Not sure, TBH.
Caught this ...

BTW: you and Bob have done a fine job here.
Wish we could get a few more folks over.
Best & Happy 4th Weekend.

I've seen a lot of SI folks resurface here in the last 24 hrs. Something going on with SI I don't know about?

<< Wonder what year test4 will come in.
Might be sooner than we would like depending on how SI InfoSpace prosper.

actually, everyone blames Frank, and his henchman Dashman, for starting a board that jumped on a trend that lost us all our money...

Ergo, are you inferring that computers and hdtv overlap in application? I wouldn't think that true in business use, and only superficially so in the home. Perhaps I'm missing something, but that wouldn't be unusual. Care to expound?
uf
UF
Can't say I disagree.
The interesting thing to me right now is that I tend to think that the movement to HDTV which is legislated to happen in 2006 just might be contributing to the demise of the PC.
just a thought.
Ergo sum
>> I have heard it said that at the end of a bear market, the market turns to new leaders for the next run up...
That's true, but imo not actionable. The only way to identify the new leaders to any useful degree of accuracy is in the rear view mirror.
I'd rather wait until the new leaders emerge, based on the criteria of demonstrated competitive advantage, and then take a position. The potential for % return is diminished, but the risk/reward ratio is substantially lower.
uf
UF
Or should that be UFO. Just kidding. I have heard it said that at the end of a bear market, the market turns to new leaders for the next run up. Typically it seems they come from an almost unexpected direction. I wonder if you see any new directions, or companies emerging.
I don't know that we are at the end of a bear market. I don't know if we are in a new bull market.
I just wonder if you see any new leaders.
Ergo Sum
cuf,
<< I'm not sure they have the recipe for the Secret Sauce. >.
They wrote the recipe.
Secret Sauce and unpublished ingredients are only in proprietary standards.
- ce -
Ah, that looks familiar. Or maybe should.
As to my posting history here... I signed up last year, when the one true Bob was new... and I haven't posted since. When I finish this I'll check my own history and see where I've been.
And if you think my locales are strange here you haven't seen my pasts on RB or Yahoo, not to mention sundry others. But to keep things easy I (almost) always have the same name... oddly, there seems no competition.
ts@guesswhy.com
BTW, is it more curmudgeonly to take advantage of repetitive trading ranges,or to ignore them and wait? Either way there's much opportunity for anger.
Sorry, mate. Maybe this one will suit you better:
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/board.asp?board_id=38
I sent you there because of your dubious posting history on IH. You've been hanging out in some, shall we say strange, locales.
What was your screen name on SI when it was still in business?
cuf
Oh, that's good. <g>
Am I in keeping with board spirit to ask why you direct me to a venue empty for days... or maybe it just feels homely there?

Lantern, hell. Where's the unprincipled debate area? There, we don't need lights.
Or indeed reasons.

>> Nokia designed TI as always.
Then you might have to wait a little longer than September.
I'm not sure they have the recipe for the Secret Sauce.
cuf
<< Do you have a link in Engrish? >>
Unfortunately no.
<< Who's chip set are they using? >>
Nokia designed TI as always.

Do you have a link in Engrish?
Who's chip set are they using, Eric? Surely not their own or TI's, I'd think.

New Nokia dual-mode WCDMA phone ...
... the one in Anssi Vanjoki's pocket in Hannover ...
... coming to 3G network operators retail outlets on September 26, 2002:

Man-size (my size).
Traditional design (my style).
Note the external antenna generally verbotten in Europe (confirmed in the Q&A with rationale).
Is this REALLY the final design?
Maybe.
Maybe not.
Keep the world guessing.

ctb,
<< should we start an IH cruel post thread, >>
I see you did, and notice that it is very popular.
<< And what did you mean about 4G getting here before 3G? Will it come in a DeLorean? >>
No .... it will be first available in a 300SL (gull wing) coupe or convertible.
- ce -
ok, hot shot, I figured out what to do. I can just ban Ban BAN individual posts rathe than posters! I like that. I intend to use my power liberally (according to legitimate ground rules, of course).
HAH!
ctb/A
should we start an IH cruel post thread, or would it just be redundant? And what did you mean about 4G getting here before 3G? Will it come in a DeLorean?

LOL!
Right.
You want me to forward that comment to Matt, Eric?
Actually, you could contact him directly without fear of being snubbed. He's pretty humble for a self made medial mogul.

Matt,

I was gonna check in over here the other night but rembered that you had unhospitably closed it down.
I home dashing one got a letter off to the SI folks.
Not bad. They added the "Next 10" fetch.

That was just some suit, honey. Don't get too excited by those corporate types. Here today, gone tomorrow.

Boa, darlin', I've missed you
who was that masked man?
cbb~
You guys are amazing! Aren't you broke yet?
I look forward to building what is left of my "wealth" back into some amount that will go further than one trip to see Lindy. That could take a while!
Boa, darlin', I've missed you.
Hey! Don't expect me to be back until Friday or even Saturday, folks.
Love y'all!
DS
Wow, they really are in trouble! I hope we don't lose them.
Hey, Bill, I'm not about to argue with success. Even a little win is a big deal these days. But don't get too comfortable. Mr. Market's been pretty good at turning the tables on us whenever we get too confident.
Wonder what happened to SI today. Maybe insp couldn't cover the electric bill. Haved you looked at their chart? It looks like the down side of Mt. Everest.
