WHats up all you Football junkies. Lets talk Packer football...
First topic. Our Qb. I got him ranked #1 in the league. Due to his legs. He's a dual threat like Romo is. And with the TE Finnley becoming a true defense buster. I think our two pro-bowl WR will be second priority.... Cha-Ching!... Enter James Jones, and Jordy Nelson... Nickle and Dime backs are going to be out classed at every stage of the game... I also am looking forward to seeing the rookie TE Quarles in action. Apparently he's an exceptional athelete and Tallent, like Finnley was coming out of college. But he's a bigger bodied TE. And can become a Jason Witten type player IMO. A great TE combo.... Kinda like the super bowl years...
I am also looking forward to the 6th round rookie RB Starks. A 1st round tallent before he needed shoulder surgery, and missed his whole senior year. 6'2 218. He has a good frame. He has a long stride too. So he is much faster than his 40 time shows... He started as a QB, and converted to CB. Then Became a RB in college. Anyways........ Back to the point. He apparently ( I read) has the best hand out of all the Rbs in the draft. Exceptional pass catcher... They even went so far to say that he is a better pass catcher than most WRs in the draft..... I'm already high on Brandon Jackson. Who's evolved into a great young 5'10" 220 pound RB. A 3rd down master.... BUT..... Starks could be a serious contributor. IMHO. If not this year,,, next year.
Besides the skill positions. Our O-line is becoming a deep group. Bulaga is a true blue chip guy. And I'd love to see him take over LG til Clifton retires, or gets hurt... Newhouse is ANOTHER mid-round sleeper find of TTs. Sitton ready to be a pro-bowler at RG IMO. Lang should be better in his 2nd year. And he was good as a rookie last year IMO... Wells and Spitz were allowed to add some weight also. And both seem to make a good competing pair of guys who keep their level of play high...And Tauscher a year off his knee surgery, should return to his pro-bowl(ish) form...
All this leads to Rodgers having more time. And a power running game that will keep defenses honest...
I have been making predictions of Rodgers stats the last 2 years. And I've been ridiculed for them badly. And the truth is. Rodgers exceded all my predictions... He has shown to get consistantly better every year... And Until I see the trend change. I expect him to be better this year... Because of the above mentioned reasons...
Rodgers stats. 4800 yds. 38 TDs 7 Ints. Passing........Another 350 yds , 4 TDs, and 2 fumbles...
Grand total of 5250 yds, 42 TDs against 9 Turnovers...
You heard it here first...
Oh. And MVP of the league.
