January is a solid month for market performance as an influx of cash from yearend bonuses and annual allocations propels stocks higher. Since 1950, January ranks #1 for NASDAQ, but third on the S&P and fourth on the Dow. It is the end of the best three-month span and possesses a full docket of indicators and seasonalities.
The first indicator to register a reading is the Santa Claus Rally. The seven-trading period ends on January 3. Normally, the S&P 500 posts an average gain of 1.6%. The failure of rally tends to precede bear markets or times stocks could purchased later in the year at lower prices.
On January 8 our First Five Days “Early Warning “ System will be in. This indicator has a much better record when its up and is 12 and 2 in Pre-Election Years. Only the two down years were wrong.
Then there is our flagship indicator, the January Barometer. Yale Hirsch created it in 1972. It states simply that as January goes so goes the year. It came into effect in 1939 after the Twentieth Amendment moved the date new Congresses convene to the first week of January along with Presidential inaugurations.
The long-term record has been stupendous, especially in odd-number years like 2007 when new Congresses convene. Errors in 2001 and 2003 and a flat 2005 have not rattled this indicator. The markets position on January 31 will give us a good read on the year to come. When all three of these indicators are in agreement it has been prudent to heed their call.

PRVB: Powder River Increases Equipment, Purchases Service Rig
Market Wire - December 13, 2006 7:08 AM (EDT)
CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Dec 13, 2006 -- Powder River Basin Gas Corp. (OTCBB: PRVB), a revenue generating producer, acquirer and marketer of crude oil and natural gas properties, today announced it has purchased a service rig capable of reworking the shallow wells the Company currently operates. This unit will pull rods and tubing and will be able to service wells up to 4000 feet.
The rig is currently being refurbished and mounted on a larger truck which will allow for long distant transport between the various Powder River projects. The unit is expected to be ready for operations the week of December 18th.
The purchase of a service unit provides Powder River the ability to repair, rework, and recomplete wells under 4000 feet. The Company currently operates several wells of this nature in Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas.
The first project on the operating schedule is to complete four TOKOYO wells on the Springhill, Louisiana project. Based on recent engineering reports, this is expected to substantially increase production on the project. Recompletion of the first well is scheduled to start the week of December 18th. Each well will take approximately one week to complete.
Following completion of the wells on the Springhill project, the service rig will be relocated to the Leonard Heirs project in Acadia Parish, Louisiana. It will be used to finish any work not yet completed to bring the project to full operations. The unit then will be moved to Oklahoma to assist in the projects being brought into full production.
"We are pleased that we were able to locate and purchase suitable equipment, which now allows Powder River to accelerate our rework and recompletion program. This will also help to speed up completion of newly drilled wells," stated Powder River Basin Gas Corp. CEO Brian Fox.
Powder River Basin Gas Corp. is active in production, acquisition, and marketing of crude oil and natural gas properties.
Powder River Basin Gas Corp. trades on the OTCBB under the symbol PRVB.

Not much Banks but did catch it on a Breakout chart and it still continues on...was going to watch it for a pullback maybe to buy...has had HUGE gains already
Thanks Gateway. My other real favorite at this time for 5-10 bagger is MDVX. Have you checked this one out?
PRVB: Channels getting tight:
GPXM: New mine going into production right now:
Banks.... 5 bagger could happen easy this year with strong demand and new contracts....could be much more if it gets bought out like I think it will...I traded it and got back in at $1.60... takeover would put us in middle teens...no take over we go to around $7-10 IMO...GLTY
I am waiting for funds to clear. Would like to ride this one for a 5-10 bagger. Thoughts?
FPP: Low floater going into Jan. Time to accumulate is now imo:
Hi Banks...Loving PRNW under heavy accumulation: Chart:
