Halo acquires Dissolve Medical

Pot taxes surpass alcohol taxes in legalization states
Most states that have legalized marijuana for recreational consumption now take in more tax revenue from pot sales than from alcohol sales, according to a new analysis.
California’s fast-growing legal marijuana market generated $832 million in excise taxes, about twice as much as from alcohol sales. Marijuana revenues in Colorado generated $396 million for the state, almost eight times as much as alcohol taxes.
What a disaster.
Next time it will be easier for shareholders to listen instead of talking.. hopefully.
Writing was on the wall a long time ago.

Question. Will Akanda survive if Halo/HCANF goes out of business?
AKAN seems to be the future more than HCANF. But I'm unclear if AKAN is able to stand on its own.
So, if HCANF is required for AKAN to stand, will HCANF ever come back as a company? Or will it only exist as a shell, necessary to the functioning of AKAN?
More dire news for this worthless POS.
We now own a ranch costing us thousands in taxes and maintenance every year but not generating a cent in revenue.
Marijuana farmers in California are now receiving the lowest price for their crop since cannabis was legalized in 2018
Cannabis Benchmarks said the price received by farmers for their cannabis not only hit the lowest levels since pot became legal in January 2018, but the lowest since 2015 when the firm began analyzing the pricing of the medical marijuana marketplace.
The average $806 a pound California farmers received last week was down from $1,581 a pound at the end of October 2020.
Outdoor growers, which predominate in places like Mendocino County and Humboldt County, known as the Emerald Triangle, did worse.
They were fetching an average of $477 a pound, last week, shows the Cannabis Benchmark data, down from $1,074 a pound, in October 2020, a more than 55 percent drop.
Koh said it’s not uncommon for outdoor growers in California to receive as low as $250 to $300 a pound.
Thinking of finally dipping a toe in the investing pool and buying ONE SHARE of something?
Posted last month - old news, same lies.
If you'd seen Bernie Madoff in person would you have soft spot for him? Maybe attended his funeral and tossed flowers in his grave?
This company has repeatedly deceived and defrauded investors.
I wouldn't give a F if the CEO had come to my wedding, I have no soft spot for these scumbag fraudsters.
Are we at trip zeros yet?
Its coming.. pre & post R/S.

Has this been posted already? If so my apologies, I just want to contribute to the info. I have always had a soft spot for this company. I saw Kiran’s pitch in person in Toronto. They have done lots of things over the years. I would love to see something stick! Just FYI. Not sure if it hurts or helps but info is always good.
My hope is that Halo will finally pick a business model and stay with it. There is incredible potential in California since even tho it is the state with the most people I think less than 1/2 the counties permit sales of legal products. Once they get the legislation straightened out the industry has a great future. It is staying in business till then that is the big challenge. The dispensaries will do okay and hopefully the patience of the investors will be rewarded..
Halo announces planned opening for second Budega in California
Budega Westwood Dispensary passed its Los Angeles inspection and is expected to open within 30 days.
On Friday, March 31, 2022, Budega Westwood successfully passed the local Department of Cannabis Regulation final site inspection and has been approved to proceed with the final state license review citing no violations.
Massachusetts weed sucks, say consumers.
“It’s garbage,” Warren Lynch, a 47-year-old Malden resident and longtime cannabis connoisseur, said of the marijuana flower on offer at licensed stores in Massachusetts. “The market here is dominated by nasty corporate schwag” — a derisive term that enthusiasts reserve for the lowest quality pot.
Lynch is one of several dozen consumers and medical marijuana patients who shared their impressions of the quality, variety, and value of cannabis products sold legally in Massachusetts.
“People from other states don’t want our weed when they visit,” said Chandra Batra, a Cambridge resident who uses the drug to treat her fibromyalgia. “They think it’s a bad joke.”

Budega #2 opening soon...ish?

This is interesting and alarming.
A hotel was slated to be built on the location now occupied by Budega, and construction was expected to begin this year. Since Budega's permits were recently issued, I assume the project was shelved. But other developers may be eying that location and even with a lease Halo may opt to sell that store at a premium.
I've been studying maps and the Budega location is a prime development spot. As far as you can see down that side of the road are newer hi-rises. And then you have the building at 5041 Lankershim that is Budega (behind the white truck - image shot before Budega was built).
The other side of the street is run-down and in need of development - everything seems to be getting built on the west side thus far.
This is how Budega looks now. What a horrific sight! (love the STD sign on the bench ). What demented mind devised that artwork? I'll bet the locals are praying for a new hotel to raze that monstrosity!

A hotel could rise on Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood.
Agoura Hills–based developer Napa Industries filed plans late last week for the 171-room project, according to Urbanize. It is slated for 5041-5057 North Lankershim Boulevard at the corner of Hesby Street.

Once approved, the hotel development will occur over a roughly two-year period starting in 2022 and concluding in 2024. The project site is located at the northwest corner of Lankershim Boulevard and Hesby Street.

Dispensaries might be a good in the long run, but in the meantime we spent 11.5 million to open just ONE.
And now that NoHo is open and selling, more dilution comes into play (it's a drop in the bucket, but the bucket is overflowing).
The Halo common shares for C&B will only be issued upon the completion of two pre-determined performance milestones:
1. 3,216,124 Halo common shares when LKJ11 is licensed by all applicable state and local regulatory agencies and the first legal sale of cannabis is made; and
2. 3,216,123 Halo common shares when LKJ11 is granted a lease extension for an aggregate of 5 years or a new location lease for a term of at least 5 years from the closing date.
the AKAN NICHE--halo just has to do better than the others in their diverse directions---dispeneries look to be a good play---and pot prices on the mend?? the good stuff will always have a buyer! wonder how our sway bev. ipo is going??--tmonkey
What niche?
What is it you think Halo does that few others are doing? They aren't even growing their own weed in California or Canada! (ditto for Africa, but that's Akanda's problem now).
They're sinking in Oregon and treading water in Calif. Their entire future is dependent on revenue from dispensaries that don't exist yet.
Halo is a small boat in the vast sea of the pot sector. There are larger, more valuable ships with considerably better captains on this sea with the ability to destroy or take control of Halo's boat any time they wish.
Even the 'shroom market isn't really niche anymore, and R.L.H didn't even make it onto most lists of top Psychedelics stocks this year:

As for Akanda, Bophelo's not the largest grower in Africa.
Nor were they the first in Lesotho to receive a license to sell medical cannabis to the EU. That honor belongs to MG Health, who bested Bophelo by four months.
Reuters - April 15, 2021
MG Health chief executive Andre Bothma said the firm had received certification to export cannabis flower as an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) under the EU's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) protocol.
"What this means is that we have authorisation to export our products as an API into Germany and the wider European market. We expect to start in June," he said on the sidelines of a media event with his Munich-based import partner, Drapalin Pharmaceuticals.
Launched in 2017, MG Health has its cultivation and modern processing facilities at a secluded location some 2,000 metres above sea-level in mountainous Lesotho, which is completely surrounded by South Africa.
Besides the EU and Germany, Bothma said they also planned to enter the UK and Australian markets.
"Our contract is for a minimum of two tonnes for the first year," Bothma said.
Curaleaf facing maximum fine and suspension in Oregon for major CBD/THC f-up.
Oregon regulators want to suspend the license of marijuana giant Curaleaf for 70 days and issue an unprecedented $200,000 fine after the company confused batches of marijuana with those containing CBD wellness drops.

Another day, another Oregon illegal grow busted.
GLENDALE, Ore. (AP) — One person was arrested and more than 18,000 marijuana plants were seized at three warehouses next to a high school in southwest Oregon, according to the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team.
The narcotics team said in a news release Friday that detectives executed a search warrant at the warehouses in Glendale Thursday after smelling marijuana and seeing a high volume of people and materials coming and going.
Detectives found a Medford man hiding in one building and discovered a substantial illegal marijuana growing operation with plants in all stages of growth, along with about 4,100 pounds of processed pot, the news release said.
A large volume of lighting equipment, water and air filtration systems were found along with hundreds of fans and timers, monitoring equipment and pesticides, according to the narcotics team.
Eduardo Hernandez-Reyes was arrested and take n to Douglas County jail on suspicion of unlawful possession, manufacture of marijuana and manufacture of marijuana near a school. It wasn't immediately known if he has a lawyer to comment on the case.
In the years since Oregon voters passed a ballot measure legalizing the recreational use of marijuana and its regulated cultivation and sale, the state has been grappling with illegal marijuana farms mainly in the south.
The Oregon Legislature last year dedicated $25 million to help police, sheriff’s offices and community organizations pay for the ballooning costs of cracking down on the industrial-scale farms.
its all called perception of the future-it drives alot of companies instead of real earnings---the niche of this one allows for a nice play----if they ever become that multi supra goldmine-who knows??seems like halo is getting a bid now again---an akan connection??---my low entry here is no .2344-----axed a third of my akan in the 10s on the way dn ---now i want my spin-offs!!!!!gimmee -gimmee -gimmee!---tmonkey
Akanda is worth no more today than yesterday, despite its unwarranted surge.
There's been no news or revenue that makes it worth more or less from one day to the next.
Boustead Securities priced the offering at $4 because their thorough research determined that's what the shares are worth right now. They didn't intentionally underprice the offering by 50% (16 million dollars).
It receded back a quite bit this pm (almost down to $8), but recovered 40¢ before the close.
Income from Akanda is as fictional as its namesake; they haven't even planted a crop yet!
A buck or two from this venture isn't enough to save me from this sea of red ink - that's like tossing me a marshmallow as a life preserver.
I don't believe the story that Canadian shops are "making money" either. Not long ago they were losing money, now suddenly they're generating so much revenue that Ryan wants to open more?
akan falling back a bit but finally buyers showing up here----maybe people doing the trade i talked about---i did for a third of mine but took under 11 for them on the way lower-made 3$ a share--wild hold balanse to the 20s---tmonkey
akan over 11 now-a bit more and ill move my under 8 position into halo still praying we are not to be screwed out of our spinn off shares when they are off restriction!!--value of halo stake is completely forgotten here--and we have the other spin-offs in the mean time!--tmonkey
AKAN TRADING OVER 10 PPS-yet people dont see the connection to this ticker!!when we play catch up we will be over a buck here---have no idea when but if akan keeps going sooner or later this must profit from our 0ver 12 mill shares -if we will ever get our promised spinn -off AKAN shares is another unanswered ?---tmonkey
its unclear who had or sld the 4$ shares but if the company sld they have a monster warchest and are even more undervalued--the volume was huge the first day!-i want my piece of the promised spin-off but dont trust inky to deliver--and he doesnt use money better than a drug addict---tmonkey
Even $2 from AKAN doesn't excite me - that wouldn't make me whole.
Does AKAN only get the $4 per share IPO price, or do they benefit from the $10+ trades as well, meaning more $$$ should be coming our way (in theory).
Were the higher prices all secondary buys (from one trader to another), or did AKAN actually sell some of the 4M shares for $30?
They claim they only made $16M, so it doesn't look like they benefited at all from higher-than-expected prices.
Do you think there's an official time limit on distribution of those funds to Halo shareholders?
It's now a full week since the quiet period expired, and they haven't muttered a f'n word.
crypto-bump let me take more here-and i wasnt the only one buying eod yeaterday!!--avg now exactly 1.35----halo tek or beverage spin of date will get us at least there----akanda is still our big fish but will we ever see our promised shares---9 mo gives inky alot of time to forget!!!---despenseries will keep us afloat imo---i may be sorry???-but 1.35 will sure be more obtainable than 4$$$$-----tmonkey

Deep doubts on legal marijuana remain in GOP
The vast majority of House Republicans on Friday are expected to vote against a bill ending the federal prohibition on marijuana, underscoring the deep reservations that remain in the GOP over its use and allowing it to become widely available even as support for legalization grows.
The legislation is not expected to pass the Senate, where it would need support from at least 10 Republicans, though Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) is helping to shape a different cannabis legalization bill.
This is no April Fool's joke.
Beginning April 1, 2022, edibles sold through Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC) licensed stores can now contain packages up to 100mg THC and 10mg THC per serving. The previous limit was 50mg THC per package and 5mg per serving. Under OLCC rules, edibles containing the lower THC amounts remain available for sale. The change aligns with the potency allowances of most other states allowing the sale of adult-use cannabis.
To date, the OLCC has approved labels for 30 products containing 100mg edibles, including chocolate bars, cookies, cereal bars and gummies
