Thank Toyota for those change of plans
I really don’t know, took a while for the Cyber Truck to roll out there could have been test being performed on the truck to see if they were going to progress and that probably blew up on them and then resorted back to original design.

SODIUM-ION BATTERY PRINCIPAL PRODUCTION METHOD
Today, lithium-ion battery production equipment is mainly divided into front-end equipment covering the electrode production process, mid-end equipment covering the cell assembly process, and back-end equipment covering battery cell activation and formation, capacity separation detection, and assembly into battery packs. The manufacturing process and equipment of sodium-ion batteries is compatible with lithium-ion batteries, where only slight equipment upgrades are needed to be used in the production of sodium-ion batteries, and therefore the equipment cash cost that needs to be invested is considerably low.
Production of a sodium-ion battery is similar to that of lithium-ion battery, which mainly includes pole piece manufacturing (cathode, anode, stirring, slurry-drying-coating) and battery assembly (rolling-die-cutting-winding/stacking). The main difference is that sodium-ion batteries can use aluminium foil as the anode current collector, so the cathode and anode can use the same aluminium tabs and related processes such as tab welding. The packaging form of sodium-ion batteries is similar to that of lithium-ion batteries, and can be divided into three categories: cylinder, soft package, and square hard case.
On the whole, an existing lithium-ion battery assembly line can be used to produce sodium-ion batteries with a slight modification, and the replacement cost of developing a sodium-ion battery production line is very low.

IT HAPPENED! Toyota FINALLY Reveals New Solid State Battery 2024!
Toyota is getting ready to reveal a "game-changing'' solid-state battery electric vehicle. According to its phenomenal data, it has a range of 500 miles and can fully recharge in just ten minutes. According to the Japanese financial newspaper Nikkei, the Japanese automaker Toyota is planning to introduce a groundbreaking solid-state battery as early as next year.
Future electric vehicles might be able to go more than 500 miles on a single charge and recharge fully in about ten minutes thanks to such technology. If this technology is successful, it will be far superior to its rivals. And so stay tuned as we take a look at this revolutionary battery.
The Holy Grail of battery technology for electric cars is said to be solid-state batteries. As opposed to conventional lithium-ion batteries, they are lighter, more durable, and more stable. The electric car market may experience a paradigm shift as a result of Toyota's active involvement in the fierce rivalry for solid-state batteries.
The future of electric automobiles may change dramatically if Toyota is successful in mass-producing a solid-state battery that lives up to the expectations.
When will these revolutionary batteries be used in electric vehicles? According to Nikkei, Toyota is planning to launch a prototype next year, possibly becoming the first automaker to display a vehicle powered by a solid-state battery. If everything goes according to plan, solid-state batteries in electric cars could be seen as early as 2024.
But here’s the catch, Toyota’s solid state battery won’t be for its fully electric vehicles…the automaker wants to slap the game-changing battery into a hybrid vehicle.
And so, what’s the exact plan? Let’s find out!
Solid-state batteries are the ultimate objective of battery technologies, and Toyota is only one of several automakers and other businesses vying for them. We'll see such a battery from the manufacturer by 2024, according to comments made by Gill Pratt, Toyota's chief scientist and the chairman of the Toyota Research Institute.
Toyota, however, does not intend to use the battery to manufacture an EV.
However, Pratt said in a report published on Thursday that it would pack the solid-state battery into a hybrid car. The combination of an internal combustion engine and a solid-state battery is real. Although it may seem strange, Pratt said there is good logic behind it: Lithium-ion batteries aren't even close to being priced on par with internal combustion engines, let alone solid-state batteries. In order to keep the price of a production car low while yet achieving the benefits of such a battery, hybrid technology is being combined with it.
Likewise Toyota will learn a lot from using solid-state technology in a hybrid before it uses batteries in fully electric vehicles. The batteries operate differently from lithium-ion batteries in terms of how they charge and discharge, according to Pratt. Prior to investing too much in a solid-state battery-powered EV, hybrids will offer the automaker the ideal test for the technology.
Toyota as a company has already stated that it wants to investigate this battery type with a hybrid application first. More specifically, it stated that "one of the reasons Toyota is starting with HEVs is because it wants to introduce solid-state batteries to the market as soon as possible, gain customer feedback, and continue to evolve them."
We must not lose sight of the fact that, in the broad scope of things, this is a very ambitious timetable for the technology. Engineers have been unable to produce solid-state batteries at a sufficient scale or at a reasonable cost for many years.
In all the punture test I have seen, none have been spayed with water. In the real world an accident could happen in the rain or fire department spaying with water.
Do you know what happends to a puntured SSB that was wetted during or after the punture?

Dragonfly Energy and Ioneer Sign Lithium Supply Agreement
7:30 am ET May 9, 2023 (Globe Newswire)
Partnership Strengthens Domestic Supply ChainGlobeNewswireMay 09, 2023
The agreement moves Dragonfly Energy closer to achieving the Company's mission of establishing a vertically integrated lithium battery cycle, from mining to production to recycling
Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo states the importance of partnerships like those between Dragonfly Energy and Ioneer are vital to strengthening and diversifying Nevada economy
Agreement advances Nevada production and manufacturing of critical minerals and accelerates domestic electrification pipeline for Lithium battery components
RENO, Nev., May 09, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dragonfly Energy Holdings Corp. ("Dragonfly" or the "Company") (Nasdaq: DFLI), an industry leader in energy storage, and Ioneer Ltd. ("Ioneer") (Nasdaq: IONR, ASX: INR), an emerging lithium-boron producer, today announced a commercial offtake agreement that the Company believes will strengthen U.S. battery supply chains and invest in the production and manufacturing of Nevada-sourced lithium. The agreement between the two Nevada-based companies is expected to pave the way for continued investment in the state and provide Dragonfly with a domestic supply of lithium carbonate, a critical component in lithium iron phosphate battery cells.
The agreement builds on an effort to produce, utilize and recycle lithium, closing the lithium loop in Nevada that Gov. Joe Lombardo has prioritized for his administration, detailed in both his recent State of the State address and his Five Year Strategic Plan.
"This agreement between Dragonfly Energy and Ioneer, and hopefully more like it in the future, are vital to our economy as we work to develop this new industry, secure Nevada's energy independence and close the lithium loop," said Nevada Governor Lombardo. "In the future, we hope to see more Nevada companies creating innovative partnerships like this one, which will help strengthen our economy and demonstrate how Nevada is the lithium capital of North America."
"Deploying our innovative dry powder coating cell manufacturing process is exciting. But ultimately, cell production is only made possible by access to lithium," Dr. Denis Phares, CEO of Dragonfly Energy, said. "This agreement gives us the opportunity to bring our entire manufacturing process not only to the U.S. but to Nevada, from mining to manufacturing to recycling ."
"As the world's demand for lithium in electric vehicle and energy storage increases, the need to secure a reliable and domestic source of lithium is critical. Ioneer is pleased to partner with Dragonfly and deliver these critical materials from Rhyolite Ridge," said Bernard Rowe, managing director and CEO at Ioneer.
The agreement demonstrates Ioneer's tremendous value to the American supply chain. Rhyolite Ridge is one of the most sophisticated undeveloped U.S. lithium projects, and one of few in the world where lithium will be extracted and refined locally. Once federal permitting and construction is complete, Rhyolite Ridge is expected to quadruple current U.S. lithium output. The agreement also moves Dragonfly Energy closer to achieving the company's mission of establishing a vertically integrated lithium battery cycle, from mining to cell and pack production to recycling.
Dragonfly Energy has quickly become an industry leader in lithium-ion battery technology due to numerous patents and alignment with some of the industry's leading consumer brands. The Company assembles lithium-ion battery packs in Nevada today through its popular Battle Born Batteries brand. Dragonfly Energy also believes it is leading the way with its research and development team that has developed patented manufacturing processes and technologies that will be deployed as the company looks to launch its pilot line for nonflammable lithium battery cell production later this year.

Decarbonizing Minerals and Metals

Former clients and #lithium friends have asked me why I've been so quiet recently...
After a couple years of consulting for an incredible portfolio of clients including Livent, Tesla, Northvolt, Our Next Energy (ONE), and so many other rock star builders, a new technology development project took me over that I could not resist.
Specifically, a project with Jacob Brown who became an insta-best friend when he moved to San Francisco 3 years ago to build the cathode pilot for Tesla's cell program. Our journeys were weirdly similar: both making our ways out of Anglosphere mining colonies (him from Australia, me from Canada) to work on carbon conversion in "real countries" (him at University of Cambridge in the UK, me at Northwestern University in the US), and then both ending up in the battery material supply chain after realizing carbon just ain't it. Last year we rotated out of lithium and batteries at the peak of a lithium battery hype boom to solve an unexamined, severe critical mineral problem with radical environmental and national security implications.
More details soon. And no, it has nothing to do with #boron! Sorry.
