I agree the delinquent SEC ones who aren’t active on the state level will get revoked/delisted but the “dark or defunct” tickers that are OTCM reporters should be fine and transition to Pink Limited status

Not enough info yet to say how it will turn out, we can only speculate. Certainly the dollar volume dropped off significantly after the amendments to Rule 15c2-11 went into effect. However, Covid played a big role in OTC trading boom of 2020/2021....and then 2023 saw a very, very steep decline, like 1/2 the dollar volume of 2021.. but... a lot of factors played a role there, not just the Expert Market trading restrictions and amendments to Rule 15c2-11. Inflation and more people going back to work, rather than working from home had a huge impact.

I'm going to predict that a large number of EM and Grey tickers will be purged through revocations and FINRA symbol deletions leading up to July 2025. The EM will be eliminated, whatever is left will become Pink Limited and any future delinquent filers will have 1 or 1/2 years before being revoked. In the meantime though, we should have a broker willing to let us trade them, much like the Pink No Info('stop sign' tickers). If so, I'll be taking a flyer on some of those for sure. Just like the old days, looking for unusual volume spikes on those, for possible clues to a social media pump or the stock coming back to life....or just trying to catch bidwhacks before going to Pink Limited, or on Pink Limited, in the hopes they will come back.

It's just a matter of time when major brokerages open up trading on any tier OTC stock. People should be allowed to do what they want to do with their own money and that involves taking a gamble in a OTC Security. I try to keep up on the changing OTC rules to take advantage of the undervalued idle tickers.

That's what I'm getting as well, OTCM is basically saying that if there is a demand for the stock, folks should be able to trade it, current or not, as there is enough information on their website to identify it as a risk. Which I agree with 100%, Expert Market is complete BS.

Big question is will the brokers open up trading on all Pink Limited, which ever broker does, that's where I'm going because Schwab is shit for Pink Limited tickers. Schwab sucks for new issue as well, much worse than TDA, its getting on my nerves, they add the ticker symbols to the database but not the CUSIP's, so you can't trade many of them.

Correct. ADSV Just needs filing to OTC Markets to resume quotes on OTC Link. So it's not dead until it is considered Inactive Security by FINRA logic. You're good for another 12 months

OTCM seems like they want them to trade again like the old "Stop Sign" stocks. Some of those were the biggest runners. Just avoid SEC delinquent for now. Alt Reporting will be hot in 2025, imo

ADSV It had a trade on 7/11/2024.

It's Alt Reporting, so it can and will exist as long as there is a trade within 365 days. If not, FINRA has logic to delete.

It sounds like EM tickers will still exist per FINRA logic, they either face SEC Revocation if SEC registered, or get FINRA delete if they are idle for a given period (no trades). It's usually 365 days.

Quite an interesting find. OTCM seems to want more trading to occur for OTC securities. I agree.

One of mine got revoked last year, HLWD, it was less than 2 years delinquent in their filings. I believe their last Q was December 2021 and got revoked in Sep 2023, lost everything there.

There is always a danger in them being revoked when they go severely delinquent in their filings. There does not appear to be any rhyme or reason to who they choose, you might see them revoke one that has not had any filing since 2021 but one that has not had any filings since 2005 still trades. :shrugs:

So you’re saying the sec is looking at removing registrations meaning if they don’t do anything they will be delisted? I have been holding quite a bit of shares in an expert market company for years, and just now got ahold of ceo and said sometime next year he plans on filing etc. I hope I don’t lose everything if they get delisted

Hard to say, its appears as though they would become Pink Limited, as there would be no Expert Market any longer, however, the SEC could also do some serious house cleaning before that time (July 2025), so there may not be many, if any, left. It actually looks like they are starting to pick up the pace here recently, revoking registrations and beginning the proceedings to revoke them, so that timing may not be a coincidence.

I'm guessing it will become a more streamlined process, where there wont be so many zombie tickers trading for years.

I thought this was interesting, it sounds like the Expert Market is being eliminated. Tickers that would typically be considered for Expert, that don't have current info, will now be considered Pink Limited... and.... Pink Current tickers will be OTCID.

Now lets see what the brokers do. Right now Pink Limited is hit and miss, at least with Schwab, sometimes you can trade them and sometimes you can't. I don't know about other mainstream brokers but if they allow Pink Limited trading, this would open up Expert Market tickers for trading again and could see more folks moving to that broker.

Charles Schwab is the last to allow me to buy expert to pink - it will be after noon before these dirtbags will allow it - I think they try to frontload before they allow customers to buy "new" issues. Etrades throws the trade right into the mix of my orders.
