??? Genco's business is solid and all corps have ongoing debt and is nothing new. There are so many options.
Just like what I watched with MTL and all the BK bashing and such online, then looking at their assets globally and business plan there, and NOW all top banks they have used recently approved a new syndicated $1 Billion credit line to them beyond the $500M they already have in place and even a one year tax free holiday to boot... and now overnight, MTL's supposed debt problems others bashed would be their end, now seems not a problem going forward as new financing vehicle is in place for them. Same could happen for GNK too as it has for others out there...
I held all mine... But experienced serious downside
Good job..... I have never found any concern in my past complaints... Hope they investigate
F.Y.I. I have submitted complaints this wk. to the SEC on various stocks. They will not attempt to investigate unless called to their attention.
I hope you held on to your shares. If the SEC wanted to really fix the market they would address the Free For All I'm seeing all over.
The US Treasury loosing $10B should give people a clue that nothings fixed.
As far as going after, there may be nothing left. They should infact try!
Investors/Traders should file complaints and back it up with specifics on what the see.
Agreed.....another case of planned bad news to lower the price and then buy up shares after a 50 cent rebound during one trading day ..... Hall of shame
I believe investors are concerned that the debt repurchase is part of a restructuring agreement where debtors take part or all of the equity. The alternative is that value of the debt is really 90% of the original issue amount. That seems a bit hard to believe. More likely Centerbridge would like to force GNK to give them an equity stake at a time that the shipping industry is clearly turning around.
??? NObody knows. No SEC filings shown either. Same thing happening to EGLE today premarket too... Volume is immense though and lost of negative shortselling bashers everywhere should indicate to SEC something is very wrong seeing this after last 3-4 days positive releases over GNK and such...
Seems SEC and others need to go after those "creditors" who sold to distressed investors...???
3 days back Baltic trading was touting their 40% gains in GNK alone in their portfolo. Some others came out saying they have initiated coverage of GNK...
Then premarket we see this???
I see. SEC needs to get into this and all the naked no wonder why the $3trillion cnbc keeps going on about on sidelines doesn't want to return to US stock markets or invest in stocks.... EGLE same thing to day premarket and at nornmal open. Charts are exact copy... , almost to percentage premarket, no reason or news, except hoards of negative bashing posters everywhere....
Funny, in last 3 days, positive reports out and especially the Baltic Trading one regarding 40% growth of GNK in their portfolio... Then the "new coverage of GNK reports out" ... Then this happens premarket???
GNK - Back to court Shorts having field day.. was. $1.31 on 5/13/13

Thanks I man.... Good luck!
$10.00 by Christmas possible....
There are many ways.
Will we see $10.00 by Christmas...?
They need to find a way to increase price per share!
For what it's worth, more institutionals hold GNK stock than DRYS... ABout 11% in DRYS and over 18% in GNK.
GNK's earnings were good and even ebat too. Typhoons and such being blamed for many shipping delays globally in 2013 overall.
Great holding large position
Baltic Trading just purchased 250,000 shares GNK SEC Form #4 11/18/2013
Institutionals increased overnight now from yesterday... What games they play to steal cheap shares and wipe out retails who use stops...
GNK's recent earnings were good and beat all analysts projections, whereas even DRYS fell short and others.
GNK better mamangement too IMO.
Wonder where this will be end of year?
Earnings beat, Insiders buying, GNK will do well forward-looking IMO...
Yes Real stocks go up and down not just up then down then flat for a year till the next pump comes around...
You had a nice call as did I on GNK truth be known I have been in and out of GNK for a long time just posted on this board to see who was following...

GNK Chart: Sweet move.....testing resistance........if it breaks GNK should continue to rally.......MACD Bullish Crossover,,.....Shippers are Hot!..........
GNK on break resistance radar.........$$$
Loving the action today..
Seen the PM action gave the heads up to some friends looking great for GNK.
Earnings call Nov 7th @ 8:30am EST. Institutional holdings increased on GNK now and DRYS Institutionals have reduced... Is this queer or not? I have long thought a "spread" of sorts was being done between DRYS & GNK, and with DRY's known problems and multiple dillutions, while GNK is healthy and shows insiders accumulation via SEC filings, GNK looks to be solid $10.00+ Just IMHO of course..
Wonde rif anyone else has seen this too?
I am looking at past charts of last few years and seeing where this has been at and may keep investing into his unitl $10.00 + range comes...
What is your reasoning? I am currently holding large position
Tia
Still see 10.00PPS at least by EOY on this one...

Financial results issued for Q2 July 31st after close of market. Conf call on August 1st at 8:30am.
She just broke and closed above resistance and many big hands already into this stock. I DO NOT think it will ever be bought below this level again... Those already invested should do well in coming months IMO, but others who wait for news and wait for analysts and other paid for manipulators to give their take, will be too late to profit at all... Just how I see it.
Technical flag/pennant formed; going much higher to test recent 52 week highs in $4.00's JMHO
I expect this ship to be on the move soon. All elements set into place already and they DO NOT have billions of fake shares on market like DRYS did with their 7 or more dillutions to shareholders....
GNK could be the Choice shipper to invest in now.
Almost 50% of public shares already owned by Institutions and seems to be basing at these levels...
Yup, Im watching it, wanna load some more tomorrow
Anyone out there watching GNK? Charts are looking very bullish - hammer formation, blowing through MAs on the daily and weekly charts, parabolic SAR bullish inversion...lock and load people.
GNK!
GNK!
GNK!!!
GNK good shipper, just stay away from DRYS whatever you do...
Lot of orders filled at 1.25 today....
Well, since transsports are becoming interest of funds lately, and looking at various shippers, GNK seems to be at an exceptional price and value, certainly over DRYS and EXM to name a few...
How right you are; how low can it go? Maybe a buck in a couple of days?
Bulk Shipping is recovering. GNK, EXM, EGLE running .. .. .

Genco Shipping & Trading Limited engages in the ocean transportation of drybulk cargoes worldwide through the ownership and operation of drybulk carrier vessels. It transports iron ore, coal, grain, steel products, and other drybulk cargoes. The company principally charters its vessels to trading houses, including commodities traders; producers; and government-owned entities. As of December 31, 2007, Genco Shipping owned a fleet of 28 drybulk carriers consisting of 5 Capesize, 6 Panamax, 3 Supramax, 6 Handymax, and 8 Handysize drybulk carriers, with an aggregate carrying capacity of approximately 2,020,000 deadweight tons. The company was founded in 2004 and is based in New York, New York.
At Genco Shipping & Trading Limited our Chairman and board of directors have substantial experience in the shipping industry.
Our management team is based in New York City and includes several executives with extensive experience in the shipping industry who have demonstrated substantial ability in managing the commercial, technical and financial aspects of our business.
We believe that we possess a number of strengths that provide us with a competitive advantage in the drybulk shipping industry.
We own a modern, high-quality fleet of drybulk carriers. We have a modern fleet consisting of vessels with an average age of 6.42 years as of June 30, 2008 as compared to the average age of approximately 15 years for the world fleet. We believe that owning a modern, high-quality fleet: reduces operating costs and fuel consumption; allows us to secure favorable financing terms by enabling lenders to feel secure with their collateral; makes our fleet more reliable by reducing the likelihood of breakdowns and off-hire; provides us with a competitive advantage in securing favorable time charters from charterers who prefer vessels that have greater fuel efficiency than older vessels and can serve with fewer interruptions due to breakdowns.
Our fleet includes six groups of sister ships. Sister ships can use similar spare parts, and their crews are interchangeable. We believe that maintaining a fleet that includes sister ships increases our revenue generating potential by improving our operational and scheduling flexibility and reduces costs by creating economies of scale in the maintenance, supply and crewing of our vessels. We also believe that having sister ships makes our fleet more attractive to time charterers because they can interchange cargoes among the sister ships.
We benefit from strong relationships with members of the shipping and financial industries. We have developed strong relationships with major international charterers, shipbuilders and financial institutions that we believe are the direct result of the quality and experience of our management team. In addition, we have developed a strong relationship with Wallem, an international vessel management company with over 35 years of experience that currently manages 211 vessels with a carrying capacity totaling in excess of 16 million dwt while meeting strict quality control standards. We currently contract with Wallem for the technical management of the vessels in our fleet. We believe that these relationships will lead to greater charter opportunities for our vessels.
We maintain commercial management of our fleet in-house, thereby benefiting from the substantial experience of our management team in the shipping industry while avoiding brokerage commissions to related parties. It also serves to prevent conflicts of interest because, unlike transactions involving brokers, our employees do not have a personal financial interest in the charter contracts.
Our Business Strategy
Our strategy is to manage and expand our fleet in a manner that enables us to pay dividends to our shareholders. To accomplish this objective, we intend to maintain a modern, high-quality fleet that meets or exceeds stringent industry standards and complies with charterer requirements that are required before a vessel owner can secure employment for its vessels. In addition, we intend to maintain the high quality of our existing fleet and subsequent acquisitions by maintaining, through our technical manager, a rigorous and comprehensive maintenance program, including supervision of our independent third party technical manager by our own staff. Additionally, our technical managers maintain the quality of our vessels by carrying out regular inspections, both while in port and at sea. We believe that this ongoing maintenance program can ultimately reduce periods of off-hire and increase revenues.
Pursue an appropriate balance of time and spot charters.
Maintain low-cost, highly efficient operations.
Capitalize on our management team's reputation for high standards of performance, reliability and safety.
