I think $20 an hour is reasonable when you realize you have to figure in overhead like workman's comp and liability insurance and hopefully health insurance. There is also a lot of talk about raising the minimum wage. It's a working figure.

Also the term "wheelchair pusher" seems denigrating. They have to make sure the person eats, gets dressed, gets meds, deal with temper tantrums. Sometimes they even have to administer injections and bandage swollen limbs. It is not an easy job.

Wallace is a member of the FL bar. Oops. And he was not representing his mother in litigation. He was not required to be a member of the Fl Bar to send a letter on her behalf to Leinwand. I assume Wallace was the family attorney and had every ethical and legal right to state that he was her lawyer.

And of course, the documents were not forgeries. If they were, Gouge would have objected. He never did. It was EIGHT years ago. marty is just now whining about it.

SHs don't care about a lawsuit eight years ago that spencer lost. They care about spencer who has a fiduciary duty to them, telling them the truth. We'll soon find out if he's lied again. If he has, whining about eight year old papers will not be a useful defense.

But Tesla said the driver activated autosteer, one of the Autopilot features, and no force was detected on the steering wheel for more than two minutes. If there's no force on the wheel or a sharp turn is detected, the vehicle is programmed to gradually reduce speed, stop and turn on the emergency lights, Tesla said in a statement.

The company said the Model X alerted the driver to put his hands on the wheel, but he didn't do it. "As road conditions became increasingly uncertain, the vehicle again alerted the driver to put his hands on the wheel. He did not do so and shortly thereafter the vehicle collided with a post on the edge of the roadway," the statement said.

It wasn't clear whether the Model X had made a decision to stop at the time of the crash.

Neither the driver nor the passenger was injured in the single-vehicle crash, but there was extensive damage to the passenger side and the car lost a wheel, Montana Highway Patrol trooper Jade Shope said.

The car negotiated a right curve and went off the road, traveling about 200 feet on the narrow shoulder, taking out 13 posts, Shope said.

The trooper did not cite the driver, saying he believed any citation would be voided because of the driver's claim that the car was on Autopilot.

The NHTSA investigation, opened June 28, could have broad implications for the auto industry and its path toward self-driving cars. If the probe finds defects with Tesla's system, the agency could seek a recall. Other automakers have or are developing similar systems that may need to be changed due to the probe, which also could affect self-driving car regulations to be unveiled this summer.

In the letter, NHTSA also asked Tesla for details on any modification to the Autopilot system that Tesla has made.

I think the reason why the pps didn't move much is because there's been no verification of the alleged licensing agreement. We will know in 2-3 weeks if the agreement is real. If it isn't, spencer will have a lot of "splaining to do."

SHs are tired of hearing how great the tech is. spencer has announced a licensing agreement that will generate revenues and make gosy "net profitable." Wallace is seeking a copy of this agreement and as a creditor he is entitled to see it.

If there is no agreement or if it will not generate revenues, spencer will have to explain it in an uncomfortable legal venue. He lied about Daya. That was his one bite of the apple. He won't get a second without consequences.

The fact that there has been no public statement from the alleged licensee raises serious questions. IMO

A Palo Alto toddler was injured last Thursday after his parents claim a security robot at the Stanford Shopping Center knocked him over and then proceeded to run him over. And what's more, ABC 7 reports that this may not be the first time that the 5-foot-tall, 300-pound autonomous robot has injured a child.

We first learned about the Knightscope K5 last week when it was reported that Uber rents one of the Silicon Valley-manufactured robots to patrol its San Francisco inspection lot. The company that makes the digital rent-a-cop calls it "a new groundbreaking innovation in advanced physical security," and notes that "[this] technology changes everything and is especially needed as the world continues to become more and more volatile."

In this case, however, it seems that the robot might be the cause of the volatility, not a response to it.

"The robot hit my son's head and he fell down facing down on the floor and the robot did not stop and it kept moving forward," Tiffany Teng explained to the channel. "He was crying like crazy and he never cries."

Fortunately, 16-month-old Harwin Cheng escaped the baby-on-machine interaction with only a swollen foot a few scrapes, but his parents worry that the K5 could injure other small children. And, in a revelation that makes Thursday's encounter read like the first inklings of a robot uprising in a Isaac Asimov story, we learn that the robot may have struck before. According to Harwin's parents, a human security guard at the mall told them the robot had had a similar encounter previously with another toddler.

The K5 has been on patrol at the shopping center since 2015, reports The Mercury News, and ABC 7 notes that the center did not return a request for comment.

The robot was made by Knightscope, a startup whose robot alerts lawmakers whenever it detects strange activity in the area it’s supposed to protect. According to Tiffany Teng, one of these autonomous mall cops ran over her 16-month-old son Harwin Cheng, knocking him to the floor and giving him some minor injuries.

“The robot hit my son’s head and he fell down facing down on the floor and the robot did not stop and it kept moving forward,” Harwin’s mother, Tiffany Teng, told ABC7 News.

It’s not hard to imagine how the robot missed Cheng — it stands much taller than he does, and the whole point of the thing is that it runs itself. There was probably a relatively small glitch in the software it uses to navigate the world that caused it to run into Cheng, not realize that it did so, and simply continue on its path.
