lithium battery products from the fast-emerging EV market. The Chinese Government is highly committed to the EV market with the "Energy Saving and New Energy Car Industry Development Plan" aiming to increase annual production of pure EV and plug-in hybrid EVs to 500,000 by 2015 and over 5 million by 2020."
"We are confident that Highpower is on the right track to diversify our rechargeable battery businesses from not only consumer electronics but also to the electrical transportation and industrial energy storage markets, ultimately becoming a global leader in every aspect of rechargeable battery applications, including recycling, processing and reusing," concluded Mr. Pan.

"I frequently get questioned about the risk of investing in a Chinese company. I usually point out the fact that HPJ is only listed on the NASDAQ exchange and as such is under the same regulatory, accounting, and auditing requirements as is any other NASDAQ listed stock. You can find a list of all of HPJ's SEC filings here."
